I never said anywhere in this thread that speed of results wouldn't vary. I'm just saying caloric deficit = weight loss. Caloric surplus = weight gain.

I hope you're not saying *I* resorted to harassment. (?)

Even with the people who have conditions that might slow weight loss or make it a bit more tricky, it's still all about Calories In vs. Calories Out. Will they lose weight as quickly or in the exact same way as other people? No. But they will still lose weight. ETA: I am not speaking to anyone with extreme and/or rare…

Seriously? She's obviously an exception. If she came onto the message boards and explained her situation, no one would be like "oh look at the special snowflake".

I'm the type of person who can eat the same thing every day for all of eternity, provided I actually like the taste. Breakfast/Lunch/Snacks are the same for me day to day, for the most part. I try to mix it up with my dinners, but I'm new to cooking and short on time, so I end up doing a lot of repeats there too. The…

It's implied that you're referring to caloric deficits, OP, because "special snowflake" is a term used almost exclusively for healthy (meaning no medical conditions that would inhibit weight loss) people who are saying "Oh em gee. I'm eating at a deficit and STILL not losing. Guess I'm just different! Ha-ha-ha." As for…

@rainbow, yeah a lot of people here seem to be against PF for that reason. :P Thank you though! And thank you everyone else for your thoughts. :drinker:

My "last straw" was when my ex and I decided to divorce. I looked back and realized he would tell me "Let's get healthy" but then feed me crap food all the time, never wanted to exercise with me, etc. So basically I decided I wanted to "win" the divorce by looking hot. Lol. But honestly, I just knew I'd be starting down a…

Perfect- thanks! :) I'm fairly certain deadlifts are against corporate policy or something (sigh). Plus they have that lunk alarm (which I find incredibly stupid) which goes off if you drop heavy weights, even from a few inches. If there is a bar around though maybe I can use that for squats eventually whenever I outgrow…

I totally agree, haha. I loooove seafood and wish there were better choices. I really liked Joe's Crab Shack, but it's kind of pricey, so I don't get to go often. Oh oh oh. I have heard spectacular things about Bluewater Grill in Phoenix. Supposed to be one of the best seafood restaurants in the valley. Might be worth the…

For the record, OP enjoyed all the goofy replies and she took the serious advice as she saw fit. A few posts ago she mentioned she just decided to go to the doctor, and even earlier on she admitted it probably wasn't an addiction- she just really likes sweets.

I see, that makes sense. I'll have to toy around with the timing since I won't be doing intense cardio (as I mentioned I'll just be walking on an incline). Totally logical though. Stupid question... does 5x5 refer to 5 sets with 5 reps?
-
Thanks for your reply! :) I do have a question, though. Why does the timing of cardio matter?

Why do you think the DSM is a joke? Genuinely curious. :flowerforyou:

I've never gone, but I know people who have and it seems great. I'm considering doing the free trial soon. I really like that they outfit you with an HRM so you can see your progress at the end of class, and it seems like a positive environment. If there is one near you that offers the free trial, I'd give it a shot.…

Didn't we already have this discussion for 10 pages today....? :ohwell:

As cliche as it is, I honestly really love Kona Grill for sushi (at Chandler mall). I've never been to a "korean" restaurant I don't think, but I like chinese food. :P There's a really good place on Gilbert just south of Williamsfield, near the Fry's. It's a small place facing west onto Gilbert RD.

To everyone saying that OP is an adult and it's her responsibility blah blah blah... I think she knows that. I took her post as simply wanting people on her friends list who actually pay attention. There's nothing wrong with that. Feel free to friend me, OP. I do my best to actually look at diaries before commenting.

True. TNP is having a snack craving.

@sky3z, little bit like Pharrell.

This is an extreme example, but I'm going to say it anyway because some people (not saying you :flowerforyou:) are making it black and white- implying that *no matter what* you should find your spouse physically attractive. What if your hubby weighed 600lbs? I'm willing to bet you'd be less inclined to take a roll in the…

Noah Puckerman from Glee, because of the mohawk. :P

Anyone here claiming that they are NOT superficial, and that no matter what their spouse looks like they'll still find them sexy, etc is quite honestly full of BS. Either that, or you're all very special little snowflakes. I also think someone mentioned that OP is 22. It's not unreasonable for a young adult in a young…
