This. It helped me tremendously when I started making a conscious effort to land on my left foot when exhaling...I actually time my foot falls and get into a rhythm, breathing in and out on a certain number of steps. I used to get the stitches so bad it would still hurt days later in that same spot. The best remedy is to…

Good plan. And watch your sodium intake. That part won't help you lose weight, but it will help keep you from retaining an excess amount of water. Good luck!

I have no advice, but I was the same way. It did not happen after my 13 mile training run, but it did happen after the actual race. (and it wasn't because I went faster in the race...I actually did the training run faster, because it was a Disney half and there were lots of photo opps...lol!) Good luck with trying not to…

I would just like to add that even though it seems like a "no fail" way of doing things, you do have to remember that TDEE, BMR, and calories burned from exercise are just estimates. So with that in mind, try to make sure that your food diary is as accurate as possible. Measure, weigh and keep track of everything you eat…

This was me also. I carried around the last 10 lbs of baby fat until after I stopped nursing. Then it came off with no problem. Not sure why...but it happened after both kids.

I'm 5'10.5" I wear an 8 1/2 in regular shoes and a 9 in running shoes. My regular shoe size did go up to a 9 when I was pregnant but went back down when the swelling went down and the baby weight came off.

This made me LOL. Not at you...at myself! I was totally afraid of falling off the back of the treadmill the first time I got on one. I am still a little afraid of falling off the side of it (I'm not so graceful and do much better outside where I have as much room as needed!). I also still get a little scared I will…

Check with hotels in the area...some may have their own shuttles that go to the park, but...they may not have them up and going as early/late as you need to get there. The Disney resort shuttles know when the races start and finish and they will be running at the hours you need them to. That being said, still give yourself…

This. Except the ipod shuffle. I listened to music when I started running to keep me going...but now I much prefer listening the sounds of nature and I feel safer without my earbuds in because I run on streets and I need to hear what is going on around me. I've only been running for a little over a year, but I still can't…

No, if you exercise, you are not sedentary. You need to plug in the amount of exercise you intend on doing. That is the point of using TDEE. If you are going to use sedentary and count exercise calories seperately, you can just use MFP.
-
I had success using both the TDEE formula and MFP. Lost approx 15 pounds using MFP guideline and approx 15 pounds using TDEE. They are really going to work about the same way if you are using MFP correctly (i.e.--you put in the correct daily activity rate and you are eating back most, if not all of your exersice calories).…

Cooriander, I am so sorry for your loss. My Dad passed away in Dec. 2011 and that is the reason I started running. I needed something to focus on to keep me going. Hoping that your running will help you through this too.

I really hope that everyone that has read this really paid attention to the dates by your photos. The amount of time, energy, and patience you put into this transformation is really awe inspiring! Congratulations!! Success isn't easy or fast, but by the smile on your face in those photos, it is definitely worth it!!

I like the Nike + running app (you can use it for walking also). It is pretty accurate with distance as long as it is not too cloudly outside (then the gps system can make it REALLY inaccurate--the app will warn you ahead of time if this is going to be an issue). It's free, you should try it

I don't know that it is common, but it appears to be more than rare. The FDA has issued a black box warning, that I clearly did not see, about running while taking this class of medication because of potential injuries. ETA: I have run with a stomach bug before. I may be a little more dedicated than I should be at this…
