I will do cardio on days I lift, unless I am doing drop sets or trying for a new max. I always do cardio after I lift, sometimes I will do HIIT but it take a lot out of me. I usually eat my calories back because I need the fuel.
-
OMG I am using this.

I dont think anyone would argue that you can make gains doing crossfit, but at $150 a month I will pass. I am getting excellent results and paid $300. for a 15 month gym membership, which includes a class that has given me a great training foundation. Last month I completed a crossfit workout with some friends and had no…

I felt like birth control was making it much harder for me to lose weight. When I stopped began to lose more. It might depend on what kind of birth control you were using. I was on the pill.

Thanks! I love talking with people who share my passion. A year ago I would have never thought I would be lifting as much as I am today. I can wait to see what I can do a year from now.

Fitness is my life. I always am looking to run faster and lift heavier. I am in constant competition with me, myself and I.
-
I am ridiculously competitive. I don't compare weight loss, but I have to lift heavier, run faster or complete more reps than the other women. When I can't do something it frustrates me and makes me work harder.

Welcome! My best advice is to start slow, dont deny yourself food. I could never go without chocolate. When you eat try and make healthy choices, if you want something sweet grab some fruit. I see a lot of people fail because they try to change too much too fast. Weight loss is a process if you increase your activity,…

Welcome and good luck on your fitness journey

Weight loss takes time. Before I can give you some good advice I would need to see your diary. Are you doing any exercise? Are you under your calorie goal? Are you being honest and logging everything? There are many factors at play. Stay strong it will happen.
-
Before I started logging I had no idea how much I was eating. MFP really put things in perspective. Keep up the great work!
-
Don't ever give up. You can do anything you put you mind to. Start small trying to change too much at once often leads to failure. Start with eating well then add the exercise. Dont cut out your favorite foods, just have them in moderation.
-
Welcome! I swear by MFP. My suggestions is to be honest and log everything. Remember you can do anything you put your mind to. Good luck and if you need anything dont hesitate to ask.
-
I completely agree with increasing your protein, but only if you are going to lift to build muscle. Always lift before you do your cardio. Log everything, and minimize cheat days.
-
I love the gym, but I am also a very confident woman. If I don't know how to do something I just ask or I would watch others and duplicate their actions. I am not trying to impress anyone, I am there to workout. Due to my outgoing personality I have made a ton of friends at the gym, they push me and hold me accountable. I…

You want to work on your explosive energy. To build my box jump I was doing weighted jump squats. I used dumbbells, once the dumbbells hit the floor I would explode up. I would only rest in a standing position.
-
Welcome. I am also looking to build muscle and see some nice definition. I cant workout alone either, I love my gym. I have met so many wonderful people that share my passion for fitness. Good luck!
-
I love the gym too! I have made so many friends and learned so much from my interactions with people that share my passion.
-
I am 5'2" and in the best shape of my life. I eat very healthy and combine cardio, weight lifting and body weight exercises in my workout routine.
-
Start slow, maybe replace one or two unhealthy things a week with better choices and increase from there. You shouldnt have to give up the foods you love. I still eat cookies and ice cream I just eat them infrequently and in moderation. If you attempt to change too many things failure is more likely. Baby steps.

I met my boyfriend at the gym and he continues to push me further. I love it that I have a built in workout partner and motivator. I am not doing it for him but his encouragement fuels my desire to accomplish my goals. I have been in relationships where they couldn't understand my passion for fitness and all they wanted to…

I never had much weight to lose but it was so hard for me to lose the little weight I needed to. MFP was the clarity that I needed. I had such a skewed vision of what I was eating and what I needed to eat. I attribute my success to MFP and my gym friends. now that I have seen success I am addicted to it.
-
31 and in the best shape of my life partially due to MFP but fighting my sweet tooth is an everyday battle.
-
I completely agree, my weight and what I eat are some of the only things I have complete control over. I also love seeing the results, they dive me to do more. Once I started seeing them I was addicted, I love my abs more than I love junk food.
-
One bad meal wont mess up your progress just like one salad wont make you reach you goal. As long as it is not every day you will be fine but I know the guilt kills me too
-
My biggest tip is to log honestly. If you dont you are just cheating yourself. And never give up, there will be set backs but remember to celebrate your successes.

I met my boyfriend at the gym and I will NEVER date a man that does not share my passion for fitness. I love that we train together and he always supports me with my diet. He wants me to accomplish my fitness goals and never speaks negatively about it. If anything I sabotage his diet with my cooking, as an Italian woman I…

I LOVE the gym. Here is why: I really enjoy the classes they are a great way of meeting new people who have similar interests. My instructor is a personal trainer so routines are well balanced, he also corrects my form and pushes me harder than working out by myself. It gives me new workout ideas and changes up my routine.…

Welcome! I am glad that you have been successful thus far on your weight loss journey. When i stop seeing results it means my body has gotten used to what I have been doing. Try to change your diet and your routine. Try adding more protein to your diet, or eating smaller but more frequent meals. I changed from cardio to…

I love cheat meals and cooking for my boyfriend always does me in. But I love the results more than I love food :) Good luck
