  • If you get a red delicious that is fresh, cut it into slices and lightly sprinkle it with salt. Super yummy! Otherwise I love Pink Lady, Honeycrisp & Jazz. If you don't like mealy, stay clear of Rome apples.
  • But you need the two to counteract each other. They are a package deal.
  • Once, long ago when I worked as a receptionist in a surgery clinic, I WATCHED an orthopedic surgeon steal my lunch. It was a can of chicken noodle soup and an apple. Seriously?! A surgeon can't simply order take out or something? lol I mentioned that it was my lunch and he just sort of blushed with his mouth full of soup.…
  • As long as you weigh you food, log everything you consume, and are able to keep it under your calorie allotment, you will succeed! Welcome.
  • In for the wisdom. I'm still struggling with this a little too. I also tend to want to lift up on my toes as I stand...
  • Stick with it, weigh your food, listen to the smart (if not always warm and fuzzy people) if you have questions. You'll do great! Welcome. :)
  • Hot lemon water with a bit of honey is tasty business...but no, it does not have any health benefits that I'm aware of. It's something I like to drink, I liked to drink it even when I weighed almost 300lbs....though honestly I liked coke better..probably why I weighed almost 300lbs. :)
  • If going to an event/location where there is a high likelihood that you will be seen by you or your spouse's boss/co-workers...best to err on the side of caution. Otherwise, show it off! You worked for it.
  • I do almost exactly this, but as a sort of stir fry instead of as a soup. So yummy. Can't wait to try the soup variety.
  • Awesome! Keep up the great work!
  • I like steamed apple juice. Just the juice...none of the syrups added in.
  • Nurse? I ask because I work at a hospital and I've noticed that most of the night shift nurses eat delivery of some sort almost every night. That combined with stress, lack of sleep from flipping schedules etc...and yeah, many struggle with their weight. I work the swing shift (3pm-11:30pm) so not exactly the same…
  • 100lbs is totally doable! I'm on my way there myself...although, I started out with more than 100 to lose. :grumble:
  • Both of my parents insisted on self sufficiency. I can make bread from scratch, culture yogurt without a machine, make cheese, can my own fruits and veggies, sew, crochet, knit when forced, raise chickens, milk goats, grow my own food (admittedly not great at this), basic carpentry, can work on my own car (although I…
  • I have a wee tiny above ground box and this year we are growing carrots, lettuces, spinach and cucumbers. I also have a trellis along the back fence and will try to get in some green beans and peas. I'm still not very good at this so it's always a crap shoot.
  • Burberry Brit. I can't wear anything fruity, it's smells wrong after an hour or two. I stick to spicy smells, musks, sandalwoods...nothing to heavily floral either.

  • I'm just bumping this cuz I like it.
  • Unless you're diabetic and trying to manage blood sugars, it really doesn't matter when you eat as long as you are happy and meeting/not exceeding your caloric goals.
  • I do indeed. :)
  • Well, I'm def. not a model. I work on my own car, fix my own plumbing ( I don't do electrical so don't ask  ), can ride a motorcycle and drive stick, prefer scotch....do I get to join this club?
  • You are getting fitter and better looking presumably....and now you are spending lots of time surrounded by gigantic/hot men (in his mind). Insecurity galore. That's my guess.
  • Feel free to add me as well. I'm on here every day.
  • Perhaps check out craigslist for a weight bench and weights? You could probably pick up a good beginner set up for the cost of two or three months of your local gym membership (the pricey one with the daycare).
  • I had these friends in college who reallllly liked to smoke pot. I didn't. I did not care if they did though...just wasn't my thing. It turns out that they hated it if I was around when they wanted to get high...because they thought that I was judging them...and I totally wasn't. I think sometimes people feel the same way…
  • My hands swell and feel really tight when I do high intensity cardio. It's best to get checked by a doctor, but it can be pretty normal. The best advice I can give, if everything with the doc checks out, is elevate your hands some...like waist high or higher. This seems to help me quite a bit.
  • ummmm....baby powder?:indifferent:
  • The decision to do it. I know a lot of people who "want" to lose weight...but they haven't made the concrete decision that it is going to happen....so it doesn't. Once you commit to the choice...everything else starts to fall in line pretty well. Oh & a food scale. :)
  • Are you raising your kids by yourself? I only ask because I would probably tell the significant other to start picking up a smidge of the housework, if it's an option. Also, I had to learn to prioritize. My daughter is 3. I, like you, work swing shift....so if I don't get home till midnight, and she's up at 7am...yeah, you…
  • It's a reference to the movie "Fight Club" I think, and the notion that some people think they are special and the rules don't apply to them.
