  • It's very cute!! And I love that you got such a bargain! I love dresses, they are very forgiving, lol. I spent the majority of my time in a skirt or dress!
  • I have a bad hip, and I screwed it up when I tried running/jogging. Also I have kids at home and a husband who works whackadoo hours often. I think when both kids are in school in the fall I'll give it another go.
  • Yup, you have to start all over again. If the biopsy was for Celiac, then you can safely go GF now. However, should you get a negative response on the biopsy or blood test, that does not necessarily indicate that gluten is not an issue. The only way to know for sure is to give it a good try GF. There are gluten…
  • It can take 2 weeks or more to see a difference (it depends on your metabolism more than anything). I'd give it an extra week or two to see if you see a difference. Also, it could be something else, or something in addition to gluten. The only way to know for sure if its food related is to do a Total Elimination diet. That…
  • My oldest was diagnosed at 3 with ASD. I felt relief, though my husband still does not believe it :(. He has ADD and OCD tendencies as well. No brain to mouth filter either, lol! He's a really great kid, I couldn't imagine life without him! He started speaking when we put him on a gluten free diet with me, and he may have…
  • Welcome! Restricted diets are hard, I am gluten free and my son is gluten and dairy free. Since having my gallbladder out, I have trouble with uncooked veggies and iceberg lettuce (other kinds are fine?? I don't know why lol). Good luck with everything!
  • Hi! I'm an implant as well, been here 6 months now. I love it here! I'm right on the WI border (I can see WI from my living room window, lol). I'm from IL, and lived there my whole life. I don't think I've ever felt as comfortable anywhere as I do here. I'm so happy my husband got a job offer here :).
  • Our dog is named Eva - like the robot in Wall-E , lol! (kids named her) But I've had: Chewy (short for Chewbacca - female Great Pyrenees) Anakin (male Great Pyr) Luke (Siamese cat) Cleo (Siamese cat) Han Solo (Blue & Gold Macaw) Molly (Dalmatian) Cosmos (Dalmatian) Midnight - cat Soco (Abyssinian cat, male, actual name…
  • My favorite pizza. And I'm not avoiding due to diet - I'm avoiding due to a severe issue with gluten. I wish the owner would come up with a GF version, as he has Celiacs himself :(. He can't even eat his own delicious pizza anymore.
  • mmmm, Love them!!! Were they the little soft ones?? Cause they are soooo good!! We just moved a few months ago, and are finally within driving distance of TJ's, its about 40 minutes (before it was an hour and a half to the nearest one, just not cost effective!). Love their rice pasta too! I make most of my own stuff, pizza…
  • I haven't tried that cake mix (actually, I've never heard of it). But I have tried Namaste cake mix, and had to bake without eggs for approx. 2 years. I've found that applesauce and mashed bananas make a great egg sub, and flax seed as well. Do you have any gf cookbooks? I highly recommend the Allergen Free Bakers…
  • Now that I have time to type... I do not have an official diagnosis, I have an UNofficial diagnosis. I saw a GI when I had issues with my gallbladder, and she said she was sure I have Celiacs, or non Celiac gluten intolerance, lol. But, since my regular doc refused to do testing or send me for testing, I'll never know for…
  • Aw I'm so sorry!! It's such a hard decision, but it sounds like he's in a lot of pain :(. I feel for you, and for your son. I was his age when we had to put my dalmatian down due to cancer. It's rough.
  • You look great!!! I can really see the difference. I can't wait to finish it myself!
  • Your Story is so like mine! Glad you feel better, what a great feeling!
  • It's everywhere, and I can't have it. But, as an avid label reader to begin with (gluten and dairy free in my house to watch for!), I catch it easily.
  • Though my husband is overweight, he can easily lose weight. I went gluten free? He's gluten free 80% of the time (except the junk he eats at work where I obviously can't see, lol), and he loses nearly 60lbs. No working out, not making any real changes - just the fact that I cook healthier at home. What do I do? I GAIN…
  • I started it today. I must need to follow the more advanced lady, lol!! I'm not like jelly at all! But, I do weights 3-4 days a week too, and pushups. i was in fact, dying by the end, lol. We'll see how I'm doing tomorrow though!
  • We really only watch the TV shows anymore 1. Being Human (UK version) 2. Top Gear (UK) 3. The Office 4. SHERLOCK!!! YES! (Each episode is like a whole movie, about an hour and a half long) 5. How I Met Your Mother. 6. King of the Hill 7. Downton Abbey
  • dhencel - is this real rye bread or are you subbing something?? (Since rye is a big no no??) Yup, I love the Udi's bread and pizza crust. I want to try their muffins and cupcakes! Our store just got them in, and they now have premade pizzas!! And the price was not terrible at all!! I really want to try it. Don't give up…
  • Yeah, please don't do this. You will never get off those gluten foods!! I, too, get sick if my husband eats something with gluten and I kiss him. And I SWEAR gluten free can be just as good as the bad stuff. My family has been iffy on my gluten freeness for years, but even my super picky Dad has agreed that my cakes, are…
  • um, don't eat junk food and drink beer? Tip 1: don't buy it. Tip 2: don't let anyone bring it in the house. Other than that, I got nothing. I mean, in all seriousness - if you want it, then allow the calories for it and TRACK it. It's really all on you. Once in a while is no big deal - but if its every weekend, or every…
  • Lately, its "you know, the one that just moved here from Illinois(e)". And yeah, there isn't an E at the end of Illinois. It is not pronounced "El in Noise". Just sayin', lol.
  • You can add me, I'm not officially diagnosed - but am unofficially diagnosed, lol. We'll just go with "reaction trumps test" :). I've been gluten free for about 3 years (or 4? now I can't remember...)

  • Sorry you're hurting. This is exactly why my kitchen is GF all the time. It's too hard to avoid when its shoved into my face! (Well, that and I don't want to contaminate my baking utensils)
  • Just Dance 2! Love it! I need to get back into it too, I've been such a slacker lately.
  • My best advice is to not count on bread. Baking gf bread can be difficult, but check out the blog glutenfreeonashoestring.com. She's got a ton of good recipes. But, gf baking is not always conducive to weight loss! Also, if you want to try gf premade breads, email the company and let them know you have just been diagnosed…
  • Nope, I'm the same way. And 2 pregnancies and a c/section have NOT been helpful either. I'm going to keep working on it... but it'll probably be around forever, lol. Oh well, could be worse! Oh, and I have one side that hangs a little lower than the other too. So weird.
  • We all eat pretty much the same, but they are sooooo picky. There are nights that they will eat only 1 or 2 bites and tell me they're all done. They don't get anything else either. It's very frustrating!!
  • Take a couple days off the protein powder and see what happens. If it goes away, good. Then try the powder again, and if it comes back, you'll have your answer ;)
