MFP and my Fitbit.

I quit almost 6 years ago...cold turkey. I had tried quitting many times with the patch, the gum, and one disastrous experiment with Chantix I would like to forget. I had been a two pack a day smoker. Cold turkey was the only way for me but we are all different, whatever works for you...great. One thing perhaps to try...do…

After about 15 minutes of use, I never even felt the chest strap. It just took a little bit of getting use to. I wear a Fitbit but when it breaks down I am going to get a Garmin with a chest strap. I don't know if that would track everything you want but if it is just the thought of a chest strap that is bothering...don't…

Best feeling in the world...Congratulations!

I quit smoking almost six years ago, I was a two pack a day smoker for too many years to count...I found the only way I could quit was 'cold turkey'. I also read a book called something like "The Easy Way To Quit Smoking", I can't remember the author but it is a quite well known book. It helped me tremendously. I also have…

I love my Quest bars...I have one or sometimes two every day. I will check the calorie count again to see if it has changed but 50 calories one way or another would not stop me from eating them.
-
Wow...thanks for this! I know the importance of measuring your food...but, until I watched this I didn't realize just how badly you could miscalculate by using spoons and scoops. Guess my kitchen scale will be getting much more use now!
-
Now that is BRILLIANT...thanks!
-
Fantastic! Such perseverance...way to go!
-
Can we make it a sweep...another vote for NikonPal!

THIS! I read this book, went cold turkey and never looked back. That was over 5 years ago and was the best move I ever made. I had been a very heavy smoker for almost 50 years when I quit...more than 2 packs a day. I was 62 when I quit...if I could do it, you most certainly can.

There is a simple solution...just don't close off your diary at the end of the day, then MFP will not send the message. All the benefits of logging and no little warning. Go with what your Doctor says, not some random computer site.

I was told that if you press on the ball of the runner and it feels somewhat spongy then it is time for new shoes. Also they recommend new shoes every six months or 400 - 500 miles. Treat yourself to new shoes...your feet will thank you for it and you will enjoy your run so much more.
-
Good grief! It takes all kinds I guess. I've never used the 'flag' so I didn't know you have to pick something.
-
Maybe she thought the flag was like the 'thumbs up' on Facebook.
-
WHY?

Mine use to be open but I got one too many 'way to go' when it showed on my newsfeed that I completed my diary and was under my calories...when if the person had looked at my diary they would have seen the day did not deserve a 'way to go' and that I was severely below my calories for the day. So I just figured if they…

I love my Aria.
-
Awesome...congratulations! That's what I am trying to do...keep it simple.
-
I love it...but I don't have to get up at any particular time in the morning.
-
This is not a small success...it's fantastic! What a difference 11 pounds make...you look perfect right now. Way to go! (*)

You most likely do not burn 300 calories in 30 minutes on the treadmill unless you are running really fast on an incline. I am taller and much heavier than you and there is no way I burn that much in half an hour. Incorrect assessment of calories burned and calories eaten will derail any of us. You need to weigh all your…

Another Fitbit One addict here...I love mine. I would be a lazy slug without it. It makes me get up and move because I can't stand the low number if I don't. Everyone I know that has one loves it.

On your MFP Home page, near the top, you will see 'check-in' click on that and the fourth item down the list will show you FITBIT STEPS.

Thanks for all the replies. I took mine back and am considering the Charge HR although I am also interested in the new Garmin Vivofit 2 that is coming out soon. That one can be left on all the time because you can wear it in the shower, when your swimming, and it has a battery that lasts for a year. I think I will wait…

She went to see a Nutritionist...hopefully an educated and properly licensed one. They discussed her personal situation and she was given advice tailored to her unique needs. It was a positive experience for her...why rain on her parade? Unless you are a licensed Nutritionist I don't know what value your remarks have for…

Love it! Thanks for posting. :)

Never mind...I figured it out! It is very helpful if you read the 'Help' tab.

I obviously do not know what I am doing. I am trying to update my weight in Column D but it won't allow me to change the value that is already there...it seems to be locked but I am sure that it is something I am not doing correctly. Can anyone explain how I make the change? Thanks.

I'm torn between sticking with Fitbit and upgrading to the new Fitbit Charge or Charge HR , or trying out the Garmin Vivofit. I have had a Fitbit of one kind or another for four years now and love them; I've also had great experiences with their customer support. My daughter has the Vivofit and loves it. It has several…
