I still eat pretty much all the foods I ate before just less of them. I don't typically eat anything fried unless I go out to eat, try to eat whole grains and fresh fruits and veggies as much as possible and try not to over eat on junk food. I am trying to make changes that I can incorporate for a life time so I can keep…

I would suggest picking a weigh in morning and only stepping on the scale once a week. I personally use Monday because it works for me but I have friends who prefer a mid week weigh in because they go over calories on the weekend. Anyway you will have less chance of the natural ups and downs of your weight bothering you if…

Have you been doing any strength training? If you are tightening things up and losing inches then you will drop sizes sooner. I have lost 12 pounds and am starting to wear some of the clothes that I out grew 20lbs ago on the way up. Jeans are always hard to judge though - they stretch and shrink so much that it is hard to…

I use 3 lb weights too. There are a few exercises that I could do more on but there are others that I don't think I could make it with more. You don't really stop for rest anywhere in between so by then end I feel like my arms are going to fall off. I think that those who are doing heaving lifting are doing actual weight…

Budget some calories for a night time snack and make it something with some protein, that usually helps me. Then once you have had your snack go brush your teeth. Usually once I have done that it is easier for me to convince myself I am done eating for the night.

I would definitely up your calories. I am 5' 7.5" starting weight was 186 goal weight 158. I set my weight loss goal at 1 lb a week which started me out eating just over 1600 calories a day. After losing the first 10 lbs I readjusted my goals an now am just under 1600 a day. I exercise 30 minutes a day 3 times a week and…

Yawning gives your body more oxygen quickly. Did you ever watch Apolo Anton Ohno warm up for speed skating events at the Olympics. He would yawn several times while skating around the track. I saw an interview where they asked him about it and that was his reply.

occasionally I have a small cheat day at home where I eat closer to maintenance calories. My real cheat days are when I go out to eat which is maybe 1-2 times a month. Last week I had one of those days. I ate about 800 or so calories for breakfast and lunch then didn't log my dinner because it was a local restaurant and I…

I plan on eating what ever I want on Easter but not going hog wild. :) Since I started in January I have had days off or "cheat days" for Super Bowl, Valentine's Day, my birthday, and a GNO last week. I try and eat really good leading up to those days and exercise if I can that day (but won't for Easter because its Sunday).

I eat pretty much everything I did before just not quite as much. I have cut back on cheese and condiments but not really much else. I don't eat out very often and try to avoid eating too much processed foods. The latest food guide that my kids schools have been pushing is called My Plate. According to this guideline you…

yeah if you watch for it there are several places where Natalie cheats :)

I don't worry too much about the red other than sodium. I have ended days under my calorie goal and been over in carbs, protein, and fat. Last time I checked those are the only ways you get calories so I'm not sure how that works out (mine are on the MFP default settings)

30 day shred is a good workout that is quite popular around here. The whole workout takes about 25 minutes and it works. You can get it for $10 and all you need is hand weights and a mat.
-
yes you need to eat those calories. Your MFP calorie goal is what you eat if you aren't exercising. If you exercise then you need more calories to fuel your body. Your net calories at the end of the day should be close to the same as your goal.

I am a curvy girl and here 's what I look for in a jean to make me look slimmer: misses sizes, dark wash, wide or trouser leg, mid rise (below belly button about an inch) the misses sizes are way more forgiving than juniors, dark wash, wide leg makes you look taller and thinner, higher rise hides any muffin top issues.

About 6 months after baby #4 I started doing pilates videos. They really helped me get back into shape (unfortunately I let it creep back up a few years later). Just Dance is good cardio too.

How many calories do you intake before exercise? 1560 is my setting - I try to hit it + or - 150 calories How many exercise calories do you burn a day? How many of those do you eat? I burn 300- 350 calories per session and I eat back all of them How many days a week do you work out? usually 3 Do you set your calories at…

plan for a snack, preferably something high in protein. Weigh or measure it out and bring it with you so you know exactly how many calories you are consuming and then eat it. You may have to cut back a little on dinner to stay within your calories goals but if you are hungry in the afternoons all the time then you will…

I track carbs, protein, fat, sodium and fiber. I tend to have a rather slow digestive tract and feel so much better if I am eating more fiber so I like to see how I am doing there.

Weight fluctuates a lot during the day, week, month, etc. I weigh in once a week at roughly the same time (first thing Monday morning works for me) and I take my measurements every 2 weeks. If you are exercising then the measurements may change more than the scale as things tighten up and move around. I also have noticed…

I am 5' 7.5" and I would say I am also "long boned" like another poster said and have a more athletic build (or at least I used to). Shoe size is 10 and I buy all my jeans/pants with a 34" inseam. I have never worn jackets smaller than a large because they are either too tight across the shoulders or too short in the arms.…

I have been doing 30 Day shred but if you haven't done much strength training I wouldn't do it more than 3 times a week with rest in between. After my 4th baby I did a lot of pilates videos and they helped me get back into shape. They are not quite as intense as Jillian but still strengthen your core.

I like it. I have lost inches and am feeling much stronger now then when I started. I did not do it in 30 days however. I had not been working out at all before I started and my goal is to workout 3 times a week. I did level one for 3 times a week for 3 weeks then moved on to level 2 for 3 weeks then level 3 for 3 weeks.…

oh also try taking a few notes on your diaries, mood, stress etc. and look for patterns in your weight loss. Stress can have an effect on your weight loss for sure. For me I have already noticed that I seem to have a bigger weight loss just before my period and then the week I'm on my period I have little weight loss or a…

remember it is a life style change. You didn't gain it all in a month and you're not going to lose it all in a month. I need to loose 25-30 pounds. It crept up on me over the last 5 years so I know it's going to take a while to get it back off. I am hoping to most of it in about 6 months. A pound a week, slow and steady,…

I think it's better to eat what you're craving now then to deny yourself so long that you over eat later. If I am craving something I eat it. First I check out the calorie count though and measure out exactly how much I want to allow myself to eat. Then I eat it very slowly and savor every bite.

there is a modifier for 30 DS but the basics of it is just don't do the moves as deep. I had a couple of knee injuries in high school and since then I have always had a problem with lunges. I don't even begin to try to do the lunges as deep and never do any jumping lunges.

I don't believe in diets. I personally am trying to make some changes to my eating habits that will help me be healthier. I am trying to eat more fruits and veggies, less processed foods and junk and I am trying to move more. Until 6 weeks ago when I joined MFP I had never even counted calories before. My main reason for…
