Here's a different perspective for ya. A couple months ago I was having these uncontrollable cravings, I mean I could eat a huge meal and 15 minuets later feel like I'm starving again. I stopped losing weight because I just couldn't resist feeding those cravings. I was eating/drinking protein but it just wasn't doing…

No but the other day I was talking to a co-worker who I would consider not even close to being fat and found out I weighed less than him. It was a mind blowing experience and I remember thinking I can't think of myself as being fat anymore.

I'm pretty sure you got your answer but just in case you needed one more positive comment about fitbit, I love mine so much, it has become a healthy addiction for me, if I'm driving to work and realize I forgot mine, I turn around and go get it, even if that makes me late for work! When I started, I was only walking about…

On the MFP home tab, click on settings, then on diary settings, scroll down till you see diary sharing and chose public and then save settings. We will then be able to see your diary and help you get over this hump.

Ok, so here's the deal. I am a reformed fast food addict and I say no to McDonalds. What I have found is that even the healthy choices at fast food joints are loaded with calories and sodium. The last time I ate at McDonalds, it left this greasy feeling in my mouth and this heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach which my…

Looks like you're ready for a new scale

Most of you have valid points so let's switch gears. A lot of us got the way were (are) by not having a clue what to eat, if people allow us to see their diary it gives us the opportunity to see what other people are eating so that we can try those healthy foods ourselves. The open diary thing isn't so much about wanting…

Track, track, track. Everything, everyday. If you see what your putting in your body you will be less likely to keep putting it in your body that is if you are in fact serious about losing weight. We got to where we were (are) by making bad food choices, this journey is all about changing that mindset.

Wow, and I thought it was just me. Ultimately you have to do what's right for you. Sometimes you have to trim the fat and if that's in the form of un-supportive friends, so be it. It's beyond me why people who claim to care about us can be so un-caring. MFP is an amazing place to find true friends and although there may be…

I'm with the rest, don't let one slip up turn into oh crap I'm a smoker again. Hang in there and know that you'll be so much healthier as a non smoker.

I hope that's not the case. For me I work at a school and towards the end of the year things get crazy.

Weight loss is an emotional journey as well and being an emotional eater myself, I have learned that it's all about the choices we make when we choose to eat emotionally. Keep in mind this doesn't happen overnight. For me grapes are a wonderful emotional food. I can eat a bunch of them and it allows me to take out my…

I don't consider this a diet but rather a lifestyle change. I am always looking for new friends so please hit me up and we'll do this together.

I too have been researching buying a bike and have found that you just cant get a quality (comfortable) bike for less than $400.00 I know that seems like a lot of money but the ones they sell in the non-bike stores are of very cheep quality and are not comfortable at all which in the end is going to discourage you from…

Looks like most who have responded are women, I'm not but I've had an amazing waist size decrease. I was wearing a size 48 waist back in January of this year and I am now wearing a size 38 waist and oh yeah, I've dropped 43 lbs as well.

I love my fitbit, it far exceeds what I expected. Craziest thing I found out with fitbit........I sleepwalk. I kept seeing this activity during the wee hours of the morning and I'm not talking about going to the bathroom activities, sometimes up to 100 steps. That got my curosity up and I set up a camera and sure enough,…

Great job, that's awesome.

No need to feel guilty about a dream. If you do something for any length of time, it's only natural for you to think or dream about it as long as you don't act apon it. you're all good.

I'm not familiar with oil pulling so I can't comment on that. Just make sure you intake of calories is less than your burned calories. It's kind of a simple concept but it really works. If you're not already, track everything you put in your body and that will give you a good idea if your diet is on track. remember diet…

Ok, let me man up and be the first to say, I am one of those who completely eliminated egg yokes from his diet, but this weight loss journey is a learning experience. Now I need to go do some reading research cause I'd love to start having the whole egg again. Thanks for opening my eyes. A little embarassing but I'm…

Net calories work differently on different people, me personally they have little meaning cause anything I eat over 1500 calories = a weight gain for me, no matter the amount of exercise I get, but I do know people who have to eat their bonus calories. Try to keep a net calorie of 1200 for a while and see how that works…
