  • It depends. If you are insulin resistant, then your body will have trouble processing carbs to use them as fuel and will tend to shunt them straight to fat storage...particularly in your abdominal area. This is why women with PCOS have such a hard time losing weight and often find it beneficial to restrict their carb…
  • Realllllllllly? So, if my spouse "warns" me and I don't "behave" it's ok for him to give me a slap? Are you just trolling or are you actually a misogynist?
  • You know that you are from Humboldt Co. California when: You drive with your windows down and your heater on Anything over 80 degrees feels like being baked to death You are totally flummoxed by people who use umbrellas You laugh at other people's ideas of a "big" tree No one except pot enthusiasts have ever heard of where…
  • Well, if being pregnant IS a possibility then you might want to take a test. If it's negative, don't worry much.
  • Plus, Aldi's starts their cashiers out at $11.50/hour while walmart pays it's people crap and tells them to go sign up for food stamps. It's been a long time since I stepped foot inside a walmart, and I have no regrets.
  • Hey! I live in Norman.
  • You are welcome to add me as well. You CAN do this. It can seem daunting when you've got a lot to lose, but if you take it one day at a time, you will get there...and you will be so glad you did.
  • Peanut butter and pickle sandwich. My friend's mother made me one when I was 12 and I didn't want to be rude by refusing. Everyone in her family love's the stupid things...but they are just gross and wrong.
  • I've lost 89 lbs so far and don't really have tooooo much excess skin, but I figure that if I have the grit to accomplish 89+ lbs of weight loss and maintain it...I totally have what it takes to save up for a skin reduction surgery IF I decide that I really want one.
  • Yay, Cookies!! May I have one for me AND one for my toddler?
  • You say that you've tried to lose weight many times before. My question is, were those plans sustainable ones? Something you could continue to do for a lifetime without feeling like you were starving or going out of your mind? If the answer is "no" then that's probably why you didn't stick with them. If they were…
  • I usually just use the butter (but less than called for like you did). It's a fairly healthy fat when consumed in moderation and it's just YUM. I'd much rather use the real food most of the time than it's invented and low cal. contemporary though. I have used the fake butter sprays a few times on toast and they are ok but…
  • Anytime I see a hot dog or sausage link being prepared on a roller-thingy with a heat lamp...I MUST have one. Especially if it's a red-hot. I do not care how stale the bun is. Put some mustard on that bad boy and stand back cuz I'm going to tear it up.
  • Add meeeeeee! Seriously. :) I feel your pain and I know that it is a huge help to have supportive friends on here.
  • Honestly, when I feel like that it's usually because I have a lot of other stuff going on that is demanding lots of attention or energy. I cut myself a little slack, but I don't quit altogether. Quitting is failing, and that is something that I refuse to do.
  • Hello! I also have PCOS. I was diagnosed in my early twenties after years of very obvious symptoms and am currently 36. I've lost 85lbs so far without medication or starvation, so it IS possible to achieve your goals with PCOS. Sometimes it just takes a little longer. :drinker:
  • pretzels are my favorite. Veggies are also yummy.
  • I bet it would be really easy to incorporate it into some really tasty oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies.

  • I'm on here every day and while I'm not always super chatty, I will try to be supportive. Feel free to add me.
  • One thing I like to do is it a really healthy & low cal meal at home, then go out and just order a decadent dessert. I love sweets and when your digging into a hot fudge sundae nobody says jack.
  • I am lazy. I broil my veggies. Almost everything is yummy tossed with a tiny bit of olive oil, sprinkled with a little sea salt and broiled. Some things have their yumminess increased by squeezing on a little fresh lemon juice too.
  • One person donating blood one time can help as many as 7 people. Eat whatever you gotta eat to get you through and call it a win...because saving lives and stuff. :)
  • I'm starting to treat working out like any other maintenance activity (bathing, brushing teeth etc). It's not selfish, no more so than going to the doctor when you are sick or handing your SO the kids when you need to grab a shower. It's basic self care, it's NOT a luxury. Now, the 30min-1 hour I spend watching TV while I…
  • I don't like Subway because I am a bread snob. The bread they have leaves me dissatisfied. It's a great choice if you are on the run and need something fast-foodish that fits into your cals for the day though.
  • You feel free to post your progress pics annnnnnny time. :blushing: I don't think anyone will mind.
  • I'd really like to know if there is any correlation between avg. calories consumed per day & longevity of use/achievement of goals?
  • This. Alllll this.
  • I can totally relate! My 3 year old thinks mommy working out means it's time to climb her. I had to join a gym with a daycare. :)
  • I'm working a 12 hour shift at the hospital, but I've already got the easter basket set out for my daughter and I've hidden plastic eggs around the house. :) I WILL be eating Reece's mini's though. No power on earth could stop me.

  • I don't do low carb, but I can see how it works for a lot of women with PCOS. That having been said, I've lost a little over 80lbs just maintaining a calorie deficit.
