  • Obviously this is a topic that people are passionate about so this is my experience only that I am sharing. Eating above your BMR and up to your TDEE-15% is helpful in that you can lose weight ( it is slow) but because you do not feel constantly deprived, it tends to not push you towards bingeing. Yes Very Low Calorie…
  • Hi How old are you? That makes a difference ( I know - I am 44.) Check out http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ if you plug them in with a 15% cut from your TDEE, eat at least your BMR.
  • ok you all are making me hungry! Must go to bed!

  • Hang in there. You can have 2 pieces of pizza and still not give up. I am not a physician but I do think that 1000 is too low.Maybe your body needs fuel? It can get over whelming but you can do it. You are worth it! we all have those days.
  • Trader joes dark chocolate with hazelnuts & sweetgreen frozen yogurt separately I have never tried them together,
  • You go! Don't let the haters get you down. This site is is supposed to be for encouraging people as long as they are not hurting themselves or others- so if you are happy with your choice - so should we be!
  • Tried to eat at least bmr basal metabolic rate and can do no exercise not even walking because of a stroke so for me counting works for losing. I will have to get back to you about keeping it off!
  • http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Try to figure out your Basal Metabolic Rate or TDEE-15% and eat that - it fuels your body and is more doable. Also cuts down on binges. Check out the Eat More to Weigh less group on here
  • I second that! Lots of va va voom going on up in here! Hope to join you in 50 pounds or so!

  • You have so much courage to ask for help- ou can do it! Do you eat at your Basal Metabolic Rate? i find that if I eat at my BMR. I lose my urge to binge. I can go over my goal but trying to stick to 1650 calories is easier than 1200. If you look into the Eat More to Weigh Less Movement, it may work for you! The weigh loss…
  • Old photo but thanks! Want to get back there so it is my inspiration :) I had a stroke so I will never look exactly like that but I saw my chart at the dr and my weight when I 1st went him in 2008 was exactly the goal I told him- to lose 50 more pounds.

  • Hi I walk with a cane. At first it was a wheelchair. I tried both the recumbent bike and the elliptical machine with my physical therapist. It was not totally undoable but annoying & painful enough to discourage me. I could last about 5 minutes on each because I am out of shape. And the discomfort was too much. Thanks for…
  • I did from January to the end of April the VLC then switched to em2wl & 1650 ( older & sedentary) and have been going strong since then! I am down 29 pounds all together. I have 52 pounds to go and it is about a pound a week so I hope to be at goal in a year.
  • I am just over a third of the way to my goal since January 1st- at 29 lbs. You rock!
  • Hi You are so young - 4 years? I have been messing up my body for almost 30 years and it still works so go for it. I did gain a pound or two in my third week but I am back to losing a pound a week. I already lost 29 so 20 should work for you. Best of luck - you can save 25 years of misery if you kick this now instead of…
  • Not scary all! Inspiring!! You rock lady - keep it up.
  • You look amazing! Good for you.:noway:
  • At 201 & 5"5" my 18Ws and 1xs are getting big so at 195 I would be 16W or xl (they fit now but are a bit too tight to wear out of the house)
  • Have you checked out the Eat More to Weigh Less Group? I started back in April after eating around 1300 and now I am at 1650 and I am still losing about a pounds a week after a slight readjustment period. Go to http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/and enter your stats, Then eat at least your BMR up to TDEE-15%. I…
  • Relatives can be the worst! Tell her to pick up 16 sticks of butter & haul them around! 4lbs is nothing to be dissapointed in! You should be proud! I am dissapointed in her for being so unsupportive to you- she should know better! When I first saw my mother in law after a lost 5-10lbs she did nothing to help me or…
  • I had a stroke ( at 42) so my left arm is paralyzed - my leg moves - but very big movements not controlled very much - so when you see those wheelchair folks with great upperbody strength who play wheelchair basketball or other athletic things - that is so not me - ha ha. Getting down on the ground is not very appealing…
  • With being old enough (44) and sedentary, my goal per day isn't really high - around 1650. I felt like I could eat your goal yesterday!
  • No exercise - only counting calories & healthier choices. I am handicapped and can walk about a block with a cane so I have had to do this without the activity portion. It goes slower but it can be done! I have noticed many people started by addressing the food issues & then added exercise later to make it happen faster.…
  • How old are you? 44 How much have you lost? 29 pounds so far - 51 more to go How long did it take you to lose the weight (and/or issues/attitudes that kept you overweight/obese)? I am disabled & cannot exercise so it is SLOW! Jan1- June 9th to lose the 29 so far. Mentally, it is a struggle every day. How long have you kept…
