41, no kids by choice. Have one senior dog (our other one passed last year) and we spoil the nieces and nephews, then send them home. :wink:

Dry lips, dry mouth, little or no pee, lethargy and headaches. Dehydration = not fun.

Start slowly. Just get up and move for 10 minutes for one week, add 2 minutes the next week, and so on. Usually it takes at least 6 weeks to recover from a major surgery such as yours. Don't overdo it or you will get discouraged. ^^ This ^^ I walk everyday and I promise, it will get easier. Start slow and don't overdo it.

Stay busy! I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago and came home 2 pounds lighter. We walked everywhere and did a ton of sight seeing. I even splurged at Ben and Jerry's and I was still under my calorie goal each day. Have fun!

I say try not to stress about it. You are making dinner, so you have more control over what goes into the meal than if you were eating at a restaurant. Can you take a walk at lunch or on break? A walk does double duty as a bit of exercise and a way to help get rid of that panicky feeling. Relax and enjoy your date night!

Numfar (played by Joss Whedon) was a character on just one or two episodes of the TV show "Angel". Numfar did the 'dance of shame' when Lorne returned to his home dimension, which cracked me up and it just stuck.

Yes, it will work. Goodies in moderation are still fine, but after a while you'll find that you are okay with substituting those cookies or chips with something healthier (my new fav is greek yogurt with honey).

Normally if I can move to another room far from the kitchen, I'll beat the craving and ingore the pantry calling my name. I've got to occupy myself with something that takes all of my attention until the urge passes.
