Bump for egg cooking tips!
-
Of course I agree with all that, but Pu is not one of those people which is why I responded. He in no way promotes eating disordered behavior as you can see by his many many posts.
-
This is MFP's program. Weight Watchers has their own program, which is very successful and quite possible has people eating below their BMR as BMR is not mentioned. OP should perhaps email the creators or moderators or customize the calorie options or find a program that fits with her beliefs.
-
Yes, at most likely 800 calories which is considered a VLCD. No one on this post is remotely suggesting 800 calories. 800 calories is obviously way below everyone's BMR.
-
A VLCD is usually described as 800 calories. In any case, as stated in the abstract, the participants had their resting metabolic rate tested by oxygen expenditure, not by putting their numbers into a website calculator.
-
You have just joined. He does not promote eating disorders. BMR calculators online are estimates. He stated that actual numbers may vary. For the OP, perhaps make it less difficult for yourself. Choose a calorie goal you are comfortable with, even if it is higher than what MFP states. If it works for you, keep it up. If…

here we go again. and "be douche with everyone"? WTF?
-
I agree of course! So according to the calculators, my TDEE is 1,719. If I minus 343 which is 20%, it gives me 1,376. Which is just 76 calories more than 1,300. When I exercise, I eat more and on weekends I splurge occasionally. My point is, why is that considered laughable or ignorant? This is to lose weight of course. My…

Those same people will state that no one is unique, no one is a snowflake and the same method will work for everyone. My comment was directed to the person who stated that they lose the same on 1,800 as they do on 1,200. That is not the case for the previous poster I mentioned. Nothing to do with grammar police. This post…
-
As a previous poster stated, she gained at 1,800 and her TDEE is 1,760!
-
That does not make it laughable, nor unsustainable if they have been doing so for over 5 years. Abnormally low according to whom?
-
1,300 calories is not laughable to these people, in this peer reviewed journal article. Quote: Successful maintainers of weight loss reported continued consumption of a low-energy and low-fat diet. Women in the registry reported eating an average of 1,306 kcal/day These women have kept their weight off for 5 or more years.…

I'm in!

I think people come with their own beliefs already. So we tend to listen to those who confirm our own beliefs. That is why the 1,200 calorie folks are not going to immediately jump ship and follow the eat more folks. We look for things to confirm what we already believe deep down. We should all do what works for us, and if…

I did that for years; complain about being fat but not doing anything about it. No one changes until they are ready, just like you and just like me. So it's not your job to do anything about it really. We all have annoying coworkers, for one reason or another. As adults, we have to learn to live with people who annoy us.…

This! I developed gestational diabetes while pregnant and continued with insulin resistance afterwards. People ARE different and I'm sick of the people who say we are all the same!
-
I'm not going under and I'm not complaining.
-
This. I am barely 5'2", eat 1,200, have all my hair, normal energy, have lost slow and steady, and have normal blood sugar and blood pressure again. Both of which my doctor is very happy about. Do what works for you and leave others alone.
-
I stalled for about 3 weeks after starting boot camp classes. I finally lost again this week. I agree with the muscles retaining water after starting a strength program. As for me, I don't eat them back but I eat maybe 100-200 more on exercise days.

Broccoli slaw, tossed with galeos ginger wasabi miso dressing, refrigerate for an Asian cole slaw. Can add spring onions, peanuts, chicken etc! But great alone as a side dish. The dressing is 45 calories for 2tbsp. Broccoli slaw is 25 calories for a huge serving!

Bump

I drink less. I won't cut it out completely as I plan for it to be a part of my life, but I save it for weekends. My problem is the junk food I crave after a few drinks!

Mine are probably with yours somewhere! I think it's partially genetics. My bff had a baby 12 months ago, is losing weight (17 lbs so far) and hers are perky and just as full as they ever were. I had a baby 7 months ago, mine sagged after my milk was gone. I have lost 23 lbs and my boobs are shrinking smaller and smaller.…

5'2" here, from 173 (3 months post partum) to 150! Still have a ways to go!
-
Ok here I go, first time ever for pics! On the left, 175 and now 150 in the same jeans Sorry so big!
-
I would say do nothing. People are going to do what they want to do. If someone suggested to me to change my eating habits before I was ready to, I would not have listened and I would have been very pissed off. It is up to her to change, not up to you to change her. At one point, people would have looked at my food choices…

I think this may work for those very close to goal weight as you seem to be.

Me!!! Since February. I think this is how my body loses.

I only walk, although I do it for an hour, 3 days a week. Maybe 4. For me, the biggest factor in weight loss is calories. But I have a lot more to lose than you perhaps if you only have 9 to go. I have lost 21 and have another 20 to go. I think everyone is different and if something worked for you, maybe go back to it. I…
