I prefer Jackie + running over Jillian (although I *love* Jillian too, and even have my boyfriend doing both their DVDs with me now). I find Jackie's workouts much more difficult (and thus effective) in terms of strength training, and since I love running anyway I'm not worried about the lower amount of cardio. (Besides, a…

I started Ripped in 30 on Monday (March 31). Doing RI30 every morning and, if I have time, 30 Day Shred in the evenings. Should help kickstart a healthier summer after sitting around indoors sulking over this crazy long, cold winter.

5, 8 and 10 lb. I use a 35 lb sandbag for the deadlift rows and a 15 lb kettlebell for the squat-swings (I'm just doing week 1 currently). On the front shoulder raise even the 5s make me miserable on the second round. Yowza!

They're not whipped up ice milk. They're whipped up oleo product. It's just flavoured fat. Literally.

What are you eating?
-
I do it barefoot, or in Vibrams five fingers (essentially barefoot but with better traction).
-
You'll lose weight, but you'll feel like crap and have no energy. When you do start eating like a normal human again you'll gain the weight you lost back because you did it in an unhealthy, unsustainable way. Be patient and healthy. :)

First of all, I'm really sorry to hear that you were sexually assaulted. That's completely horrible, and I hope you're able to get the help you need and that the person responsible is being held accountable. As to your question, unfortunately it seems reasonable for the gym to insist you not bring your dog. I bring my dog…

Let me know how you like the One Week Shred please? Amazon.ca is sold out right now but it looks like a great way to add an intense week to a normal workout plan.
-
I'm doing Ripped in 30 in the mornings starting today, with 30 Day Shred added on most evenings. Consider me in!

I listen to podcasts on long runs. Sometimes it bites me in the *kitten* when I laugh at something just as I run past somebody and feel like an *kitten* because it looks like I laughed at a stranger.

I'm also vegan and I drink at least 1 protein shake every day because there's no other way I've found to get anywhere near the amount of protein I need to feel healthy and alert. It's hardly a waste of calories, though. 1 scoop of vegan protein, which is 28 grams of protein, is 110 calories. Throw in a tablespoon of chia…

No you're not. Rest when you need to, and aim to rest a little less every day. I bet you'll amaze yourself.

It would be helpful to know a bit more about you. Gender, age, lifestyle/experience with exercise, any food limitations (allergies, vegetarian, etc).

I make mine as follows: 1/3 cup dry oatmeal 1 tbsp chia seeds several shakes of cinnamon 1 scoop of vanilla vegan protein powder (optional) swizzle (1 tbsp-ish) of honey (optional) berries Without the optional stuff it's 250 calories, 22 grams protein, 21 grams carbs, 4 grams fat. Don't let the smallish measurement of…

I'm not sure discrimination laws agree with you. I suppose it depends where you live, but almost anywhere in Canada and the US you'd have a reasonable lawsuit on your hands in virtually all professions.

I have 5 tattoos, including one on each wrist that are almost always visible, and a pierced nose. As a software developer nobody cares at all about my tattoos. Two of our sysadmins have full sleeves, one also has his hands tattooed and the other has tattoos on his shaved head. Working in software you're so in demand nobody…

I know how to throw axes and knives, own 2 swords, have decent basic medical knowledge and camping/survival skills, and have enough of a sociopathic streak to let strangers die to protect people I care about. And I can run basically forever, although that doesn't help if they're Day of the Dead/World War Z fast zombies. If…

I work 9ish hours a day at a desk. I got a standing desk and now I have little dance parties while I code. I can't sit down at a desk anymore, it feels gross and wrong. It took me a month or so to transition from standing for an hour or two and then sitting for an hour, to standing all the time. The tall chair they got me…

This is gross, so scroll down if you have a weak stomach. A used tampon.

At least you'll never have the problem where your waist fits a size 4 dress but it won't zip up past your still huge boobs. wtf body...

Dude, you've lost 82 pounds! That's amazing. This is a tough time of year, and most people either plateau or put a bit of weight on. But looking at what you've accomplished so far I have no doubt that you're going to make it to your goal. Cut yourself some slack for the gain, and for your reaction to it. /hug

Every time you run or do any cardio, remind yourself that you're waaaaay more comfortable than some ladies. I dropped from a DD to a D and was bummed no more boob came off. My sports bras are highly engineered marvels. :(
-
Why wouldn't I? Whether I log it or not the calories have entered my body, I'm better off with an accurate record so I can plan my workouts over the holidays accordingly. I don't use the holidays as an excuse to eat a pile of food, though.

Actually physics is the branch of science that deals with energy consumption. *How* your body produces/burns the energy is chemistry. The math behind your belief being comedically stupid is physics. Here you go: http://science.howstuffworks.com/dictionary/physics-terms/calorie-info.htm Pro tip, the law of thermodynamics...…

What are your goals? I've done it twice, it's pretty intense cardio but the bodyweight exercises aren't as much strength training as I'd like in my routine. I'm starting round 3 because it's too dang snowy to run outside and the cardio/plyometrics emphasis will keep everything I need to run a half-marathon and Tough Mudder…

If he has time to work out 4 nights a week and you really don't have any time at all there might be something wrong with the division of labour in your household.

Pigeon and Downward Dog to help counterbalance running. Crow because it took me soooooo long even to balance in it for 5 seconds so every time I feel like a champion.

Score! I have a couple pairs of running capris from Old Navy and I *love* them. Now that winter has arrived in Canada I'm going to need full length tights. Thanks so much for reminding me what a great deal Old Navy workout clothing is.

Does the $200 expire really soon? Does it snow where you live so you can at least run in the snowshoes even if you can't race locally? If the $200 doesn't expire immediately why not sit on it and see if you still want the snowshoes in a month or two?
