Ah, sorry no. If that were true, than why does the calculator you point to ask you to input weight? If it were unnecessary it wouldn't be there. There is going to be a difference of a couple hundred calories between a tall person and a short person, all else equal.

1) take thin sliced boneless skinless (or slice regular breasts to be thinner) 1.5) place on pan lightly coated with EVOO 2) top with a scoop of REAL pesto (the kind that is low calories because it is basil and real olive oil and not much else...you have to read a bunch of labels to find a good one because many pesto…

See, the bolded is actually pretty interesting. And if that is what OP had started this thread to say, I would have been totally receptive.
-
Okay. I think I'm getting this now. Let's summarize: OP: "People are mislead by the FDA. They think can only maintain on a paltry 1500 calories, but really they can maintain on 2000+ because of this new research I read but will not share." (ignores height, weight, muscle mass, activity level, age, gender.) MFPer; "Uh, I…

Amazing!!! The "weekends off" approach is what works for me as well. It is the only way I can stay sane through a diet. Your story made me tear up!! Congrats!
-
okay...First of all, you're only about 10lbs overweight, and I'm not sure why you think that 10lbs is going to make you vastly healthier. Seems like an entirely arbitrary cut off. Second, all calorie calculators predict that your TDEE is somewhere around 1800-1900. So if you are able to maintain on 2300 than you are either…
-
Fair enough. But at 5'8" and a healthy BMI somewhat active (on my feet for work) my TDEE is about 2100. If I go for a run or work out it is 2400+. At my goal weight (also a healthy BMI, but lower end) I'll be about 1900 if I'm inactive, around 2100+ if I work out. But that's beside the point. OP is making very odd and…
-
OP is bonkers, but to be fair this is misleading as well. Plenty women maintain at over 2000 calories. Very petitie women (5'3" and under) who are lightly active do not. Just saying. Pretty sure OP is trying to suggest that being heavy enough to maintain at 2000 is healthier than being a healthy BMI and maintaining at…

nevermind, I think I clicked okay before logging in. trying again now.

getting an "invalid procedure call" notification when it fails. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? This is beyond cool, btw. thank you so so much.
-
It looks like your stomach is smaller, and maybe your chest a little also. How many pounds difference is there between these photos? And how tall are you? I am 5'8" and it takes about 20lbs before there is any visible difference, and even then it is slight. I will need to hit 30lbs lost before the change is very visible at…
-
No way. I'm 5'8" 160lbs and body fat is well over 25% and I'm very average build and not overweight. She would have to be extremely muscular for this to be an accurate body fat measurement. She is probably closer to 30%.
-
its also possible that the BMI is set for someone taller....maybe it thinks she's a 6'3" male when she steps on it or something? OP, make sure your logging is super accurate. input recipes for the ethnic food if you have to. Other than that just be patient.
-
I'm 5'8" 160 and a 6/8. Some stores I have 10s, some stores I have 4s. I think I am somewhat "small" for my weight. My goal is to be 140-145 and a consistent 4. Everyone carries their weight very differently.

within like three days of eating paleo at about 1400 cals, my stomach FLATTENED and pants were looser. Obviously that is mostly bloat but it feels wonderful! I'm down 4 lbs in the challenge so far! On pace to be really close to 20 down by easter!!
-
I like this chart, but at the same time, I've got the arms of 40%, the stomach of 22%, the thighs of 30%, and the boobs of 25% sooo.....it definitly is helpful but doesn't answer every question. OP body fat calculators are notoriously inaccurately, both on the scale and with calipers or other methods. I totally get that…

It really sucks when a doctor won't believe you. I don't really see the downside to running the test if you are willing. I mean, you (and your insurance) will be the one paying for it, so I don't get why not. That said, hormones are often out of whack post-partum, so eat right for a bit and you'll be armed with more data…
-
okay well just in case OP doesn't have the desire or resources to embark on a heavy lifting plan (some people here forget that not everyone does).... There are a lot of free pilates videos on youtube that will definitely work those muscles. The only way they will shrink is if you lose fat, so make sure your diet is in line…

training for my third half. I've been better with my training schedule than my second, but not as good as I was with my first. Trying to buckle down over the next seven weeks! I find that I don't lose tons of weight while training, but that it falls off easily after I go back to normal workouts post-race. I think its just…

but if you allow negative adjustments this won't happen. So if she has it set up that way it should be okay. This confused me for a really long time so I will spell it out. If fitbit thinks I burned 2000 calories today including a run, and MFP thinks that run burned 500 cals and I log it in MFP, MFP will project that I…

Could not agree more. Hope you find my posts and some paleo mom blogs with good suggestions. Good luck!

YEP YEP YEP. God forbid someone minimize grains and dairy. Why do people get so hung up on the name? Its just a marketing ploy. None of the people I know who eat paleo do so because they actually want to replicate living like a cave man. It was this overarching narrative behind the diet, which in actuality is perfectly…

This is paleo. I'm not sure if the person who wrote it understood that or not (can't tell from context) but this is the essence of paleo and kids will (and do) eat these types of meals all the time. I like playing around with substitutes for the sake of variety and experimentation, but you can definitely keep it simple.
-
okay, clearly from the responses people have an odd idea what paleo is. If you ever ate a piece of meat with a side of broccoli as a kid, guess what? THAT WAS PALEO. OMG ARE YOU GOING TO RETROACTIVELY DIE AND HAVE A HORRIBLE CHILDHOOD NOW?!?!?!?! No. So calm the eff down. Google is your friend, OP. There are a TON of great…

Looks like you only have about ten pounds to lose, which probably means you are already a relatively healthy weight. When that is the case, you have to be really strict about staying under calories in order to lose, and loss will be slow and can be masked by water retention. Right now you are probably eating at a surplus,…

also, if it is the charge HR, it is possible that you have a higher than average resting heart rate and it is measuring calories based on that. Just a thought, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you.
-
Your weight will play a big role in how many calories you burned. Make sure your weight is input into fitbit properly
-
My boyfriend is 6'2" and about 210 pounds. On a day he exercises at all and gets to about 15,000 his chargeHR will say he burned about 3500 calories. It seems very accurate. Depending on your size and activity level it may very well be right. I use a fitbit flex. on days I go for a run or take more than 15,000 steps I burn…

haha no problem! Now I need to get one for beer for my bf....unfortunately beer is way more inconsistant with calories depending on the type and concentration. But I am LOVING it for wine!

I love lulu. I'm ashamed, I know its so trendy, but I can't help it. Love it. I'm an 8/6. 10 in bras (those things are made for little boobies I swear!) Would love to be a steady 4.
