  • That was happening to me when I first started walking/jogging 2+ miles, I wore open shoes sandals to get my feet air and just newsprint, never heard of mole skin but maybe worth a shot, hopefully they heal up fast. Also someone told me to put deodorant on my feet/toes to help prevent blisters, once they're healed of…
  • Mine didn't for the longest time, I didn't share that piece of info with anyone willingly...it was even difficult getting weighted at the doc's office...but only these last couple weeks i've begun to share...and we've been together off and on for 18 YEARS!!!! LOL
  • I eat (well lately not been AS GOOD but in general) lots of veggies for snacking, they're very low-cal, low-fat and you or at least I honestly get tired of eating before I can finish them. Lean cuts of meat, lots of fish and chicken, whole grains, low-fat or non-fat cheeses, dressings and etc...and a lot of water!
  • Yep, I do switch shoes, I have some lightweight walking shoes that I wear when I do the elliptical, thanks
  • Forgot to answer this part. I started out small with 1 mile, then I got all the way up to approximately 2.5 miles. That's when I was outdoor jogging, I had to move it inside to the gym and treadmill because I kept getting really awful migraines (I'm a chronic migraine case). Then I moved up to 3.5 miles, then up to about…
  • Really wish I could do this too! Btw, what is a running store? Do you mean like Sports Authority or ****s type store or something else, smaller? I suppose I could look just to get an idea, and maybe I could save up... :embarassed:
  • I can certainly see the point of view of it being evidence of the hard work, definitely is! Just trying to find some ways to limit the painful toes :glasses:
  • I have NEVER heard of that! I'm gonna try it as I just so happen to have some "Secret" on hand  Thanks so much for this simple thing to try, I'm always short on money so getting fitted and actually being able to afford new running shoes may not be an option for me...now I just have to figure about the cuts I get…
  • Lately I've only been running indoors on the treadmill which should be easier than pavement and such...Maybe I could try the dirt track at the high school in the evenings...
  • Bwahahahahahahahahahaahaaaa            :glasses:
  • My trainer actually recommended if I do a protein shake at night as last snack, to drink it at least a few HOURS BEFORE I go to bed, because it will give me energy and I won't sleep well with all that energy and also so I have time to burn off some of the cals from it. Also was recommended I add an evening walk or some…
  • thanks =)
  • Never thought of medical type, if the socks don't help much I shall try that as well, thanks. And thank you everyone for the input and suggestions, it's been really helpful!
  • I see the doc soon, so I'm going to ask him about this and have him check my iron to see if i'm still anemic like i used to be, thanks for the reminder
  • I got them that way, because sometimes the feet swell I think...idk, I can see that I do need to get it checked out though, thanks for the reply =)
  • hmmmm, i had no idea they would do all that, though that would have to wait until i have more money, shoes are considerably more expensive than socks :P
  • I got them from a shoe store not a sports store, but they do have good shock absorption, I know this because one day I accidentally wore my walking shoes to the gym and that was painful.
  • Thank you, those would be those soft squishy socks they sell next to all the fitness wear right? I was considering that, I'll go get some today. I forgot to mention I've been using band-aids to wrap my toes and try to help but they usually end up sliding down and offering little protection. :)
  • I think a big part of it is genetics and where your body stores fat too. At my thinnest I was a very full34D. As I gained weight my boobs got out of control while my band size pretty much stayed the same, got all the way up to a 34F, which imo is way too large. Went in for a consult for breast reduction and the doc said I…
  • 1.) I'm addicted to facebook 2.) I used to really hate fish and vegetables but now I LOVE them! 3.) I have this weird annoying habit of always playing with my hair and it drives me so crazy but I can't stop! lol 4.) I love the ocean :) 5.) I always think I'm so super tall until I head out into the real world and find out…
  • I'm 5'5" and my goal is also 135, thats my best weight historically...
  • I'm the opposite it seems... I started out walking/jogging outdoors but ended up where I almost have to use the treadmill indoors because the bright sun and heat of outdoors was triggering severe migraines for me each time I went out and there were more than a few occasions I was really worried about being able to make it…
  • WOW! Kuddos to you!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Goals for June: 1.) Finally meet my goal distance of 5 miles on the treadmill. 2.) Do my stretches as prescribed by my physical therapist daily 3.) Go to the gym 5 days per week for cardio and alternating weight/strength exercises 4.) Get my weight below 150 pounds. (I'm currently at 159.5 as of this morning)
  • I have a small garden area that I work on from time to time when my back permits :) I have roses a tomato plant, a jalapeno plants, a few other flowering plants, 2 kinds of aloe vera, a cherry tree, some other kind of fruit tree and some plants i can't even remember what they are, lol. • My highest weight was 189 pounds...I was in a state of disbelief about it. I've had 3 children and even at NINE months pregnant with my 1st 2 kids I only ever got up to 149 pounds, with my 3rd I got up to 162 and that was only because I was bedridden the last 2 months of pregnancy. I guess I never realized how lucky I was…
  • We have eaten turkey bacon in this house for years, simply because it's healthier for my kids and we all like it, it tastes pretty darn good. I buy the Oscar Meyer brand from costco, comes in a 4 pack and its much cheaper than the real bacon, which is another reason I buy it. That being said, we do also eat actual pork…
  • I can't do pushups at all due to my left wrist being messed up (doc doesn't know if it's arthritis or carpal-tunnel or what) and my right hand can't take much stress, so it sucks...because that means I can't do dips either, and those are excellent for shaping up the triceps, so instead I do what I can as an alternative on…

  • I just downloaded this app to my blackberry yesterday, haven't got a chance to use it yet, but now that the kids will be on summer vacation soon, i'm sure I'll be taking them on lots of walks, hikes and bike rides so can't wait to try it out! :glasses:
