I think you will like this site. It has really helped me to get going in the right direction. Good luck & best wishes to you :flowerforyou: And keep in mind - it's all a matter of perspective... I know a lot of people (including myself  ) who would love to be 153lbs!!!!

I think to eat or not to eat your exercise calories is a personal decision - neither one is right or wrong. For myself, I have made good progress in 5wks time. Not eating my exercise calories has played a big part in my success so far. And it is always a good idea to leave a little room when calculating your total calories…

You are very young & have a lot of responsibilities. I am twice your age with 2yr old son, a husband, a Great Dane, an elderly father, a deceased mother, and a demanding job. What keeps me going is the constant reminder of my mother's early death due to obesity. I can't imagine putting my little boy thru the pain I…

Sounds like your food choices may be the issue. Try aiming for a lower total calorie amount for each day rather than eating just low calorie foods. Unfortunately, the foods you like are high in calories - my grandma was from Texas and I know how good southern food is! I am fairly new to this site, but so far what…

Welcome! :flowerforyou: I am also fairly new and I think you will like this site. Being diabetic will make this journey more challenging, but it also makes it extremely important!!! My advice: Keep your food journal religiously, be sure to drink your water, and do not eat your exercise calories. Best of luck to you

We are leaving on Sunday for a 4 day trip to a family resort. This is only my second week of calorie counting & exercising. Things have been going very well, but I am afraid of losing my groove during vacation. Should I try to figure out the calories I'm eating & keep my daily logs? Or maybe log the foods w/o calorie…

WELCOME!!! :flowerforyou: Best of luck to you on this new journey...

We all blow it from time to time... It's just part of being human. Just do your best to put it behind you and focus on the future - your successful future! Your tummy is definately waving the white flag after today! :ohwell:

Ever heard of Xenical? It's a prescription product, generic/chemical name orlistat. You take it with meals & it works by binding to dietary fat which interfers with absorption into the small intestine. The bound up fat is excreted in the stool. If you eat too much fat, you get very fatty stools and even some liquid fat…

You have lost 231lbs!!!! That is truly amazing and so inspirational. I am new to this site and have over 100lbs to lose. It's nice to know I am not the only really big gal on this site  My first weigh in is in 2 days. I have not seen any negative comments, yet. It saddens & worries me that people can be so mean. I am…

Don't do it!! These products are not only a complete waste of money but can even be dangerous in some cases. Because they are considered "supplements" there is not FDA/government monitoring like there is with prescription products. Most diet pills contained ephedrine which is now banned due to cases of heart attack &…

Thanks to all for the support and kind words. Joining this site was a really big step for me... just admitting that I can't do it alone is huge. Thanks so much for the love:heart: I think I am going to like it here

I just signed up today and finished making my food diary entries. I am looking forward to the journey ahead, but I am also somewhat hesitant. I help people for a living but refuse to ask for help myself. That's how I have ended up where I am now... very over weight. I have come to the realization that in order to suceed I…
