You come home after a LONG (but really fun and enjoyable!) workout and get a super deep sleep. At least for me lol. Also when you feel really full all day long but you stayed under your calorie goal. That's the best.

I'm looking forward to wearing clothes that aren't in the women's plus size section again. I'm also really looking forward to being fit enough to go back to Taekwondo regularly and earn my black belt (I'm still a high blue/purple belt after 6 years of efforts). Also, one thing that may be a bit of a pipe dream, but I…

JFT 8/12/16: 1. Stay within my calorie goals for the day 2. Go to the gym after dinner 3. Go out for at least one 10-15 min. breaktime walk (not counting going out for lunch!) 4. Love myself and be proud of how far i've come! :)

21.6 pounds! It was 40 pounds as of 2 and a half months ago, so i'm halfway there! Maybe i'll see it by my birthday in November ;)
-
My birthday is Nov. 12th, I'm not gunning for any particular weight to hit by then as my weight loss has been somewhat inconsistent. However, I want to see myself still following my nutrition and exercise goals come my birthday. :)

Nah, I don't ban anything. That never works for me. I actually have to actively pay attention to finding ways to eat some of those things that I want but are so calorie dense that they don't seem worth it. I've had dreams before of sneaking off from work and gorging myself with fries and giant burgers hand over fist.…

I have similar problems, I have a desk job where there *is* always work to do but it's dull, so if i'm not careful I could end up mindlessly munching (and have on occasion). Bring healthy snacks to work, things that are in a small enough portion that if you grab one and mindlessly eat, it's not going to blow your diet. I…

I have this issue too sometimes. What my dietitian told me is to try eating a snack with a combination of protein and carbs, but eat the protein first. She said it'll help keep you feeling fuller and more satisfied. Usually it works for me.

Today has been one of those days. My divorce was finalized and my ex has spent the day trying to make me jealous and humiliate me. Then I took my final exam in one of my classes tonight and completely bombed it, which dropped my grade to a B, which ruined my 4.0 GPA. Normally the 1.5 quart container of rocky road ice cream…

JFT 8/6/16 -Staying under my calorie goal for the day! I KNOW I can do this! -Drinking more water -Bringing a healthy bag lunch to work (and NOT abandoning it to go eat out anyway, lol)

I only take them once a month, usually around the first of the month. This month I waited until the 3rd to log it because when the 1st rolled around, I knew that I was retaining water. Sure enough on the 3rd I showed a solid loss of inches.

Depends on your definition, I suppose... If you mean when did I start constantly trying to diet and lose weight because everyone around me said I was "fat" (even though I was actually healthy and normal), I was13. If you mean when I actually became overweight and started struggling with that, I was 19. What has been the…

I'd absolutely move to Scandinavia if I thought I could afford to make a move like that, as well as make it through immigration requirements. Not because of the fruit, although that's definitely a perk I didn't think/know of lol.

Happens to me too. Doesn't matter what I do, about 5-10 mins into my walk/run I often end up feeling that horrible cramping and need to rush home for a bathroom. And even worse, sometimes it's just gas! :( Full disclosure, I do have IBS, so that's part of it. The other part can be what I've eaten recently. The worst…

OMG no way, lol! :) I don't think I could ever quit fruit, I've always loved it even as a kid. I just know that with the end of summer coming, fresh fruits are going to be less available and there's something about frozen fruit that's just... mneh to me. Most of the vegetables that are available year round are things i'll…

You could do frozen yogurt "bark", basically you smooth out a thin amount of yogurt (usually vanilla) and then put stuff on top like chopped up fruit, maybe a couple of dark chocolate chips, etc. and then freeze for a few hours until solid. Then you break it up and eat it as if it were pieces of chocolate. There's a lot of…

Hmm... i'm clearly gonna need to learn how to make some veggie soup! :) I usually don't think about soup or salad because I don't find them filling on their own, but if it was a side with my meal it might work better. I like the mason jar idea too, although I'd probably go with a nut butter instead of hummus (not a…

OMG you're soooo right! And it applies to so many things! Like, if you weighed 2 hydrogen particles against one helium particle, they'd totally weigh the same! So clearly, all that science stuff is just arbitrary bs and I can use this to get out of taking science in school. You're a genius.

JFT 8/4/16 1) After work, go to the gym. Go directly to the gym. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, lol. 2) Make a healthy choice for lunch 3) Drink enough water today (got dehydrated yesterday because I didn't drink enough).

I did my monthly measurements today. I'm showing a 1.5" loss in my waist, 2" loss in my hips, and 1" loss in each thigh since last month. So far I've lost a total of 2.5" in both my waist and hips the last two months, 2" in each thigh, and 1/2" in my neck.

Everyone else here has very good advice! I have chosen to visit a dietitian, and I'm very happy with my decision to do that, but it isn't always cheap. I'm fighting with my insurance now to cover the visits (it's supposed to cover 7 visits a year because I'm obese, but they're denying it due to coding issues), but if they…

For me, I'd avoid broccoli before class lol. :) Glad you made it through!

I have officially been on a weight loss regimen and stuck with it for longer than I ever have in the past.

Thanks everyone! To address everyone: -I did go to a REAL running store and get fitted for GOOD running shoes. So that's not the problem, the shoes are amazing. -As I mentioned before, I used to be an avid athlete about 10 years ago. Thankfully I know how to tell if I'm injuring myself or if my muscles are just weak, and…

I can walk for hours without pain as long as I have good shoes. I love to walk, I used to walk 5 miles with my dad daily, sometimes twice a day, and I'm back up to the fitness level that I could do that again if he were here (he lives 2000 miles away, kinda hard to walk with him now lol).
-
I do have an android phone, i'll look into that! Thanks! :) I'll probably end up trying the conditioning program too.
-
As stupid as this sounds, I know high impact is probably not the best choice for me right now (especially as i'm *ahem* well endowed), but I actually feel a real *need* to run. Like, I love the way it feels to run and my muscles feel a longing to run. I even have the stamina to do it, I'm rarely out of breath when I run.…

Motivation is something that has to come from within, or else you're never gonna stick with it. You have to *want* to change. I live in perpetual fear of getting diabetes. Literally everyone on my dad's side of the family has it, and my grandfather died from complications in his early 50s, before I was even born. I don't…

Thanks everyone for the advice! To those suggesting walking first, I have already been walking quite a lot. I've been on the path to getting healthier and more fit for 2 months now. My goal at first was to walk at least 15 mins every day, and pretty much right away I was able to move up to walking about 30-60 mins at a…

Right, and I have been, but I don't know how to increase my running without doing too much too fast, and C25K is too big of a jump.
