 I wasn't referring to your lupus. I'm referring to all the marriage advice, and now apparently fat-shaming that you're doing. ETA: I also have chronic health issues. But it doesn't make me cool and I don't run around on the forums trying to solicit sympathy from complete strangers.

Please stop making the rest of us 23 year olds look like immature know-it-alls.

It was implied that eating twinkes = not fit. Still waiting on the three ways eating clean contributes more to fitness than eating "twinkies" or whatever else does.

I do not see a long lasting marriage, or any relationship for that matter, anywhere in your future.

"OMG I hate attention wh*res even when they aren't trying to be one!" Followed shortly by: "Hey guys look at this quote that I made up, you can tell I made it up because I put '-me' at the end of it. I'm so witty!" Teasing aside, I really don't think "D" did anything wrong. She got asked to hang out. She showed up.…

OP didn't mention whether or not he footed the bill for all the shots and food. If not, I don't think he's your type.

Boom. /thread

To OP: I second all of the advice saying that this 7 day diet idea isn't your best bet. If you want to juice, have it as a snack during your day, but still eat actual food. Come Thanksgiving, eat in moderation and log it.
-
*I* understand how calories/exercise work. I was asking you to expand on that in case there were lurkers who might misinterpret what you said, since you did indeed suggest that OP should "net" lower than 1,200 calories without any further explanation of what you actually meant. I agree with your clarification.

SideSteel said it better than I did. Not surprised. :flowerforyou:
-
I already started typing before you edited, so meh, you're getting an answer anyway. :flowerforyou: Besides- the calculations for macros are automatic once you enter your food (and they translate to your pie chart). Macros dictate how many calories you're eating, since macros have a certain amount of calories per gram.…

I think we just had the most civil debate ever in MFP history.
-
TDEE is calculated with your exercise included. So unless you plan to up your exercise significantly (ie; instead of going to the gym 3x per week normally, you decide to start going 4x per week) it does not change. TDEE is a completely different calculation than what MFP uses. MFP uses the NEAT method, which does not…
-
Raise your rates? I'm not made of money, woman! You're killing me. :grumble:
-
If you are using MFP and not calculating your own macros then yes. But if you are calculating your own macros based on your goals (which is more effective for me/in my opinion) then no, exercise does not give you anything extra. I calculate my TDEE and my macros and they are static. I also used this to tweak my diary so…
-
Yeah, it depends on your goals. For instance I am in maintence (ish) and focusing on a body recomp, which is why my macros are important to me. Having said that, I am not perfect and I usually blow it at least once a week. If you are interested in focusing on macros in addition to counting calories, try this:…

My favorite no cal foods are the ones I don't remember eating while I was drunk.
-
Exercise doesn't give you back your macros. But, I understand the general feel of what you're saying.
-
Ok? "Don't want to be bothered with" and "giving up because I'm deprived" are two VERY different things.
-
Anything is possible, yes. But I have literally never heard of/seen someone give up on IIFYM due to "restrictions and deprivation". I have, however, seen a lot of posts about people giving up on low carb/paleo/clean eating/etc. IIFYM is the closest you can get to a "normal" (read: non diet) lifestyle.
-
Typically when people speak about "depriving" themselves of food while they're on a "diet" it means they can't have them, ever, at all. Which is not the case on IIFYM. But again, that is the case with clean eating and other styles of dieting.
-
IIFYM does NOT have food boundaries. Just. I can't even. GAH. IIFYM has PLANNING boundaries. I've not once felt deprived doing IIFYM because I have at least half a brain and I know how to think ahead. Also, you keep talking about carbs. What's funny is that is the hardest macro for me to hit, because it's so dang high. I'm…
-
Then you call it a bad week and move on, like a normal human being. 99% of people who follow IIFYM know that planning is key. You plan so that you DON'T have to deprive yourself. The fact that you think IIFYM = deprivation is, quite frankly, ludicrous. ETA: Also what Jonnythan said RE: deprivation.

I saw you just agreed that "week to week" is a better way to track. No one hits their macros perfectly 100% of the time. I'm willing to bet that you're under carbs at least once a week- so if you want that Hershey bar, eat it. It's going to even out over the course of the week and it will work towards your protein goal for…
-
Wrong. Hershey's bars have protein, last time I checked. So you can still eat it.
-
Giggity. But, I agree with you. I've had ice cream just about every night this week. I've also had fruit/veggies. They fit my macros.
-
Your poor taste buds. Dirt all the time must be terrible!

It is a lot of fast food, though. That's why I friended him. It's a freaking piece of art. For the record, I follow IIFYM. Not sure if you thought I was against it or something.
