Incredible story! Congratulations on changing your life (from a fellow Michigander)! I'll honk if I see you riding around :) Oh there's a great Mind Over Matter 40 mile bike ride (not a race) for Alzheimer's from St. Clair metro park to Grosse Pointe every August that you might enjoy!…

Hello! My schedule is very similar to yours. 4:15 Wake up 4:45 Work Out 8:00 Breakfast 11:30 Lunch 3:00 Snack 5:30 Dinner 9:30 Bed I'm definitely hungry by lunch but starving by dinner! I really don't have trouble after dinner but that's also when I eat the most calories. I also drink at least 100oz of water throughout the…

Jenn - 22:17 is awesome! Most likely not due to a small community! I'm trying to get under 25:04 this year which was my fastest ever in 2007 so it's been awhile lol!

I'll be running in honor of Meg tomorrow

I love the races! It seems like I have one every weekend in the summer! I love getting faster (and occasionally placing in my age group if I'm lucky!)! My goal this year is to PR my pre-babies 5K time, half-marathon time and sprint tri time :) I hate the winter and running on the dreadmill :(

Hey there! I'm a mom of two and down to my last 15lbs...well 13 to go now as of this morning :) I'm currently lifting 3 days/week and doing cardio/HIIT two days. The weights have made a HUGE difference! I have very few friends who actively log anymore so feel free to add me!

Amazing! You're exactly where I want to be! Love love love heavy lifting!

I also work full time and have two daughters 5 and 3. I switched to morning workouts toward the end of last year and it's had such a great impact on my life! Sure I have to go to bed a little earlier and get up at 4:15 but I get to the gym 5 days a week and rarely miss a workout. Plus I get to spend more time with the…

I wore tri shorts and a sports bra with a fitted tank over it. I swam in that and then just threw a shirt over it which had my bib pinned to it already for the bike and run. You could also just wear your suit and do the same. I'm in MI and doing one in mid-July and the water is warm enough where I won't need a wetsuit but…

Good luck with your training and meeting your goal! I'm a little jealous...but not enough to sign up for an Ironman ;)

Congratulations and amazing story! Thank you for sharing. You should be so proud of yourself!

Can you go in the morning when it's less crowded? Do you have another friend who can go with you? My friend and I started NROLFW about a year ago and it was much less intimidating starting out together. It only took a couple of times before I was confident in what I was doing and had no issues going on my own. I've also…

I've done a few sprints and love love love them! I second the swimming training though! Just make sure you're prepared especially if it's an open water swim. I trained in a pool and then went once or twice in the lake beforehand just to get used to it because lake swimming is so much different than a pool (choppy, murky,…

Amazing! Loved reading your story!

I'm thinking about starting SL too. I've been doing NROLFW for the last month or so but this is the second time around after taking a break and I think I need to try something new!

Great Story! I loved reading about your "Aha" moments and thought progression as you put together the baby steps that are leading to your success! Congratulations!

That's awesome! Wait until finish your 5k and have that feeling of accomplishment! Bet you sign up for a 2nd :)

This is all sorts of awesome! Lift on!!!

I also have two little girls and work full time so I struggle with this as well! I was going to the gym two nights a week and then Saturday mornings and taking the girls to the gym daycare which worked out ok but cost extra money and I didn't get to spend much time with them on those nights. Two weeks ago I started going…

I put one of my hand weights on my scale to see if it's adjusted to the right weight and then only use my scale and at the same time of day once a week
