As an appetizer while waiting for my dinner I like to sit in my recliner with a bowl of cottage cheese, some stalks of celery and a bottle of my favorite hot sauce. I will scoop up some cc into the end of the celery stalk and then pour a little hot sauce on the celery just above the "dam" created by the cc. Cold, crunchy…

With all due respect, your profile picture probably won't encourage any bride to hire you to do her makeup.

For this type 2 diabetic guy it is very sustainable. Low carb and exercise enables me to keep my blood glucose down and control the diabetes without shooting insulin. Did I mention that I hate shooting insulin? Haven't had to in quite a while now. Helps that I love any sort of meat, cheese or dairy.

Yup. Hitting the gym at 3 or 4am is also helpful.

My wife walked down the aisle to "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," by Roberta Flack. She and I walked back down the aisle to "Sugar Magnolia," by the Grateful Dead.

Congrats. Keep up the good work and you will make it to your goal.

I will be celebrating my 58th birthday tomorrow and my wife got me fitbit back in May for Father's Day. I have found it to be a great motivator. It is clipped to the pocket of my pants as I type. :-)

For me that would probably be biscuits and gravy with a side of grits at Denny's. That is like a week's worth of carbs for me as a type 2 diabetic.

There is a serious difference. I think we are all are our worst critics. You are doing great. Keep up the good work.

And don't forget Linda McCartney, famous long-time vegetarian with her own line of vegetarian foods, dead at 56 from cancer.
