I don't really know what the effect is, but I'm pretty sure it depends on what type of fat it is. If you exceed the overall fat level but it's not saturated fat, I don't think it's too much of a problem. Personally, I always try to keep within my calorie and saturated fat daily goals.

I lost 10lbs in my first week too, although I know from past experience that it's quite normal to lose a lot in the early days. If I can lose 1-2lbs a week I'll be very happy!

I completely agree. I'm itching to weigh-in as I've been really strict this week, but I'm sticking to every Tuesday morning. Not long until I find out how well I've done this week!

Thanks for all the good advice everyone! I didn't actually realise that some of the bigger restaurant chains are already in the MFP database - brilliant! I suppose for those restaurants that aren't part of a chain or don't publicise the nutritional content of their meals, I'll just be sensible and estimate as best I can.…
