I feel like people are afraid of these threads now. Bump?

I eat it if it fits my Macros. Have I hit my carb, protein, fat and fiber goals (or am I VERY close to them)? Do I have some extra calories left over? Yup, I'm going to have that ice cream/cake/drink, etc. I eat something junky every day. Works better that way for me. Although, I usually go a little crazy on the weekends.…

Skinny Cow ice cream/snacks, or a Fiber One brownie.

Sorry if I missed this, but how long have you been trying to lose those 8lbs with no results? And when you see those "gains" of 2lbs or so, is it immediately after a high sodium day? I've looked through your diary a bit, and I don't see anything "wrong" or "bad" with it. I'd suggest watching your sodium (you do have a few…

Yes, when I was a kid. I don't remember why, but boy oh boy, was my mom pissed.

The only thing I've truly given up are energy drinks. 1) I don't need that much caffeine anymore. 2) I'd rather use my calories for more yummy options. Like ice cream, pizza, etc. Nom.

Your story is amazing, you are a great writer, and you look FANTASTIC. Seriously, you're hot. :flowerforyou: Keep up the amazing work.

Food is a very personal thing for some people. I prefer being able to view diaries, but I don't get mad if I can't. I just won't comment on the diary entry if I can't view it (I don't want to accidentally support something unhealthy). I like being able to read diaries mainly for food ideas. I tend to eat the same thing…

Oh, Whierd. I think we could be friends IRL.

Haven't read any replies yet (I will) so I do apologize if my comment is a repeat. Yes, the so-called "MFP Police" were all uneducated once too. I'm sure learning everything they know about healthy, sustainable weight loss techniques took them a long time since they likely taught themselves. They simply speed up the…

I just recently started weighing my meat and pasta. Used my scale yesterday to weigh a piece of a coworker's birthday, cake too. :P Never even considered weighing peanut butter, cereal, etc. I'm glad my scale is small- looks like it's going to be traveling with me far more often.

Wait, wait, wait. Netting ~200 calories for the day is not good, healthy or sustainable. I'm not one to say you have to eat back ALL of your exercise calories, but it's usually good to eat back 1/2 to 2/3rds of them. If you aren't hungry there are easy ways to get calories into your system. Things like peanut butter,…

^ This. Also OP, I hope you saw the guidelines I posted towards the bottom of page 5 of this thread. You can definitely get your necessary fats in if you adhere to those guidelines. Quoted again below, in case you missed it: Edited to remove excess quotes.

I and a few others talked about the drinking. He's a 28 year old dude, 6 feet tall and 196 lbs. 12 beers and ~8 oz of whiskey spread over 2 days is not THAT much, and it certainly doesn't set off alcoholism bells. He's a young guy and he drinks on the weekends. I feel like everyone is reading that he drinks that much EVERY…

Overall I agree with what you've said. Just found the shake part a bit funny. I use a shake for breakfast and lunch- but those are only 340 calories of the ~1,500 to 1,600 calories I eat a day. Meal replacement shakes aren't the devil when used properly. :flowerforyou:

Better start then yesterday at least. How many calories do you burn on an average run, btw? Just some information for you based on your stats. This is based on your personal stats + assumption that you have 7-21 hours of strenuous exercise each week (I assumed you run for ~2 hrs/day). -Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): 1517…

I've given up on this argument, *for now*. She claimed yesterday in the second nuked thread that eating only 1,100 calories would not be the norm. I will give her the benefit of the doubt until she continues to net virtually nothing for the day.

 You win the internet for today.

I take Tri-Sprintec. It's a pill. No weight gain, no mood swings, it improved my skin health and controls my TOM.
-
Whatever, I'm in again. OP, I am looking forward to seeing your caloric intake versus what you burn today. Hopefully you listen to the healthy advice you've received, and prove us wrong regarding our concerns. If you can indeed get your Net Calories to a healthy point consistently then I will be very interested to see your…

I don't drink Sunday-Thursday, except for the occasional glass of wine. I drink pretty heavily every Friday and Saturday, though. I'm always within 200 Net calories of my weekly goal thoughI so it doesn't affect me much. :drinker:
-
Clever meal planning on non game days, and extra exercise on the days you know you'll be munching on game day treats. That's my plan. :) Just don't forget to enjoy yourself!
-
She meant MFP isn't the place to diagnose alcoholism. I addressed it, though. Quoted below. :flowerforyou:
-
I'm generally netting 200 calories under my daily goal during the week, but I always go way over on Saturday/Sunday. My weekly goal is usually within 200 calories +/-.
-
Everyone agreed he was in the overweight category. We disagreed with her statement saying he was obese.
-
It's simple for me, really. I finally got to a mental place where I wanted to change for me and me only. Once I realized I was doing this for myself without anyone else telling me I should, everything fell into place.
-
Will try soon. Sounds yummy.
-
I just stuck up for you on page 1. Please don't go back to actively trying to force him into anything. :grumble:

About 12 beers and 8 oz of Whiskey spread over 2 days (assuming by weekend she meant Saturday and Sunday) doesn't sound awful for a dude his size, especially if he's young. Sounds like a typical twenty something year old. Of course, I'm 22, newly single and just now discovering bars. Could be biased I suppose. :P
