  • I got out of the shower and looked down and- my pooch? It's disappearing? When did this even happen?! :o
  • Last week I blew through my 150 minutes, and if everything goes according to plan, I'll do the same this week! I've had a lot of complicated days this week (migraines, dizziness, etc.) from the side effects of the meds and have had to call out of work twice this week. I cannot call out again! I'm starting to resent my body…
  • Ditto! It's been a kind of quiet group lately, but if you need or want anything, we're here =)
  • I'm feeling really good about myself! That vindictive little you-know-what inside of me is so happy that I'll be seeing my ex in a few weeks because I look AMAZING and if he wants to cheat on me then he can just regret it forever. Talk about motivation :D

  • At least you realize it, and you're taking steps to correct it! That's all anyone can ask of you (and you can ask of you, hahaha). Congrats on your losses so far!
  • Firefighting academy physical exam! Being hired as a professional firefighter is kind of the gateway to my dream life, and having that exam to work for- and that life to work towards- is wildly motivating!
  • @SheilaCali , thank you! Props to you for foregoing birthday cake (like, truly, you are an idol for that). How did the Tea go?
  • My goal was to get in 150 minutes of cardio every week, and I crushed it last week! I'm trying to go 5 days a week and get in about 40 minutes (so that if something happens toward the end of the week, I'm covered :p ), and last week I got over 170 minutes. Today I got in 45 minutes and can't wait to hit the gym again!

  • A woman I knew growing up (she had been my Destination Imagination coach, her son was a close friend of mine, etc., etc.) recognized my twin sister, said hi, and asked who her friend (me) was! I could not stop laughing and she kept apologizing, as if being unrecognizable wasn't a compliment :D
  • In addition to what everyone else has said, take a little pressure off of yourself! Two weeks ago I was part of a challenge that involved weighing every day for 10 days and I was so stressed about getting under the "obesity" line that I ended up weighing the exact same at the end of the challenge that I did at the…
  • Crushed my goal for the week. I aimed to get 150 minutes of activity and I got 179. For the first week, I feel good! I hope that as the next few weeks progress, I can just keep moving forward and doing better and going harder every day. I'm having a really stressful week waiting to hear back about if I've been accepted…
  • My goal is just to get 150 minutes of activity in every week! I recently started a job where I'm on my feet all day, so I know calorie-wise things will even out, but I'm hoping by going really hard for half an hour 5 days a week (or however it works out) will really amp up my results. I promise I'll actually keep checking…
  • Holla at us over at Low Carber Daily Forum. We're a friendly bunch =) I haven't been super active there lately personally, but it's a very active group! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

  • I know I'm being that obnoxious girl who keeps talking about her illness, but it really affects my ability to exercise (and eat, and sleep, and on and on and on =p ). With the TB- and with the meds- I have good days and bad days. Good days look like an hour of the ArcTrainer and some StairMaster, coupled up with some…

  • My aim is to get 150 minutes of exercise in every single week. I don't want to have a weight goal, because I know it would just frustrate me and make me obsess, but an exercise goal is perfect for me! Just hoping to feel good. I'm being treated for tuberculosis, but I also have to get in shape for firefighting academy, so…
  • The day after this challenge ended, I dipped below the obesity/overweight line and am now between 178 and 179. Maybe it was all the pressure I was putting on myself, but can y'all believe this?! Too funny, I think.
  • How focused are you on how others look when they go to the gym (in a judgmental way)? If going to the gym is part of a healthy routine and lifestyle for you, focus on your health and that it's an activity you enjoy. If people want to be judgmental and rude, that's their own problem. You focus on your own happiness and…
  • Crumble it up really fine, mix it with some shredded cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and seasonings, wrap it up in a wonton wrapper, and cook it in the oven til crispy. Alternatively, soaking it in soy sauce and then frying it is pretty good (although high in sodium).
  • 4/13: 181.2 (I got 40 whole minutes of cardio in without stopping for a second! 4/14: 181.8 (I got in 60 WHOLE FREAKIN MINUTES without stopping! • Amen! Western medicine has been failing me for years, and- similarly to @Droppinelbees - it was once I introduced more natural and holistic methods of treating my health problems that I began to see more marked improvement (I am willing to the possibility of a placebo effect, but that's true of any new fitness plan). My…
  • Today at work I FELT smaller, like I would go to put books against my side to carry them and I'd have to move my arm in closer than I thought I would. I do my whole home/gym/shower thing after work, and when I looked down in the shower I was so surprised to see my stomach. It wasn't much difference, but it was definitely…

  • My goal was was to go to the gym three times a week, and this week I went five times! I didn't lose any weight (ugh), but I'm starting to see real definition in my calves (I am murdering my elliptical workouts) and in my abdomen (I'M STARTING TO GET ABS), and my roommate keeps telling me how I look much stronger and…
  • You look outstanding! Congratulations. (And kudos to the healthy mindset, I love it :D )
