I'd pay good money for a variety pack! Also, just have to add another vote to the Double Stuff side. Mmm... Originals just feel like too much cookie, not enough cream.

I was trying desperately to get to 10k steps before midnight last night and ended up doing that thing in football movies where they go from foot to foot REALLY fast, in place, in my apartment parking lot at 11:58. Still broke my streak and missed 10k by 35 steps, haha. That just looked stupid though. My truly bright moment…

If I rolled my eyes any harder than I just did I think they'd get stuck. Have a good night.

Most of you are being very helpful, and I'm grateful! It's just the attitude of those two users (one called me parasitic and one is bafflingly accusing me of starving the children of the salesman) that I'm trying to figure out, since, to me, it's coming out of nowhere after weeks of reading about how and where to buy shoes…

Also, I'm pretty darn sure the guys at New Balance have some sort of hourly wage. Maybe it's not $20 an hour, but their families are not going to starve by missing out on one person's commission. If that were the case, New Balance would even have an outlet store to begin with.
-
The fittings are free! They do not cost money! I even told them I would be buying them online, and they said that was just fine. If it was necessary to buy shoes after the fitting I would have left, because I wasn't actually interested in deceiving them, whatever you might think. There are several places on this site where…

I disagree. Am I not allowed to run if I can't afford brand new shoes?

They're New Balance 993s. I got them from a New Balance outlet store online, so it's not like I was doing anything dishonest, in my opinion. Not everyone has the money to get them hot off the shelf, and when outlets are an option to get shoes that are just as good, if not this season's models, why not? Isn't it better to…

What are you using to track the steps? How is it calculating the calories? (Ex: are you using Fitbit, just logging exercise like normal on MFP after a walk, etc)
-
Thanks, all! It's pretty soft, so I think they're just not for me. Appreciate the help!
-
Probably for the best, haha, they're a little bit above my current price range!

If you've got a busy day, you can absolutely get 10k with little effort. I'm the opposite though, if I've got a day off I have to deliberately go to the treadmill/take a long walk to get it in. I think because of the bumps while driving no tracker could really leave out all steps while driving. I've looked before and I…

Yeah it's been being more difficult than normal for the past few days. Funnily enough, today is the first time it's actually been accurate for me instead of giving me 500 extra calories that I can't actually eat. I'm sure tomorrow it will be different again. The easiest solution for me has been to look at my calories…

I walk, and have the normal 10k steps as my daily goal, mainly so I can eat more every day. I've been using a treadmill to get most of the steps all at once, and as that gets easier I'm starting to think about trying the C25K program, which gently eases you into running (from what I've heard). Maybe look into that to get…

I don't remember how long the 30 Day Shred videos were, but I thought they were fun enough to stick to and I think they were 30 minutes, but no dance.
-
Also, some don't have that feature. I've got a Zip and no activity mode for me!
-
It wants to know how long it took, not the calories burned. It calculates the burn for you when you give it the time (or at least that's how mine is set up).
-
Fitbit gives you calories for every step. It also gives you calories for being alive. I'm pretty sure most step trackers that sync to similar websites do the same. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you though. If your pebble isn't something listed in the apps section like TeaBea mentioned, you can try just entering your…

Is there a reason you don't want to use MyFitnessPal's? I've heard Fitbit's is good as well.

Do you mean low thyroid? I've heard of low thyroid (I'm hypothyroid myself) but never heard of slow. If it's not bad enough for medication it's probably not bad enough to affect your weight loss. I'm not a doctor though, so if they said it was affecting it they know better than I do.

What was the time frame in which you gained the 5-7 pounds? I second rileysowner; it was likely water retention. You can't gain 5-7 pounds of fat just by eating 300 extra calories. You'd have to eat 3500 extra calories a week (500 extra a day) just to gain 1lb, and that's on top of whatever your maintenance would be, not…

At the top of MFP under "Apps." Search for Fitbit and add it, then do the same through Fitbit. For the first week or so I recommend going back and looking at your total daily burn from Fitbit and your calorie goal from MFP and make sure the math makes sense. I regularly burn 2500 calories, which at a 1k deficit means I…

My Fitbit came with a little USB dongle (?) that connects to my Zip via Bluetooth. I don't use it, but theoretically, I don't need my smart phone at all, I could just connect it via the dongle whenever I got on the computer. I don't know if your friend would need anything else to use Bluetooth though, or if his computer…

Logged my breakfast over there just now and I'm not even traumatized! It actually isn't as bad as people make it out to be (so far). I'd imagine if it was missing anything I could just copy MFP's entry pretty quickly. Maybe I'll make the switch and just use MFP for the community...

I might start doing that, I've just heard not great things about their database. I haven't tried it myself though, so I probably should!

If you do eat eggs, I love boiled eggs on my salads. Adds protein and fills you up more, plus it tastes great. Also shredded cheddar cheese. I don't personally like it more than every once in a while, but I've seen a lot of salads with nuts and fruits like strawberries, oranges, apples (cubed up small), or grapes.

1 2 3 4 5 6 I don't care when I eat, so I just separate based on what I eat together just to make everything readable and to see general calorie amounts for each meal.

I don't know what it is about sushi, but even though I've never gotten great sushi I crave it every once in a while. It's so weird. I'll order it, and it'll be good at first, then okay, then by the end I've sworn off sushi forever, but then I'll crave it like crazy a week later. I don't understand it. It's the same thing…

You're right, I was thinking of TDEE.
