  • I know exactly how you feel! I dropped 70lbs in 7 months many years ago. I went from a US 12/14 to a US 00. Because I lost the weight so quickly I didn't have time to get used to my new body and I was more self conscious after losing the weight then I was before. Granted, I was way too thin and had no idea what I was doing…
  • Anything I get in my email that says it is free (like download this free video on OHP!) it is ony free IF you buy his buddies book. I just stick with the spread sheet I downloaded and I use an app on my phone called strong log to keep up with my lifts.
  • 4'11" here as well. I weigh 145 and I am 30 years old. I strength train 3 days a week using the stronglifts 5x5 program and have been for about 6 weeks now. And I take a zumba class once a week. I have lost inches but no weight which is very common when starting a strength training program. Stats from a week ago: Neck:…
  • I think it is funny that all these people eating 1200 calories really think we care how much they eat. As far as I can see you have an opinion and people eat more have another. Usually the frustration comes from seeing how well it works for MOST people and people like you thinking that they are talking to you. I will let…
  • Based on your height and weight you BMR is 1550. Your TDEE is just over 1850 calories to maintain and a 20% cut is about 1500. This is with NO EXERCISE. check it out: http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/
  • 1200 calories isn't the magic number to get you out of starvation mode FYI. You are eating way to little. I am 8 inches shorter than you and I eat 1500 calories a day. I would suggest to find out your TDEE and eat less than that. Try to not cut more than 20% off TDEE. The reason you are gaining is probably because your…
  • I second the woosh. It can be pushed by alcohol consumption which I see you enjoyed :-) I love that side affect!

  • I think there was a misunderstanding, or maybe a reading comprehension issue with this conversation. I am glad you are on the same page now:-)
  • From some one how lifted in High school, to not lifting at all. I would suggest a beginner program that allows you to gain strength quickly but not worry about the complicated stuff. I am currently doing Stronglifts 5x5. It is a simple beginner program that is designed to gain strength quickly. I have been doing the…
  • I does get easier the more you go! I never went to the gym regularly until the beginning of this year. I started on the elliptical and increased my speed and time every day I went. I knew if I pushed my self too hard at first I would burn out quick and not go! Once I did that for a few months I moved over to the circuit…
  • I lift weights to try and maintain as much lean muscle as possible and body re composition. You lose weight a little slower, but you will have a better chance losing fat this way. With cardio only you run the risk of losing muscle along with the fat. Then you are just skinny fat.
  • Don't worry, I won't. I lift weights and lose by eating 1500-1600 cals a day. I am under 5 foot :)
  • I agree. I just had a rest week due to being sick and I feel like it was the best thing ever. I was planning on doing my regular exercise and just eating my TDEE for the week to make it easier to get through the holiday. But since I got sick I ended up eating at TDEE (sometimes over) that included exercise, but instead I…
  • I can understand cravings. I would DIE without pizza in my life. So what did I do? I changed my lifestyle to allow me to eat pizza and still lose weight. Most diets will fail if you do not give yourself something to look forward to. I saw that you did some research on splenda and decided that wasn't healthy for you. I…
  • Read this again and try not to over think it! This is for fat loss and is a lifestyle change, not a diet. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/682138-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Edited to add: Sometimes having some one else run your numbers helps. If you send me your stats I can help you if you like.…
  • I am making so lower cal things for thanks giving along with some crazy high cal things. It is all about balance. Even if you don't cook anything low cal, it is only 1 meal and will not set you back as much as you think! 1 Brined Turkey (Alton Brown Recipe), Skinnytaste.com Sweet Potato casserole, Brussels Sprouts Roasted…
  • Chicken Tikka??!!?? Yum!! I love subway, but my BF does not so I don't get it often. When I do, its one of the lower fat ones with no cheese and the works minus jalapenos. For breakfast: 6 in flatbread with egg white ham and pepper jack cheese with tomato, spinach and pepper.
  • This makes me feel so much better. I have never had pain/soreness in this location so I did not know what to think!
  • I just looked it up and that is what my trainer had me do yesterday. I made it feel better. So did he just do that before a work out or more than that?
  • Look up Stronglifts 5x5 or starting strength. I have been doing Strong lifts for the last 4 weeks and it has been awesome!
  • I love how no matter what anyone says on this board it ends up in an argument or some one saying. I don't know what your deal is, I have no problem eating 1200 cals a day." even though nobody asked you that!!!! To the original poster: Congrats on finding your energy again! It is an awesome thing to listen to your body! To…
  • When I used to do this circuit I would burn about 250-300 calories if I did the step up and raised my knee on each one really fast. I was about 150lbs and just under 5 foot and 30 years old if that helps at all. It is a good workout for beginners. I have since moved over to the free weights and another Gym.
  • The shortest pair of work pants I could find was at Walmart. I have other ones that are short enough if I wear a 1-2 inch wedge.
  • I just started, but I welcome any new friends! I am going to do my 2nd workout today and I am stoked! I was really sore after the first work out even though it felt like it was almost too easy while I was doing it!!
  • Have you taken measurments? The scale is a poor way of tracking progress when lifting.
  • Wait, you are eating 500 calories a day or you have a deficit of 500 caloires? 500 calories a day is probably about how much a new born should be eating and yes you probably are in starvation mode. go here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 follow these instructions,…
