I think it's all in the planning. We went on vacay to Colorado a couple of weeks ago (I was 7 or 8 weeks out at the time). I took 100 cal packs of almonds as well as packets of protein for breakfast. Once there, bought lots of water, extra pre-made shakes and yogurt-didn't care if I left unused items-just wanted it there…

As a pharmacist, the fact is, they work only short term and when you stop taking them 99% of the people gain it back. Much smarter to make long term lifestyle changes "eat right and exercise".

I'm only 2 weeks out, so I'm no expert by any means, but from what I know, the answer to your question is "no, the head hunger does not change". Surgery fixes physical hunger, not the mental. This is the reason I have yo yo'd my whole adult life. I am going to focus on addressing the head hunger, otherwise I'll gain weight…
