I got smoked by a mom pushing a double jogging stroller at my last 5k. I mean by like 10 minutes!! It didn't hurt my feelings though...i just thought..."man, she is awesome...i wish i could do that!!"
-
If you run about a 12 min mile that will put you finishing in less than 37 minutes. My avg 5k time is between 36-37 minutes and I've had 70 year olds finish in front of me and 20 year olds finish behind me and you know what?? noone even noticed. We were all just happy to have finished  I vote...go for it!!

8/7--2.25 miles 8/8-- .5 miles (warm up run) so that's 2.75 miles for the week, and 11.75 miles total for the month. Lazy week and now it looks like I have a lot of ground to cover (literally) to catch up for the month :ohwell:

For me, it's usually just a calorie thing (maybe I should, but I have NO concerns about the cholesterol or the fat at this point). I can just eat more egg whites...about 17 calories each...than whole eggs..about 70 calories each and it fit's into my daily goal better. That's it. Oh, and if it's a boiled egg, I don't really…

^^^i think that is a valid reason.... there are only 5 treadmills at my work gym, 2 are just alike, but one is...i don't know...more grounded/stable than the other. I like it better. doesn't matter if 4 treadmills are avail, if someone is right next to mine, i'm still getting on mine. and if it's taken, i'm getting on the…

^^^ THIS and the breathing thing. I'm usually ok until i start getting tired around 2.5 miles, then I start getting side stitches from shallow breathing. If I keep running through it I can make it about 3.5 miles before I need a walk break. I'm up to 5 miles now and I'll be trying 7 miles tomorrow morning. Hopefully the…

I have no advice, just wanted to say I feel your pain. I also started at 180 in January and I had a 3 MONTH plauteau at 158/159, I finally got down to 156 a few weeks ago and now I'm back up to 157. Not sure how tall you are, but I'm about ready to give and just go on maintenance at this weight (if feels like that is what…

I work full time and have two kids. My daughter is 18 months and my son is 5. He likes to go on walks with me and I have a jogging stroller that I will take my daughter out in once in a while. If you are not into jogging, I agree with the above poster that walking/pushing the stroller is great exercise. I also workout…

I think people just carry their weight differently. I'm 5'10", weigh 158 and am a size 10. The only time I've ever even been down to a size 8 I was about 145. I am pear shaped though, smaller up top, wider around the hips/butt area.

This is what I was going to say, but that's only for some people and only if you are eating a lot of protein...like at least 100g per day. Sounds like you are using MFP standard guidelines, which are quite low for protein.
-
I'm 5'10" and my husband is 6ft even. My son has always been around 30-50th percentile for height...the doctor's projection at age 2 was that he would be 5'8" as an adult...how did that happen? He is 5 now and currently around 45 inches (about 50th percentile still). My daughter is 2 and she was around 10th percentile for…

You'll be fine. Protein is a good thing and the estimates MFP give are low. I struggle to reach my protein levels so kudos to you for exceeding yours. Think of the protein goal as just that, a goal to exceed, not something to try to stay below. Happy eating!

In my opinion, having your diary open IS asking for advice. If you don't care what others think about what you are eating, why would you open your diary in the first place? All diaries are set to private when you start on this site and you have to manually go in and change the setting to allow others to view it. I have my…

I remember some highly entertaining and completely inappropriate comments made about one President Clinton as well (aka "Slick Willy"). Just saying...there will always be people who make nasty comments and jokes about EVERYONE in politics...they knew this when they signed up. Whether it is right or wrong...it's definitely…

Played wiffle ball and kickball in the backyard, tag/freeze tag, basketball, pretty much anything involving a ball in the middle of the street...4-square was my favorite! Rode by bike up and down the same street over and over again. "Borrowed" my older brother's speed skates (roller skates) and went skating up and down the…

I know right? It's crazy. I will never be able to fit into a size 6 pair of jeans...I have a pear shape, so I guess it's understandable. I've only been down to an 8 once in my adult life at like 145 and I looked sickly...

Thanks! Congrats to you...you are well on your way to where you want to be :)

Update: I'm down to 157 and I finally got back into my size 10s! I can still wear the 12s...they are just getting a little saggy and the 10s fit alot nicer now :)

Publix grocery stores carry the salad dressings (not sure if you have those there...)

I always eat breakfast food there, no matter the time. I love the multigrain pancakes with sugar free syrup. They also have egg substitute available (just in case you ever go for breakfast)
