Yesterday I reset my HRM from 185 pounds to 180, so today when I did my 5k I did not burn as many calories:mad: , but it is part of losing and getting in better shape.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: I am trying to cut 15-30 seconds off my time everytime I run. Maybe by spring I will be brave enough to run outside where…

For the funny bone... I served a mixed veggie side dish to the daycare kids today. One of them picked up a piece of cauliflower and said "I've never had white broccoli before!"

Kick your mental game up a notch time.... STAND AND WALK TALL WITH A RELAXED CONFIDENT EXPRESSION ON YOUR FACE. WHEN YOU CREATE THAT IMPRESSION ON THE OUTSIDE, YOUR BRAIN PROCESSES IT, MAKING YOU MORE LIKELY TO FEEL IT ON THE INSIDE!

Yes, it happened to me through a variety of things. When we started dating it always involved dinner and drinks. a bit of a gain, buying a house together and having someone to have a few drinks with in the evening....more gain. Got married and had 3 kids in 4 years...lots of weight. Now the my youngest will be 8 this year…

I was thinking of buying a really awesome dress I like but it only comes to size 16. My fear in doing that would be I won't lose enough in the bust and it would never fit and then I would be out the money!

That is super! I know this is why this group is so supportive. We understand weight loss is not easy. It takes work and dedication. There are no quick fixes to losing weight. Hard work and a bunch of people supporting you because they are doing it also.

You are welcome! Great job!

Way to go! Any loss is good!

Must be the weather this week! I feel like my eating is out of wack too. I am having cravings for salty things. Not sure why..the good thing is I have been getting the exercise done. No judging every allowed...I think we have all fallen off the wagon at one point or another. The best thing to do is get up and jump right…

Well done "health freak mom" a new generation of health freaks. I am beginning to understand where nike got the phrase just do it! I was feeling kind of tired and kind of planning not to do much of a workout today. Well I decided to get on the treadmill and walk off 100 calories. I started playing with the speed and the…

Most of the Garmins or others that contain GPS will stop working if they sense you are not moving. So if your workouts are inside on equipment that stays in one place rather than outside running a HRM with GPS is not for you, or do they make one you can turn off the GPS so it still registers you HR and calories burned?

Good morning all! How did yesterday go? I fell off the wagon a bit and had some baked chips with tostito cheese dip. I was so hungry for extreme saltiness. Back to eating healthy today! What are your workout goals for today? I know I plan to do weights...I am thinking upper body only because my legs are a little sore this…

I started getting heavy periods a few after my youngest was born. The first doctor I saw told me it was part of the "aging process'. Moved to a new town and a new doctor. At first my periods were getting longer and longer so they put me on birth control to try and regulate them. When that did not work they did a uterine…

I know why now why I like running better than walking. Yesterday I did a 5k running most of with a little walking. It took 47 minutes and burned 452 calories. I walked a 5k today it took 66 minutes and burned 332 calories. I had been told once that walking a mile or running a mile burns the same amount of calories, its…

Yes! MFP sets a calories deficit for you to help you lose your 1-2 pounds per week. I usually enter 10-20% less than my HRM stated calorie burn. That gives me a margin of error and keeps me from eating back 100% of my exercise calories. You probably eat more on exercise days because your body is craving those calories to…

We always have frozen blueberries, cherries and strawberries in the freezer also.

I agree with you. I am doing 5k and now can run most of the way. I am new to running and have only been doing it on the treadmill but I feel so great when I am done. I actually have started feeling pretty good during the run!
-
The HRM is going to be more accurate!
-
Not sure but I know that jogging about 50 minutes I burn way over 500. I have never worn my HRM swimming!

Mamma kisses, I personally do not worry too much about going over on any one category, especially sugar if you eat a lot of yummy health fruit in a day it is very easy to go over. I usually go over on sodium (because I usually eat Weight Watcher's for lunch and eat a lot of pickles...they are crunchy, salty and yummy but…

I would use the one at home and weigh every day at the same time....first thing in am after using the toilet! Always use the same one as your guide. I don't think any home scale is 100% accurate but if you use the same one daily you get a good idea if your weight is going up or down!
