  • Thanks for starting this thread. I've been so down on myself for getting into a rut, but it's nice to hear I'm not in it alone and that there is hope. LIke others, I was ten pounds from my goal weight two years ago and then just lost it. I wasn't happy in my job and I had some personal stress, too. However, I let those be…
  • It helps to know I'm not the only one... I lost about 130 pounds over 18 months, but then put 60 back on over the next 18. No real excuse; I just got lazy about workouts (I would workout "tomorrow"). I'm trying to get back into a routine (October has been my best month for consistent workouts since December 2011!).
  • Weekly check-in. Halfway through the month, and I'm halfway there, so that's a plus! Last week was the first time in months that I did a walk every day. This group is a great way to stay motivated (and thanks, texas, for the words of encouragement - for me and for everyone!) Last night, I had a late meeting, but I still…
  • Count me in! I had set a goal of 40 miles for the month, but this challenge might give me the kick I need to take it to 50. Be healthy, Everyone, and good luck!
  • I'm happy to report that I lost 1.2 pounds since last Wednesday. I know it's from getting back into a regular workout routine. Thanks for the motivation! Tonight, I used the Burn Body Fat & Sculpt Your Arms for two miles. I'd like to work myself up to a three mile tape, but so far I've been using the two mile ones (High…
  • Not a new face, but haven't been around for months  I am shooting for 40 miles - 2 miles a day, at least five days a week. Tonight, I used the Sansone Walk Strong video. Thanks for the motivation!
  • Great tips; thanks! I will modify my eliminate to replace with brown and whole grain alternatives. Just to clarify, I didn't mean to infer a low-carb diet, just a healthy diet as I want to make lifelong changes, not just short term. I appreciate the info!
  • Can you clarify? I thought those were the "bad" carbs. Thanks!
  • Love this idea for motivation and support. Please include me. Thanks!
  • This may be the motivation I need. I got off to a good start in January, and then fell back into old habits in February. :frown: Thanks for getting this challenge up and running (no pun intended!).
  • Lots of rain here in :glasses: sunny :glasses: Phoenix this weekend. I can't remember the last time it rained all day pretty much non-stop, which was Saturday. The rain let up for a bit on Sunday, but came back in the afternoon. We certainly needed it, so I'm not complaining. On the other hand, I don't do well with air…

  • In my case, I fell out of my workout routine. Because I logged my exercise, I was able to track it from 2011 (lost over 100 pounds) and 2012 (gained 30 pounds) and found that I did 1/6 of the workouts versus 2011. And, although I have learned to eat healthier and to make smarter choices, I wasn't as careful about portion…
  • I work out at home, too. I have a variety of cardio and strength training DVDs, weights, bands, and a jump rope. I did a boot camp for a month (groupon), but the others in the group were 15-20 years younger than me. I don't want the expense of a gym. Eventually, I would like to have a trainer to help me with my strength…
  • Thanks so much for sharing! This will be a tremendous help.
  • Not my finest week... I was away at a conference T-F, and got sick Wed night. It was all I could do to make it through the conference days and then I went right to bed (at least hotel beds are comfy!). I got home Friday night around 6pm and was in bed by 7pm, then slept for 12 hours! I did go to the hotel gym my first…
  • Well, the first challenge I missed. :grumble: I traveled today for a conference through the rest of the week and forgot about the day's challenge. Although I did pretty well overall, I did have a chocolate bar (Russell Stover) and then a diet coke at my conference (mostly to keep me awake!). On the plus side, I went to the…
  • I just saw this ad banner and ordered. I like that they don't add sugar to the dried fruit snacks, as so many do.
  • Just saw this ad banner and ordered. I've been getting fruit and nut snacks from Kroger, but the selection is limited due to the use of sugar in the dried fruit. The Go Bites appealed to me because they don't use any added sugars.
  • Wow! Great to see everyone sticking with (and achieving!) their January goals. This group has been such a motivator for me. I had a three-day weekend for MLK day, and it shows in my walking - did not get in a Sansone walk on either Saturday or Sunday, so today with the day off, I walked all five miles of the 5 Day Slim…
  • Count me in as another one not depressed today. I had the day off, so I started my morning with an extra workout due to the extra time. I usually do a two mile Leslie Sansone workout and today I did a five mile! Even though I was tempted to stop after the second mile, I stuck with it and after the third mile didn't even…
  • My first time doing yoga! The instructor explained each move, but I still felt like I didn't know what I was doing on some of the poses. Oh well, thanks for the challenge to try something new.
  • Just saw this reminder and got my last glass in to make the 80 ounces! :drinker:
  • 1/2 - 198 1/9 - 195 1/16 - 195.4 At least it wasn't a big gain, but still somewhat disappointing as I have worked out every day since starting this challenge along with monitoring what I eat. I was so excited to have the three pound loss the week before. I believe it may be to not getting enough protein. I have hit the MFP…
  • Add me to the early morning exercise group --- 5:50 am MST. I use the "you snooze, you lose" motto to keep me from hitting the snooze button in the mornings. I also like the mornings better because it gets me going and I'm hopeful that it will rev my metabolism for continued fat burning throughout the day. As an added…
  • Great link; thanks for sharing. I did complete her routine, but have a question: how many do you count as a rep? I've seen varying numbers. Thanks!
