I try not to lend out too much money to people, but when I do, it's always under the assumption that I won't get it back. If it's too much for me to lose, I won't lend it. If I get it back, great, but I assume I won't. I would never allow money to come between me and a good friend. My advice to you is to think about how…

I lost 100lb while doing very strict calorie counting. Towards the end I stopped tracking so much and eventually stopped. I think the goal of MFP (in my mind) is to help us UNDERSTAND why we gain/lose weight and to know what foods cause us to gain weight and what lifestyle choices allow us to lose weight. I haven't really…

Well done MFPers, to the next troll thread!

It's pointing out that what people say isn't exactly what people mean. Everyone knows that when someone says a pound of muscle weighs more than a pound of fat, what they REALLY mean is that for IDENTICAL VOLUMES, the muscle will weigh more than the fat. What people are pointing out is that saying "A pound of muscle weighs…

Yup yup. Although it feels like it never ends. Two degrees to my name and I decided I want some extra letters in front of my name as well so might as well do a phd :D

I pay all mine off at the end of the month. I like the various rewards and have never paid a dime in interest :). The person mentioned in the original post has a special kind of ridiculous in their blood. I always complain about the sorry state of mathematical knowledge in the US, but the very idea of that kind of debt…

26 going on 10 here! Started this when I had already lost 30 pounds and am almost at my goal :) Would love to discuss this stuff with people on here!

This seems to happen to me on a weekly basis!

Hi everyone, my name is Jonathan and I am 26 years old. I live over in Smyrna. My weight goal 160lb and I started at 300. So far I am 110lb lighter :) It's pretty awesome!

Oh my god, I LOVE telling people how I use to eat when they ask about my weight loss. It's amazing how much I needed to eat just to maintain my weight (300lb at the time). So, time for examples! I could and would eat an entire large pizza by myself. I would constantly have midnight fast food runs. Large #4 with crisscut…

Yes this is the problem :). You almost NEVER see a product that went through the hassle of getting the potassium amount checked by a lab. Common foods such as beans, lettuce, and tomatoes (and I only name those because they're very common for me in particular) keep you from being deficient without you ever realizing it,…

Yeah, that can't be water. No one drinks sugar water except for that alien from Men in Black. I was about to ask what it was.

I do what you do and just guess. The rare occasions where you'll be at a loss for what you're eating won't do much to affect your overall goals. That's also why i tend to over-estimate calories eaten and underestimate the exercises I do so that I have a bit of a cushion for times like that. I figure when I don't have any…

I cheat almost weekly. However, I do record all the food because 1) it's a reminder of how over-eating every so often can stop you from reaching your goal and 2) it's a reminder that over-eating every so often doesn't stop you from reaching your goal :D No, seriously! By seeing it in my diary and seeing how it forces me to…
