  • 1st thing is 1lb per week is a little too aggressive if you want to keep the weight off and keep your muscle in the process. I would suggest to change your goal to .5 pounds per week and NET that amount. I would check your BMR to make sure that your net goal is at or more than your BMR. NET= Calories per day + exercise…
  • Protein shakes can also be used as meal replacements. I use them as a snack before or after my work outs. I use Ideal Shape. The chocolate is tasty and only 110 calories you can order it online.
  • eat more. I am serious. 1000 calories a day is TOO LITTLE. Start off by netting no less than 1200. Then up it to your BMR. I know it will be more because I am little and mine is 1400.
  • I would suggest to make your diary public so we can see what you are eating now. Upping your calories can have an emotional response if you let it. Its awesome that you realize that it isn't healthy and you want to make a change for the better!!

  • try this: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/ibw/ find out your body fat by going here: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/mbf/ its not exact, but it should give you a good idea.
  • I third this. I calculate that you should be eating between 1700 and 2200 calories which would probably net you at 1600 or so. I am almost a foot shorter than you and I eat a little less than that and I am still losing. If you don't want a big jump or to deal with a little gain while upping your calories, I would up your…
  • You need custom orthodic inserts. You can buy good shoes, but go to a podiatrist and have them do custom inserts for you.
  • I am considering changing my numbers to include the amount of exercise I do. Like you said, I tend to "chase" my exercise calories since I work out at night mostly which makes me eat too little during the day and have a massive amount of calories to eat in the evening. I know that I can balance it out by eating more the…
  • Are you eating 1350 net? if you aren't you should at least start with that.
  • I agree. Slow and steady!! 9 years ago I lost 70lbs. I had no loose skin. I was skinny fat because I didn't exercise to lose the weight that time, but no loose skin. I depends on how your body responds and genetics mostly. You can prevent some of it by strength training and losing the weight too quickly.
  • I just tested my HRM at the gym yesterday and this is my results: Walking 3.0-Walking my ill behaved dog for 26 min MFP says: 82 cals HRM says: 141 cals Mixed cardio including walking to the gym, Arc Trainer for 20 min and Elliptical for 10 min (I paused when switching machines and checking into the gym) Arc Trainer:…

  • Why will you over eat? If you have almost 800 calories left for the day that is more than enough for a healthy dinner and a snack. Plus if you exercise you will have even more calories to work with. If you get hungry it is important that you eat. Otherwise you will probable over eat at dinner!
  • My opinion, It's a week so stick it out. Not a year, not even a month. If you can, turn on some music a tune it out and focus on how great it will be once you don't have to work there anymore. I bet it will make your next job, no matter how crappy it may be, look like a breeze. F those B's!!! Stick it out and show them…
  • Tonight I am making chicken fajitas!! My go to week night meals are: Crispy chicken-just seasoned whole wheat bread crumbs dredged and baked . eat with a veg or 2 Pork tenderloin- I do teriyaki or orange and rosemary turkey meatballs- I cook them in large batches then freeze. greek chicken with lemon and oregano and pita…
  • 1. you need to change your goal to .5 to 1 lb per week because you only have 20 lbs to lose according to your ticker. It is not safe to have a 1000+ calorie deficit for some one who has that little to lose. A 500 to 250 deficit would be safer and give you better results. I am guessing that it is 2lb per week based purely…
  • Honestly? About an hour after I googled "healthy way to lose weight" The internet makes it very simple to learn things. As long as you can read and have common sense it isn't hard. I also used the android market and searched weight loss and found this app/website. Best thing I ever did. P.S. This is the internet and there…
  • Yes you should be eating no less than you BMR. BMR is what your body needs to function if you were in a coma. You will need to eat your exercise calories on top of that to make sure you don't burn out.
  • I am going to tell you right now that you are in the wrong place to give advice that your doctor gave to YOU!! That is for you and if you think that you can sustain that for life then you should keep doing it. If you are eating a diet suggested by your doctor, then I probably would suggest to change the way you deliver…

  • Add some protein, like a glass of milk with dinner. Some fruit like an apple. I would say peanut butter, but I saw you are allergic. I am sad for you :( Eat bigger portions and use the full fat stuff instead of the low fat if you are full off of what you are eating now.
  • I am 4'11" so I know. Eat your exercise calories!! Being short is not a handicap to have the excuse to under eat. I love my fun sized peeps, but you have to do it the healthy way. I bet if you eat them for a few weeks you will start losing again.
  • The first week is the hardest!!! If you are starving you may was to ease into it by changing your goals for a few weeks. Like, if you are set to a 2lb per week loss that means that you have 1000 calorie defict and that IS a big drop!! Maybe set it to .5lb the first week then 1lb the 2nd week then 1.5 the 3rd etc. If you…
  • I love my HRM! I have a Polar ft4 I got it from bodytronics.com for like 60 bucks. Best thing I have done so far. MFP over estimates my burns most of the time, but I have heard people say that they burn more than what MFP says.
  • If you are unsure what to eat I would suggest to start with the basics. Lean proteins like chicken, fish, pork tenderloin, milk, lowfat cottage cheese, beans etc. along with lots fresh fruits and veggies. and whole grains like whole wheat bread. In my experience there isn't any food you should stay away from unless you…

  • When you choose your weight loss goals MFP calculates the proper defict. example: you choose 1lb per week goal. Your Maintenance calories is 1800 calories. so MFP would have you eat 1300 per day making a 500 calorie. Something else to factor in with this process. This is a program that processes the numbers only. It…
  • I felt the same way but for some reason I never lost any weight. People would even comment about how health I eat all the time. I would encourage you to log what you eat for a week, not even trying to diet, just to really see how many calories you eat. I wish I did this before I started my journey!! Then if you are at a…
