I have had sciatic pain for a long time. Strength training has helped me a lot. Building my core muscles has helped, but it has taken a looooong time. Believe it or not, with modifications, kettlebells have been very helpful. I hope you find a way to get some relief, I know it is not fun. :flowerforyou:

I lost a friend from college when I was 25 or 26, so we had not been out of college long. He was a severe epileptic. He had horrible siezures every day. One day, his poor body had had enough. I still miss him.

Fantastic! You should be very proud of yourself!

When I first started getting up at 5 am to workout, I needed something in my stomach. I would put a banana and a Sargento reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese on my bedside table. Because the cheese is individually packaged, it was fine overnight. I would eat the banana before and the cheese after. It worked great for me. Now…

I do, too!

I haven't cooked any in awhile, but I need to get some again. I usually buy Bob's Red Mill. Steel cut oats have protein and iron, something that gets processed out of instant. There are recipes for overnight oatmeal in a crock pot. I usually make a batch on the stove and eat it throughout the week. Unflavored they remind…

I have had really good success with KettleWorx. I've been through the program three times - started out on 5 lb., moved up to 7, then finally 10. I'm starting over again w/ 7 because I took time out to complete 12 weeks of TurboFire. Now that I'm back into it, I realize just how good it has been for me. It's quick, fun,…

I second Hot Doug's! Put your toes in Lake Michigan, too, since it's June. Have fun!

My husband's: "Gone With the Wind" and "It" Mine: "A Thief In the Night" and "Crybaby"

I followed it about 7 years ago with really great results - lost maybe 35-40 lbs. I was feeling great! Then, alas, I pulled a disk in my back and was out of commission for a long time, and I also got really sick. I have thought MANY times about going back to it, just haven't done it. Once I started, I found it fairly easy…

I like to eat yogurt every day, but the rest sounds pretty good and easy to follow. I know one of weight loss foods was sardines (oily fish) and I think he ate it on bread with avacados? Sounds weird, but I'm pretty sure that was a meal for him.

Yes! KB workouts made a big difference for me! I just finished 12 wks of Turbo Fire, but I am ready to mix kettlebells back in.

I'm finishing Week 12 this week! I am in so much better shape. I will be measuring on Sunday. I know for a fact that my thighs and calves are smaller. Now my question is: Do I start over with Week 1? Where do I go from here? Opinions welcome, please.

I don't think any team will want him until they know he can throw. I'm hoping he is healed, but I have my doubts.

Bump for later, because I'm interested in knowing, too!

That is "La Copa de la Vida" or "The Cup of Life". Great song!

Love Master and Commander! It would have to duke it out with "A River Runs Through It" for 4th place. I think it is Russel Crowe's best movie, IMHO.

Never mind, hit wrong button.

Just three? I will try: 1. Shawshank Redemption 2. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? 3. Cold Mountain

I totally agree with you! If they had only focused on the positive characters, we may not be discussing this.

I would think you will be doing a lot more walking there than you would in the states. A lot of people who travel to Europe report that, even though they did not "watch what they ate", they still lost weight. I'm a believer that it has something to do with our food supply, but that's another topic. I also think you should…

My daughter loved your pics - gorgeous scenery, gorgeous dogs!

No contest - spa pedicure/foot rub. I'm getting tingly thinking about it!

I would have to have been at maintenance for a long time - longer than a couple of years. I would have to prove to myself that I could keep off the weight I have lost. It is a small miracle that I have kept 55 lbs. off for 3 years (37 of those with MFP). I've never kept that much weight off for that long. I've lost it…

Chocolate - all of it.

Well, my ex-husband was a 13, and let's just say I'm much happier with my current size 11 husband. Oh no, I've blown your theory.

I'm on week 10 after starting with the Prep Schedule. I have really improved my cardiovasular health and endurance. Haven't lost much weight, but have lost inches. Noticed my thighs are smaller, which is amazing. After I'm done with the 12 week schedule, I'm going to start again, but add in KettleWorx, which I've done…

I did a KW/Zumba combo for quite some time and it was great! I started with a 5 lb., then went to 7 and finally 10 lbs. It was the thing that made people say "Wow! How much weight have you lost?". In 25 minutes I would be sweating buckets on a lot of the routines. The nice thing about it is that if you get too used to it,…
