Well done!!! You should be proud of yourself for setting a goal for YOU and then going and accomplishing that goal. I just finished Insanity as well and started it again....its an amazing workout!!! I hope you get yourself to the beach and many other places you may have avoided, and I hope you walk with pride!!!

Couldn't live without to hit my macros....chicken, chicken and more chicken Couldn't live without.....my AM Smoothie (Greek yogurt, banana, frozen berries, coconut water and protein powder).....I only have one after an Insanity DVD (incentive to get up @ 5:30am) and I have had one everyday for the past 3 months!!!

I'm 5'9" and currently 150lbs (trying to lose the last 5)

Do NOT give up!!!!! I saw/felt my results the last 2 weeks of Month 2. It is different for everyone, but I think that Month 1 prepares your body for the work in Month 2. As for shakes/smoothes....I have one every morning after my workout (I get up by 6am to complete...obviously on an empty stomach as who can eat then) and…

Welcome to the best workout program you will find (I have done MANY and this one rocks). I also found the first few days my appetite decreased....it didn't last for long.....by the second month I couldn't get enough food so I upped my calories. Protein and carbs are super important after these extreme workouts (will…

<Two kids ages 16 and 13. Thanks Insanity!!!!!

Started Round #2 of Insanity today with Plyometric Cardio Circuit and it felt as hard to complete as Day #1 in Round #1!!! I power walk (as I have 3 dogs that demand we go) but other then that I do no other workouts as this one is designed to work different parts of your body (strength vs. aerobic) in a schedule to…

Give it time. It takes 4-6 weeks for all the gluten particles to leave your digestive system. Definitely take vitamin supplements and definitely WITH food!!! I make my own protein shakes (way cheaper) and eat lots of fruits and vegetables with every meal. You can get everything you need without an expensive supplement!!!…

You will be impressed!!! So easy to clean and blends it so smoothly. Vita-mix is the next best item but @ $500+ its a bit investment!!! Enjoy :)

Perhaps you have time to sit and eat breakfast everyday.....I however have 2 teenage competitive athletes in my home, 3 active dogs and I work outside the home. I get up by 5:30am and have to get one to the pool, come home, do my workouts then make breakfast for the two of us to drink in the car while I drive her from the…

I got one for Christmas and have used it EVERYDAY since!!! It is my go to appliance for a number of things.....salsa, spaghetti sauce, nut butters, and the number one job...smoothies. Whatever goes in comes out absolutely pulverized. This process is more effective then our digestive system as your body can absorb the…

I lost a bit of weight at the beginning but my focus was on strength and shape not weight-loss. I REALLY noticed a difference in my body near the end of the 2nd month....to the point I went out to buy new jeans because the ones I had were falling off!!! It's a 2 month program....give it the two months. You won't be…

I buy my Protein Powder @ Costco (might be different options as I'm in Canada) but it has all the necessary components needed and I add it to a banana, mixed frozen berries and plain greek yogurt. I get plenty of fruits and vegetables throughout the day (have both with every meal...except no veggies at breakfast). I would…

Go with your own snacks and lots of water. Expect some comments and use the trust in your friendship to answer them honestly. I have been out with friends (over 20 years we've been friends) and they will comment "look at us buying junk and you sit there all skinny". I always answer that I save my "treats" for my most…

Gluten-Intolerant, open diary....feel free to add me :)

I am Gluten-Intolerant so have many GF foods in my home. My children eat them (as they like them better then the gluten ingredient foods) and I have this to comment: The competitive swimmers feels more energetic during a 2 hour practice and recovers quicker from a strenuous dry-land session and the competitive soccer…

Insanity is with Shaun T....amazing and very motivating!!! I am addicted (hence the 7 days a week). Results are amazing!!! I have lost 2 inches on my waist, 3 on my hips and the body fat has dropped 5.5%. I feel great and am pumped to do another round (I finish the first round Monday of next week). I would HIGHLY recommend…

Insanity!!!!! I am in the best shape of my life (and I used to do Martial Arts). Good luck!!!

Greek yogurt in my protein shake takes it from 30g of protein to 50g. Chicken on a salad usually adds about 20g and a protein bar another 20g. Turkey bites (like pepperoni but less fat) are 5g each, peanut butter on rice cakes, cheese strings, almonds.....keep some variety so you don't get bored! Good luck.

If you feel ok to work out then do it. I so Insanity 7 days a week, including during that time. If I feel a bit off I work out anyways and usually feel better. Just a thought....but if you work out your body might be more "tired" and perhaps you will sleep better? I'd also up the protein on those days and perhaps stop…

On my last week of Insanity and did Max Interval Plyo today. The program is amazing. I have never felt so strong and confident in myself before. I plan to repeat the program and continue to do so until I can get through every workout without stopping (and doing as many push-ups, etc as Shaun is). Nutrition is SOOOOO…

Low and no carb will give you the same results as proper portions (weigh portions) and good nutrition (no processed foods and proper macros) but you won't feel deprived, light headed or dizzy. You will also find working out and the recovery difficult without the proper nutrition. I'm currently reading "Food for Fitness"…

I just finished my first round of Insanity and will be starting up again immediately!!! You need to do nothing else besides the workout scheduled for that day. I do have 3 dogs so I power walk with them for 50 minutes everyday as well and I'm beat afterwards!!! You will need the rest days and the recovery week....the…

I'm Gluten-Intolerant so have switched to the Subway Salad and I must say I'm impressed and it's WAY lower in calories!!! Ham or Chicken Breast with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green peppers, cheese and Honey Mustard (about 200 calories according to their website) Enjoy!!!

1 - Food Scale (and invest in a good one) 2 - Yoga Mat 3 - Insanity 4 - The new FitBit (asking for Mother's Day) Good luck on your journey!!!

My daughter is a high-performance athlete (competitive swimmer) who has a body fat % far below what is recommended for her age however she eats more then I every could (she's only 15). She can swim fly for an hour without issue!!! She was playing on a friends Wii and it "measured" the BMI based on her height and weight and…

American Eagle!!! The Boyfriend (if they still have them) and Original Bootcut are awesome. All have "stretch" to them and are SO comfortable. I'm 5'9 and the "Long" fit great. They are not skinny in the leg so shouldn't be a problem there, however they are NOT highwaisted jeans. Good luck!!!

I would encourage you to research auto-immune disorders and their co-morbidity (they occur together....in groups). Thyroid disorders and Celiac (gluten-intolerance) tend to occur together. Gluten-intolerance can cause significant joint pain. Just an idea....may have nothing to do with what your pain is it but I would…

Track all your food and also track the symptoms and when they occur....I'm quite sure you will find the trigger food easily. Mine was gluten and my intolerance was sudden and intense. If I eat any gluten I will be bloated and in pain within 15-30 minutes. If you plan to eliminate one food item do it for at least 4-6 weeks…
