  • I weigh in nearly every day and then once a week I take an average and plot that too seperately, so I have a "trend" weight. Means I don't get annoyed if I see the scales go up!
  • Woohoo, it's not just me then! All I want to do is EAT as much chocolate as is humanly possible at the moment! Letting myself eat at maintainence for a couple of days and indulging in a bit of junk food!
  • Biscuits/cookies.. any type of chocolate. Banana milkshake and angel delight are also faves!
  • I did them too - I did them in sets of 60, making a total of 420 and a total of 7 minutes
  • Polar FT4 or FT7 seem very popular on the forums!
  • Take a photo of the connected ovals, upload to your computer. Then go to google and type "image search" into the search bar - you can then upload the photo you took and google will find other images online which match - might work!
  • Ah no! Is there any way to calculate calories burned through strength training then, if not through using a HRM? Lifting free weights and using the weights machines must burn calories?
  • Thanks for so many replies - one more question I just thought of - I personally want a HRM to use when weight lifting and when in the gym - are either the FT4 or FT7 compatible with gym equipment? I've heard of some HRMs interfered by the machines and not working properly?
  • When I found out it is illegal to drive with a few inches of snow on top of your car.. or to drive through a puddle and splash a pedestrian! Haven't done either of those things personally, but didn't realise you could get points on your license and a fine for doing them!!
  • Thanks for everyone's replies - and to OP for putting this up originally! Silly question, but can the heart rate alarm be turned off? I'm still pretty unfit and think I'd be really embarrassed if an alarm blared at me everytime my HR went over the "limit" whilst on the treadmill or something!!
  • Haha, sounds fun! I'm in, I'll do them tomorrow - I'm looking after some friend's children so should give the kids a good laugh!
  • Sorry, I don't own either but I too am looking at both so bumping - fingers crossed for some responses! :)
  • Ah mystery solved - I thought it was just me who was unable to get onto the forums via the app!
  • Hi! I'm Bree, 23 from the UK. Looking forward to this challenge! 6lbs by Valentines day.. 2lbs a week, eek! Better get my butt back in the gym tomorrow!
  • My starting weight is 185/187 lbs.. My scales couldn't make their mind up this morning pfft! So aiming for 180, in the middle!
  • Do you have any good friends at work that you could 'confide' in that you're trying to eat healthier and to tell you to step away from the vending machine? Sounds silly, but I've been asking two of my colleagues (who are good friends) to do that if they see me going to get dessert or unhealthy snacks to tell me off and…
  • I can relate - I can be "good" and super strict, stick to my 1500-1700 calories a day, hit the gym daily etc for 2-3 weeks.. then have a day like today where I eat one biscuit.. and then it turns into some sort of frenzied eating whereby I sit and eat about 20+ biscuits and a slice of cake and want to just get as much junk…
  • Well done for taking the first few steps and joining up to MFP! Start small, for example - drinking more water (aim for 2L a day), eating a couple of pieces of fruit and veg a day, etc. Then, consider something you could cut back on - for example, I've stopped drinking fizzy drinks i.e - "soda" and cut out biscuits and…
  • Wowee, definitely sexy and not masculine! Inspiration! :)
  • Whilst I do think that things other than 'looks' are super important in a guy, height is something that I do always find initially very attractive - I personally don't think I'd date a guy who was shorter than me. I'm loving all the variety of responses on here!! xx
  • Hi, I'm 5ft 10, 188lbs and aiming for 164! Really exciting to find other ladies with similr stats! xx
  • Someone on another thread posted this: If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal, If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal, If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal, If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal. So,…
  • That is SO awesome - well done! Sorry if this is repeating what others have said, but there is a podcast you can download for free called "C25K - Couch To 5K" and it's a running programme that you do for 20 - 30 mins, x3 a week for 9 weeks - Week 1 starts "Begin with a brisk 5-minute walk, then alternate 60 seconds of…
  • I have a pair of boardie/swim shorts.. yes, I know it's way too early to think about summer and swimwear! However, in November I couldn't get them on.. I can now get them on and done up.. they just don't look too great! Would love to be fitting in them comfortably by valentines.. that way I know I have plenty of time to…
  • Hello! 23, 5ft 10 (was 5 ft 11.. I've clearly already started shrinking!!!) Currently at 188lbs, goal weight of 168lbs inititally.. so 20lbs to lose... Signed up for a few running/challenge events this year so lots of fitness related goals. Do I have a twin out there? xx
  • Here's how I've been trying to think of it after a bad day or two.. this healthy eating/exercise malarky is going to be a LIFESTYLE change for you, NOT another fad diet. So you had 2 bad days.. that might feel rubbish.. but 2 out of 365 of this year? Even if you had 4 "bad" days a month, or one bad day a week, that still…
  • I've not had a food binge in 3 weeks (a big deal considering I was eating a packet of biscuits in one sitting almost daily!) I have been drinking at least 2 litres of water every day for 2 weeks. I have been to the gym 6 out of 7 days for the past 2 weeks. The zip up hoodies I wear over my tees for work are slightly loose,…
  • Ahh I totally understand this feeling! Previously I've got on the "healthy lifestyle" wagon (aka a diet fad!!) and lost 5-7lbs in the first week alone.. this time I'm being sensible, this is not a diet, it's my life, for the next 60+ (hopefully!!) years... I'm 2lbs down after 18 days in, and whilst it's frustrating, I have…
  • Hello! I'm 23, 5 ft 10, 188lbs and would like initially to goal for 161. Anyone with similar stats who would like to track together? :)
