  • Buy it, take a sip, dump it immediately. OR Convince a friend to buy it, sip it, hand it back. OR Just say no. I crave the carbonation every now and then. It will pass.
  • I took a pic of a random guy once (once) at a mall but only cause he looked like someone straight out of a "who dun it" book and it inspired me to write quite a large chunk of a story. It is impossible to make out any of his specific details, he wasn't "cute" and Ive since deleted the photo. It was spontaneous and hasn't…
  • Mini goal for today: Get inspired (CHECK) Thank you !
  • Taller AND cuter. I approve :) Well done! Can't wait to see the finished product!
  • The idea is IF you ate exactly that way every day for the next 5 weeks and maintained exactly that same activity level that is your projected estimated weight. Since you know that you are going to have better days than others, just think of it as a mini goal. Log it for "5 weeks from now" and see if you succeed. Some days…
  • This ^^ Why deny yourself the finer things in life just because you are losing weight? Workout then eat more. Its like, my favorite motto.
  • ...wow... if thats 15 servings.. thats how many calories!? O.o
  • I lost 130lbs and the handful of days I hit 1200 cals I was either really sick or was one of my "traveling" days when I was still learning how to pay attention to traveling food. Dont be so presumptuous.
  • Things that influence the calories burned: Heart rate Influenced by distance you walk, pace you are setting, your weight, and your current physical condition anything a machine tells you for cals burned is an estimate. The best you can do is figure out your target heart rate for a calorie burn, then get out there on that…
  • ..that glass of wine that really would like some attention too, please.
  • "Instead, I'm the kind of guy who works out every day. I'm the guy who takes care of his body. I'm an athlete. I don't do it very well at this point, but that's who I am now, and I won't stop until I reach my goal. " Awesome perspective switch. I never thought of looking at it quite like that before, but you're right :)…
  • ^^ this. I cut out soda 3 years ago, but for different reasons. I haven't had fast food burgers in, like forever, but that's more because I figured out what I love about those burgers is the greasy salt... or.. the salty grease. But the actual food has no memorable flavor or appeal to me. But man I miss that greasy salt…
  • 1. What makes you smile most? My kids. (that includes grandbaby.) My older son has my sense of humor, my younger son is working on his, and my daughter knows how to say the right things when my mood slips. And my grandbaby makes me happy just by existing :) 2. Who makes you the happiest in your life right now? Hubby.…
  • Probably Lasagna. With a huge, delicious salad and garlic bread. And some wine. Either theyd eat it and love it, or theyd complain about the calories and let me eat their share too :D Win/Win
  • My mom likes telling me how I "shouldn't be eating that!" if I intend to lose weight.. even though it's stuff I've been eating for the last year. I figure everyone's an expert on how to lose weight as long as it isn't them doing it. Just smile and feel bad for them being so sadly misinformed and enjoy your cake!
  • I guess my thought is - you must have known the shoot was coming up, a pound is "pretty easy" to lose (and srsly?! 1 lb?) Detoxes, cleanses, yick. Avoid and make better food choices to lose weight and maintain that loss..
  • Mayo, squishy cheeses, cheesecake, hotdogs, white chocolate, Ive grown to dislike most "jellies" but enjoy homemade jams.
  • LoL - have more self respect.. If he loves you, then he loves you. All of you. From the bony butt to the jiggling upper arms. This guy sounds like a real tool. Im too much of a snarker to let someone talk to me like that. "I love you, but..." tell him how his words are making you feel. HONESTLY If he concedes great, but it…
  • Lame but true... My first weighin scale was an older scale that had been accumulating cobwebs for a LONG time. When I started this adventure last year I had been using it for weighins (long before I knew about consistent weighin times) but it was giving me different read outs every time I stepped on it. So we figured it…

  • 93lbs gone looks so great on you!! Congrats on a truly amazing year anniversary :) much props to you for sticking to it!
  • bump for later!
  • I don't get the whole demonizing carbs thing.. Carbs are yummy.. My son loves my spaghetti - whole wheat pasta, (your preferred) pasta sauce, and 93% lean hburger browned with lots of seasoning (yummy garlic <3 ) Add a salad to that with a sprinkling of shredded cheese. You could even add a can of diced tomatoes with green…
  • I hit a low of 221 in Dec, and am at 225 atm. Sucks but it's life. You can expect more life things to happen, so learn to roll with it. Regroup - get your bearings, look at what youre doing right now and prep yourself for recommitting. Reevaluate - Figure out where you were, where you are, where you want to be. What worked…
  • My glass is empty and I have to pee but I don't want to leave my space heater :(
  • Change up what you eat, rather than eat more. Incorporating nuts like walnuts or almonds eats up calories while providing a lot of positive benefits (good cholesterol, healthy fats, etc) The day I have 3000 calories excess to eat back will be the day I weep for joy :P Great job you!
  • the taste of water out of a tap makes me gag. Well water is only marginally better, drinking it out of a fresh mountain spring YUMMY in moderation. But I drink it anyway
  • apples, bananas, almonds, walnuts, homemade whole wheat muffins are my usual go-to. Filling in a healthy way and not hardhitting on calories (ok the nuts are, but they are good for you.) Oh Fig bars too. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/fig-and-walnut-energy-bars-recipe/index.html You can tweak this…
  • January 28th, 2012 I started MFP knowing that in 6 months I would be doomed to have GBSurgery (it terrifies me, so for me it was the end of the world) I knew I would fail. I hated myself every second for the first 3 weeks, had many MANY setbacks where I just wanted to give up and quit - so easy to just give up. Through…
