  • 5'5" SW 212 CW 134 I feel fine like I am, I do not need to lose anymore
  • Hi Bob- good for you- you will do well if you have a good attitude - it has almost been 4 years since my stroke at age 42 (brainstem) and life now is completely different but you adjust! Friend me ! Lynn
  • That is encouraging since I cannot exercise much either. Good on you! I am totally stalled though and can't seem to get below a certain threshold that is still obese. I would just like to be overweight rather than obese. I was doing fine for the first 39 pounds on EM2WL. What did you use to calculate your BMR? Since the…
  • This! I don't know that it would be humanly possible to take everything he recommends! If he has all the answers why is Oprah still struggling? If it could be bought don't you think she wouild have bought it by now?
  • Whew so relieved to hear you are taking your meds! I had a stroke at age 42 and it has changed my life. Some aspects are good (easier to find handicapped parking and think I am closer to my husband) but all in all my life is harder since I am partially paralyzed and can no longer do very much independently ( like drive). I…
  • I'm 5'5 started at 235 - 2 people that I do not see often said something at about 30 pounds gone.
  • You can add me too. I started at BMI of 39.1 lost about 39 pounds so far now BMI is 33.11- still Obese! Cannot wait until I get to overweight!
  • I am disabled & it is working for me so I will bet it will for you too. I got a FITBIT because I was confused. It is definitely not Sedentary. Try Light as Lucia said. Mine turned out to be between sedentary & light.
  • this! totally - all people telling me ever did was make me mad at them. Like she said & the anchor said " Do you think they do not know?" I even had a stroke & I still was not ready until I was ready. My weight has always been an issue but steroids for a medical condition really did a number on me.
  • I don't know how much Wellbutrin helps the average person lose weight but most others have the reputatio of making you gain.
  • Please read the stickies at the beginning of the board - yes - people often gain at first if they have restricted previously (or maybe were exercise maniacs!) but it usually comes off & more.
  • I think you know what to do but your mom spooked you. On this program it seems you can talk to others on it but "outsiders" tend to be skeptical. If she had a great success on something, you may want her advice but sounds like she has her own issues so stick to your guns! I got 1775 for your BMR on scooby so makes sense…
  • I use the fitbit too with EM2WL. Love it! It was 60-100 calories over what Scooby said and it would have taken tons of trial & error to figure that out. Exactly what I did "use it for a week or so before deciding on a calorie range".So sorry about your mom!
  • Totally hear you. I have been a Yo Yo dieter since I was 15 & I am 45. What is helping me this time is not over restricting. I think you may be a black & white thinker like me - you are either ON or OFF your diet. ON mean starving yourself & killing yourself in the gym and OFF means if it is not nailed down, you'll eat it.…
  • I have let it get a bit bendy before and it was still alright. It it gets slimey then it is too old! If there are any bad spot on my broccoli or cauliflower, I just trim them off!
  • I have the same issue and I can't really say I've tackled it! I like string cheese too and chicken!
  • Hi 1 No Since I am disabled but not bed-ridden - I was above sedentary but not at light or even halfway between sedentary & light -it would have way too much trial & error to figure out what I was without the fitbit. 2 nope - no prior HRM 3 Constantly & I love it. Bought it mostly to see how many calories I was burning but…
  • Thanks Desiree! Looks like you are doing well too!
  • I had my stroke 3 years ago coming up in November- I was 42. They still do not know why. I had gained a lot of weight on prednisone for autoimmune hepatitis. I have left side (non dominant) hemiparisis, my left arm is paralyzed and I walk with a cane. In early 2010 I was in wheelchair so I am glad to be where I am now.…
  • I am so glad you came through it. I had one three years ago and I was 42 at the time. Not as young as you. .. Do whatever you can. For the most part, people are nice - try to do as much for yourself as you can. Thety are trying to help but it can be enabling. I used to be pretty independant but now I need to ask for help…
  • Hi I am so glad you are okay. Mine was 3 years ago coming up in November. I am paralyzed in my left arm and the leg leg is impacted too. So I can walk about two city blocks with a cane. I just started really taking 20 minutes walks this week. First it was the stroke, then the weather was either too hot or too cold. It is…
  • I freaked out over cherries. Do you know how many carbs are in cherries? Geez!
  • Welcome! Take the plunge - you will never go back!
  • I love the smile on your face in the after picture! Well done!
  • I ran your numbers - you should be eating at least 1402 a day - 1638 is your TDEE or what it should take to maintain your weight. EM2WL calls eating at your TDEE a diet break- sounds similar to that Curves concept you talked about. EM2WL 's recommendation is to take a 1-2 week break ( eat at TDEE) every 4-12 weeks or when…
  • Check out the Eat More to Weigh Less Group on here. 1200 calories- your body is probably holding in any food you eat! The people that talked about 3 days not being a plateau - longer than 2 weeks is when you should maybe change things. I agree with raising your calories but not dropping them again so drastically again. If…
  • Have you tried Wellbutrin? I am not sure if it would substitute in your particular case but it is reputed to be one without many ot the weight gain & sexual side effects of some of the others. I was diagnosed with mixed depression & anxiety & have been in it for several years.
  • It looks like the alarm is the only difference on the One. If that is worth it to you, wait, if not, go for it. Looks like the zip would be a good lower cost alternative for those who do not use the stairs feature. They also said the one is a bit less like a "clothespin" but I do not find the Ultra too clunky, I love it!
  • I was obese (still am but overweight is around the corner!) but not morbidly obese when I started EM2WL in April. I have lost about 15 pounds on it. It will be slower than starving yourself but much more sustainable. If you cannot wrap your brain around 2700, can you do the BMR number or 2070? The gurus would tell you that…
