My understanding is you need 10K steps to MAINTAIN weight. My advice is to use the pedometer to set a goal for yourself and up it 10-20% a week. FYI- When I walked 10 miles it took me 18,000 steps. However that is according to my bodybugg.

Have you tried halibut? Yummy and easy to cook in a foil packet. I found it is cheapest at Costco (in the freezer section)

I am in......I am starting P90 on Monday. I thought I would try a round of P90 before trying the X. Starting weight 166 Push-up 12 (military style push-up) sit-up 38 in 1 min Energy level - Sucks.

Check with your gym. Most gyms offer a free "learn to use the equipment" class. If not, get a session with a trainer tell them your goal is to get a routine and learn to use the equipment. If nothing else, use the machines they have pictures on them and instructions. Start slow. Use a weight that you can do 3 sets of 8 -12…

Fiber One - Oats & Chocolate Bar When I need a quasi healthy chocolate fix I eat a Fiber One Oats & Chocolate bar. Really tasty only 140 cal and 35% RDA of fiber. It makes a good "need to run out of the house" breakfast.

I'd spend the money on some new bras (correctly) sized, before I would by new pants. It's just me but a bad fitting bra can ruin any outfit. Ditch the old clothes.......

Penny, The results maybe slow at first, but they snowball. Make sure you set responsible goals for yourself. The key is both food and exercise. Exercise even if that means only a walk around the block at first....then 2 next week. You will do great!

Pop your own popcorn is a great Idea (the healthy type that is). Maybe make some homemade trail mix. THe trail mix will give you the fix. A small portion of dove won't hurt you every once in a while.

I think the black team went way overboard. It is like a teenager who gets out of a restrictive home for the first time. I just ordered P90 (the easier, 30 min&half priced version). P90 is the precursor to P90X and is designed for people who are not is great shape already. I'll let you know how it goes.

Rebcolorado's suggestion is great, but if you don't want to go that high-tech yet and save some money.... A heart Heart rate monitor will do wonders. 1. It will make sure you are not running to fast or slow. 2. It will also give you an approximation of calories burned. I really like my polar fitness F4.
