Wow, so glad I stumbled onto this thread as it's great to know I'm not alone... I, too, have put weight back on. I lost over 130 lbs in 2011, but put back on 38 in 2012. Like others, I had gotten rid of clothes and now have a closet full of clothes that don't fit. Those I won't get rid of as I'm determined to get back in…

I started walking with Leslie Sansone videos in July of 2010. I was close to 300 lbs. In 18 months, I had lost 130 lbs. Obviously, I was very out of shape, so I started with the one mile walks and gradually worked my way up to five mile walks. I varied three to five mile walks at least four times per week. Unfortunately, I…

Congratulations! I believe you are the first in our group to meet your monthly challenge. Now, that's dedication!
AZChatterB , Great NSVs you have had  Way to go on walking the 3 Fast Miles. That is a great addition to your miles :-) Stay strong and never give up :flowerforyou:
Thanks for the encouragement. I had forgotten how much I liked the 3 Fast Miles Walk; I like when she turns it over for a brief time…

Thanks for the encouragement. I had made a commitment to do three mile walks on the weekend since I had the extra time available. I also told myself that if I didn't get out of bed in the morning to complete a two mile walk before work, I would "have" to do a three mile walk in the evening. Guess what? I wound up doing a…

I have the 5 Day Slim Down, and really like it. It does not use weights or bands. Day 1 is a version of her classic walk with the basic four moves (walking, kicks, side steps, and knee lifts). Each successive day focuses on a a particular area: Arms, Legs, Tummy; and Day 5 is a Speed Walk. My routine was to do the Classic…

Weekly Check-in... I'm happy to say it's the first time I've walked every day in a week for about a year, so thank you for posting the challenge! I would also like to say to those who are feeling winded with Leslie's one mile walks, stay with it and build up your stamina! I, too, started with the one mile walks and told…

What has worked for me? Being more conscious of the foods I eat. Drastically reducing processed foods, being honest in my logging of everything, eliminating the whites (bread, rice, potatoes) as much as possible, making healthier choices at restaurants, etc. Working out regularly. I'm certainly not "in shape" but even…

Great challenge, and thanks for the specific details. Unfortunately, I did not have access to stairs. Instead, I completed the Ageless DVD for legs, along with my regular power walking (Leslie Sansone) video. Hope everyone is doing well. I know joining this challenge has helped to keep me motivated.

Love the idea of Water Wednesday, and I was able to get in my 80 ounces. :drinker:

Well, you're right. It can be hard to note positives about yourself. I've had a real fitness setback this past year (38 lb gain) so every positive I started to think of was negated. I finally realized one, though: I have not eaten fast food since April of 2010. That was the month I finally got serious about my health. I…

Great to see others who use Leslie Sansone. That's what I'm using, too. I saw the challenge last night, but didn't get my DVDs out to plan the week until now. The challenge did, though, get me out of bed this morning to workout before work (no mean feat when the bed is so toasty warm!). Today, I did the two mile Burn Body…

Wow, it's so great to see how well everyone is doing! I've walked each day with Leslie since starting this challenge, but my real test will start tomorrow as I go back to work after being off for the holiday weeks. For this past week, I walked 16 miles: 1-Jan 3 Mile Super Fat Burning 2-Jan 3 Mile Walk Your Belly Flat 3-Jan…

Thanks for the link, Mike! I, too, just bought chia seeds, and this site gave me great, usable ideas. :flowerforyou:

Great idea. I logged both Saturday and Sunday and the planning shows me I have extra calories available (and this is before entering my exercise). Healthy snacks, here I come!

I've been adding a cucumber and three stalks of celery to mine (3-4 cups of water, protein powder, flax seed, various fruit). The fruit covers the taste of the vegetables, but gets me to add more vegetables to my diet.

I bought a Ninja blender and add a cucumber and three stalks of celery to my protein drink. With added fruit, the vegetables aren't a noticeable taste, so It's been a great way for me to get more vegetables into my daily meals.

Done, but only one set and with a few less reps than the host (man, I'm so out of shape!): Superstar Abs workout (no ball): Glute Bridge 15/15 reps Reverse Crunch 15/15 reps Regular Crunch 10/20 reps Elbow-to-Knee Crunch 10/20 reps Side Plank Left 10/10 2 second holds Side Plank Right 10/10 2 second holds Plank 25/30…

Late in posting, but... I was so winded after the first set of lunges! However, to commit to the challenge of at least 10 extra minutes, I actually took the cellophane off a DVD I had bought months ago and completed one of the 15-minute workouts: Ageless with Kathy Smith Staying Strong; I completed the glutes workout,…

Was getting ready to post that I had 8 oz to go, but instead got off the couch and drank those 8 oz so I could post "accomplished." Thanks for starting us out with a do-able! See you all tomorrow. :drinker:

So glad to have found this group and challenge. It's been motivating to read your previous successes and current goals. I am vowing to get back on a regular workout routine, which in turn will help my now too tight (or don't even fit anymore!) fit once again. Thanks for the motivation and support. Good luck to all!

Happy New Year! I was happy to find this group. In 2011, I walked over 600 miles using Leslie Sansone walks, but in 2012 I walked less than 100. Although I didn't do the calculations until last week, my waistline and my brain have noticed the difference. I am hoping to re-motivate and re-energize. My January goal is 55…
