Just like a few of the replies, I too can't workout too close to heading to bed. Feels like my body gets woken up and I'm up for an additional 3-4 hrs. Usually aim for 3-4 hrs before heading to bed as a result.

6 days with an optional stretch day on Sundays if I feel like I need it to get ready for the following week.

I've gained 30 lbs in about an year. I was able to drop 31 lbs and dropping since January. So you're situation is perfectly normal and possible to achieve. Best wishes with making the right healthy food selections.
