  • Thanks. I wasn't separating the A and B workouts. I know to alternate between the two, I just wasn't counting them separately to count it as ten. Make sense? Thanks for your help!
  • The schedule. I'm not following what it is he's saying. It says to do each workout five times for a total of ten workouts. The math isn't adding up to me. I'm sure I'm making this harder than it should be. Took me a bit to figure stage one schedule. Lol.
  • Thanks! I'll check his website out!
  • I am 5'6. I would say that I have an hourglass shape. SW: 180/185ish CW: 145 GW: Be healthy and fit; not so much about a number any more I have to say that I have become less concerned with reaching a specific number. For me, it has become more about becoming fit and healthy. I want to set a good example for my children. I…
  • I am also doing Insanity and I am on day 6 (haven't done it yet today). The pure cardio was tough yesterday! Thought at one point I was going to lose my breakfast! I hope I can keep with it!
  • It is going to vary from person to person. I wear a heart rate monitor and I burn anywhere from 280-300 calories when doing 30 DS. I'm 33, 5'6, and weigh 145 pounds.
  • I became obsessed with the scale and it led to frustration. I now go by how my clothes feel and how I look in the mirror. I only get on the scale if my clothes start feeling looser or tighter to see where I'm at.
  • I do strength training on my nonrun days. (did it even when I first started C25K back in June) I run M, W, F and do 30 Minutes to Fitness Weights (DVD) on T, Th, and Sat. I take Sundays off. I like to do both. I can really tell a difference in myself and my body with doing both the cardio and strength training.
  • I was born and raised in Louisville and my husband is from Henderson. We moved to Pennsylvania a year ago though. GO CARDS!! L1C4!
  • Thanks for your in put. My heart is any where from 158-187 during my run. All depends on the steepness of the hill I'm running at the time.
  • A lot of people are afraid to say something. Weight is a very touchy subject for some. Congrats on your loss and keep up the good work!
  • those sound like yummy snacks! will definitely have to try them out! thanks!
  • I fell into a habit awhile back of getting on the scale almost every day and began to get frustrated. I decided, for me, it was best if I ditched the scale and started going by how my clothes fit. I had much better result once I gave up the scale and number obsession. I will occasionally step on the scale to see where I am…
  • Thanks so much!!
  • I am a beginner runner and had my best run ever today. I'm thinking it was the cooler weather!
  • Honestly the best way to determine how many calories you are burning is to get a heart rate monitor. That is going to give you the best estimate.
  • I have 30DS. I have used it often but I would like to make another recommendation. I really enjoy the 30 minutes to fitness series. I have 30 minutes to fitness weights and 30 minutes to fitness lifting. I prefer those videos to 30DS.
  • I get my workout done first thing in the morning. I do a strength training video M,W,F (just 30 minutes) and I run T,Th,S (between 30-45 minutes). I find that if I don't get up and get moving, I might not workout at all. It is a great way to start off the day.
  • I am going to tell you what worked for me. Please keep in mind that I am not an expert by any means and everyone is different so my approach may not work for you. At any rate this what I did/do. I hit a point when I quit losing weight. I was staying under my calorie goal daily and exercising M-F and I wasn't losing. I…
  • I'm my 30 minutes to fitness (lifting and power sculpt) video, the instructor says "anybody can quit. don't be an anybody"
  • So my new running mix is all over the place. It all songs that I enjoy and some are songs I haven't listened to in awhile. I decided to shuffle my songs instead of trying to create a set song order. Here is a sample of what I came up with: The Hardest Ever-will.i.am Won't Back Down-Eminem Wild Ones-Flo Rida The Devil Went…
  • I'll admit it too...I also have a Justin Bieber song :)
  • "A growling bear, since that's about the only time I could imagine myself running." LMAO!
  • Thanks so much for all the suggestions!! I currently have a bunch of today's hits on my playlist. They are songs that I like but I hear them all the time now on the radio and during my run so I needed some suggestions to change it up. Will have to look to everyone's recommendations and see what will work best for me.…
  • I just completed week 5 day 1. I had to repeat week 4 because I struggled with week 4 day 2 and 3. I was able to make it through today without stopping. Don't be afraid to repeat a week or two. Just keep going!! You can do it!!!
  • When I got on the scale at the doctor's office and the scale read 185 lbs! That pretty much did it for me.
  • I have a couch to 5K app on my phone. I have never been a runner but want to try it out. The app is great. It eases you into running. I am getting ready to start week 5 (however I did repeat week four). Check it out. I know a few other people that have used this program and have enjoyed it and have seen great results. I am…

  • I've lost weight doing both. Right now a gym membership isn't in the budget so I workout at home. I alternate workout dvds for my weight lifting (using dumbbells) and have recently gotten into running. I also have an elliptical machine. If you chose to workout at home I highly recommend looking into the 30 minutes to…
  • Right now, I do a strength training video (30 minutes to fitness-weights) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday, I do 30-45 minutes of cardio on my elliptical, one of the programmed interval settings. I usually take the weekends off. I'd really like to start the New Rules of Lifting for Women but I…
  • Love the scale. It is simple and easy to use. It only has two buttons. The tare button and the unit button. It is super easy to switch between units of measure. It runs on AAA batteries which I always have on hand. It is small and doesn't take up too much space. Its great!
