Still have more to drop but still proud of my progress thus far! Forgot to mention that I'm 5'4", down 35lbs between these two photos.

35 lbs difference and needing the motivation to get back to regular exercise!

Doc, I meant Doc ;) *grumble grumble autocorrect*

I have never had this happen in my 16+ years of being diagnosed T1. I think a call to the dog is in order!

I was diagnosed with T1 16+ years ago. My suggestion, stick with what works for the blood sugars. In the end, health is what brought most of us here and being diabetic and treating a low is the ultimate example of striving for healthy living. I've lost 35 lbs with many MANY lows in the process. Hang in there, work hard,…

I posted in the original thread but thought I'd post again since I just cut all my hair off ; EDIT: forgot to mention this is about a 35 lb difference.

Beautiful! You've slimmed down so much in your shoulders, upper arms and neck! Keep up the hard work, it's definitely paying off!!

Me. I've dramatically increased my endurance with running, high intensity cardio and weight training as well as dropping a little over 30 lbs. The red face has gone nowhere which makes me think it never will :( Oh well, there could be worse things!

You can actually buy shorts specifically meant for cycling that have padding in the 'seat' area. Also, the more you cycle, the more your body toughens up.

I started my fitness regimen with 30DS and when I completed that, I followed it with No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. Most of my workouts were cardio with minimal weights and I realized after reading a lot on MFP forums that I needed to start lifting heavy. I've been running on the treadmill in order…

Welcome, Ruth! You'll find that most people here struggle especially in the beginning with balancing BS, exercise and ever-changing insulin needs. But it can be done! It will take some work, lots of lows, and some experimentation to figure out what works for you. I've found that exercising at night following a full meal…

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and compliments! I couldn't have done any of this without MFP and the support of everyone here!!

I've lost 30+ lbs, T1 for 16 years and I do not eat low carb. My diary is open to friends so feel free to add me if you're interested. Most of my friends list is made up of other T1's as well.

I honestly think a lot of women don't know a) their correct bra size and b) how a sports bra should fit in order to function properly. I cannot believe how many women I know in real life that wear two sports bras for support when in reality, they aren't so large chested as to not fit into common sports bra sizes. I've…

About 30 lbs down on the right. Still working towards my goal, slow and steady right? :) Edit: whoa, that was big!

This is fantastic, YOU are fantastic! No one decides your future besides you. Keep working, keep trying and you will have success in whatever you do :)

My body shape has stayed the say. Everything has shrunk down but all the proportions relative to each other still look the same to me. Its like really, where has this 30+ lbs actually come off from?!? It really messes with my self-esteem. Also, the unwanted attention from guys. I've been overweight my entire life but was…

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait one second there, Honey. When did three years become the breaking point for love and commitment?! My husband and I dated 4.5 years before engagement, another year and a half passed before our wedding and we have been married for three years now. Spoiled that theory. To the OP, try to shrug it off. My…

My husband is a mountain biker; he rides on a team and practices with guys from numerous other teams. That being said, it's very common for cyclists to have poor core strength which can cause lower back pain during and following a ride. I've heard that Pilates is a great way to strengthen your core if you plan to bike…

As my husband pointed out last night, I currently have a fitness crush on Christmas Abbott. I wouldn't mind sharing some common traits with her. I don't want to, nor will I ever, be as toned as her but I admire her drive and success. She is one bad a** woman.

I have been with Animas for 10-12 years, pumping with the Ping for over two. I don't use the remote that often, maybe a few times a week, but I love having the option. The Ping is slightly larger than the 20/20 or earlier Animas pumps (which is a bit of a bummer since the remote makes it ideal for hiding in clothing) but…

I've never been pregnant but my advice from one T1 to another, find a new Endo! I had a terrible experience for years with a crappy doctor that made me feel awful about my control. He was critical and never had any real advice beyond test more, eat less, be better at being Diabetic. No matter how expansive a doctor's…

You're welcome, glad to have you :) Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like!

Welcome, Kellie. My suggestion is to keep at it! It took me a couple weeks to begin losing when I started on MFP and even then, it was a slow pace. It took my first 8-10 lbs lost to realize my new habits were actually DOING something to my body. I realized the combination of not just exercise but also healthy eating was…

I got down to 16 after a night of drinking while camping. It was super scary. I felt a little 'off' but I thought it was just a hang over. Luckily, I didn't require any medical assistance and was able to bring it up on my own with Gatorade.

Home blood glucose meters are only accurate +/-20% If you were to take two consecutive readings on two seperate fingers, you're also likely to get a different result. Average fasting readings should be between 70-100 for healthy non diabetic people. As the previous poster already noted, blood glucose peaks around 2 hours…

Interesting. This might explain feeling like death while hiking in St. John a few months ago in 85 degree heat and 75% humidity!

Yes, mine does the same. In general, if I'm above 230, I'll go up and up until I end up well over 300. But on the flip side, if I'm below 170-180, I'll drop like a rock into the 40's. Most doctors would advise you not to begin a workout over 250 due to the risks of running even higher and developing ketones.
