Hello, Fellow Walkers. Can you believe that August is winding down!!! Jenny, congrats on making your goal. :drinker: I'm pushing it close to the wire, but should be able to make it. Ann, it is a big deal to walk EVERY day; congrats on your hard work. :flowerforyou: I set my goal for 60 miles each month intending to walk…

Hello, Fellow Walkers. August is winding down. Thank goodness for the five mile walk tapes so I can catch up on missed days to stay on target. I know what you mean, Sandy, about having more energy when the weather is cooler. It seems like the heat just zaps us, especially here in Phoenix. We are in another…

Hello, Everyone. I'm envious of the cooler weather some of you are having --- still in triple digits here in Phoenix --- and the vacations ---- schools start at the beginning of August (not after Labor Day) here in Phoenix, so even though it's still hot, hot, hot, "summer" is over. :glasses: On a happy note, after a month…

Yes, to the mung beans question... "sprouted from mung beans".

Happy August, Everyone! It's great to see returning friends and new friends joining. I found MFP last summer about this time and found this thread in the fall. It really helped motivate me to set walk goals and be more consistent in exercising --- thanks to all for the support!!! I'm glad I found something that works for…

I can't believe it's the end of July already. Where does the time go? I'm happy to report that I did get back on track and made my goal of 60 miles (albeit using the 5 mile tapes several times to make up for non walking days, but still). Unfortunately, I've been stuck on my weight for the past month, haven't gained, but I…

Hope it's okay for anyone to take the challenge... I happened upon your post and it was just the incentive I needed to get up from in front of the TV. I did a warmup and then the Jumping Jacks (albeit in bursts of 20 to 30 with a short break in between, but still). I felt so good for completing the 200, I added the bonus.…

Hello, Fellow Walkers. Can you believe we're at the end of July???!!! After a slow start to the month, including 8 days of not walking (YIKES!), I have caught up and am on pace to meet my goal --- thank goodness for those 5 mile walks! Theresa, I applaud your stamina with those 7 and 8 mile walks; you're an inspiration. I…

Great site; thanks for sharing!!! I actually had a Jimmy John's unwich today, so was glad to see that the site also has Jimmy John's items. :flowerforyou:

Hello, Everyone. I'm getting back on track, but still slightly below my goal of 60 miles for the month (I should be at 34 miles). Teresa, I don't know how you get those seven mile walks in; you seem to stay so motivated --- Good for you! Alice, congrats on the smaller bum. :drinker: Seems like we all have some challenging…

Hello, Everyone. Happy July. I took a spa vacation, but have been pretty lazy this month (once again; I REALLY, REALLY need to get back on track!). At the spa, I did swim five laps on Saturday. I don't know what an average is, or how many one should be able to swim, but I was proud of my accomplishment. It sure tuckered…

Just turned 47, and I'm not ready to give up either. Stay with it and stay healthy!

I don't know specifically about the Baby Bullet, but I bought into the hype and bought the Bullet. It's okay, but I'm glad I got it for less than $40 (at a Macy's sale). The blades are not at all sharp. I actually use my Oster blender to crush ice and then put the crushed ice into the Bullet to mix a drink or what-not. I…

Hello, Fellow Walkers. I hope everyone had a good weekend. I did walk on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but (admittedly) was lazy. I had intended to use each of the three five mile Leslie Sansone videos that I have, but instead I did a three mile on Friday and then two miles on both Saturday and Sunday. The Friday…

Hello, Fellow Walkers. I hope everyone had a good Father's Day. As many of you know, my dad has been going through chemo treatments the past few months. He's doing better; the chemo treatments are done for six weeks and then the doctors will re-evaluate to see if they will start another round. He still has a catheter, but…

Hello, Everyone. Sorry I've been incommunicado this month, just in a funk I guess. I've read through the posts for the month and see that I'm not the only one, just the only one that hasn't been turning to my MFP pals for support. So, with mid-month, I'm ready to get back on track... I haven't walked or done any real…

Hello, Everyone. Happy End of May! I like the idea of a Free-for-All for June, too. With the weather warming up, I want to get out in my pool. :glasses: Also, I'm really feeling like I need to do more strength training. One thing I do like about the Sansone walks is the use of arm movements and weights/firm bands, but I…

Hello, Everyone. I'm still here (just didn't get any walks in during the week - YIKES!). I did Sansone's Five Mile Slim Down and Five Mile Walk It Off & Tone It Up to catch up for my goal. I really have to get back into a regular routine. Jenny, you're right about having some variety (although I'm finding that the LS…

Hello, Fellow Walkers. Missed my midweek check-in, but I'm still here... I did the five mile Slim Down today, mostly to catch up on some miles toward my May goal! I missed walks several days this past week. My brother was in town to visit with our dad, who is still getting his chemo treatments. I stopped by my dad's on…

Weekend check-in... I'm on target to make my goal, but I do notice I'm not using the four and five mile walks as often as I have in past months. Does anyone notice whether they are better to walk every day (or almost every day) with a two/three mile walk or four to five times a week using the four and five mile walks? I…

Hello, Fellow Walkers! Mid-week check in... Maynard: Congrats on your maintenance! What a feeling of accomplishment you must have. :drinker: MFK: How was your 5K last Sunday? I did my first this past March and hope to do more; a year ago, I wouldn't have even considered it. Walking on such a regular basis (thanks,…

Thanks, Sandy, for setting up the thread. I agree with others; this is a great way to keep me accountable. I've decided to stick with 60 miles for May (it's the two miles per day recommended, and the variety of DVDs I have from 1 to 5 miles help keep me on target even if I miss a day here or there). Karen, like you, I have…

Congrats to everyone for completing your April goals! See you in the May thread (thanks, Sandy!)

Weekend check in and Easter blessings and sentiments to all. :flowerforyou: Well, things seem to be on an upswing for me. After barely making my March goal (did the last three miles on the last day!), I made my April goal today!!! With all the work and personal stress, I was falling behind, even missing five days in a row…

I second the sentiment on not leaving us, Sandy. The motivation and support from this group has been helping me make my goals each month (especially in increasing my walking/exercising). Teresa, great news about your bikini. Congratulations! Your hard work and dedication is obviously paying off. As for me, unfortunately I…

Congratulations. Your hard work and dedication certainly shows! Thanks so much for sharing your story. Like you, I am trying to make changes through walking, portion control, and healthier choices. I'm so glad to hear it worked for you. :drinker:

If you have cable TV, check to see what's available in the "Free Zone" through On Demand. I have Cox Communications and there are many different workouts available (cardio, walking, yoga, etc) at no charge. This is a great way to "try before you buy." Good luck!

Hello, April Walkers! Sandy, you noted that you took the weekend off; unfortunately, I took the week. Work is still crazy without my boss (he was let go the 10 days ago), and Tuesday my dad had surgery to remove seven cancerous tumors (he's doing well, and has a follow up appointment tomorrow). I thought for sure my…

I found this website to calculate my Subway meals: http://www.eddieoneverything.com/calculators/subway-sandwich-calorie-carb-nutrition-calculator.php/comment-page-1#comment-242591 The Subway official site has nutritional values for "pre-made" salads and sandwiches. This site allows you to customize what you actually order.…

Hello to April! Things are crazy at work, so I took advantage of the weekend to do the 5 Mile Fat Burning both yesterday and today. Did anyone get pranked for April Fools Day? (None on me, nor did I play any.) Hope you're all off to a great start for your April goals.
