  • I was obese when I started and I also started with C25k...it's a wonderful program to start with. Run slow when you run and if you need to stop and walk then do...the point is to keep doing it and you WILL build up strength and endurance I promise you. Once you have the right shoes and keep with it you will find yourself…
  • I am also looking for people who are maintaining or at least very close to their goal weight. It's a different mindset to just have "exercise goals" and "fitness goals" rather than scale goals. I log everything and looking for people who are trying to balance their eating and fitness rather than constantly looking for a…
  • I am 45 (ok...soon to be 46) and started my journey about 13 months ago. I'm happy to support if you'd like to friend me....I am a runner and have just recently started "strength training" so I have strength/toning work yet to do and race goals yet to achieve :)
  • Hello all! I joined this group back when I finished my C25k program and I'm not sure I ever posted here :( I'd love to give some awesome reason but the embarrassing fact is that I didn't scroll down to "groups" on the community boards and forgot all about it. Geesh....so I kept pluggin on by myself and finally here I am…
  • Cage the Elephant - Come a Little Closer
  • cbj - Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey 0061 which is the number of our long time captain Rick Nash (61)
  • this is one of the most common problems.....I think there are several reasons for why it happens. I have found that it's a wonderful thing when you can celebrate it here on MFP with people who have similar struggles and understand what you working toward. Use this as your place to find encouragement and inspiration and let…
  • I'm new to JM and to any strength training at all as I started this journey a year ago with diet, then in May started running and just 10 days ago started the 30DS. I just did 10 days of level 1 and today will move on to level 2 and see what it has to offer. I can only say that I feel strong, never knew I had arm muscles…
  • Hello all....I'm new to not just JM but to strength training in any form. I started this journey a year ago with diet, in May started running and ran until 10days ago when I decided to start getting stronger :) I just finished level 1 (I'm guessing 10 days level 1, 10 days level 2, and 10 days level 3??) of 30DS and after…
  • I have my fitbit linked to MFP and I eat at my "goal calorie intake" on MFP (1400) and always watch my fitbit to make sure I've burned MORE than 1400 calories each day to leave myself at a deficit. I'm not sure if that helps you but I think that the fitbit is great to see steps and to see how many calories I've burned each…
  • anything at about 8 miles or over will get me between 900-1100 calorie burn so it's not that hard if you walk, run, or bike a significant number of miles and time. Most of us who reach that burn are not doing it in a one hour workout
  • Congratulations to you...that is amazing and I'm very proud of you!!!!!
  • Please don't use pills....eat right and exercise....that's all you need to do to have a healthy weight that you can maintain with real food and be happy with. Please take care because your body already has meds in it and those take a toll on your system so be kind to it with your diet and exercise :)
  • Congrats to you! You look great and that smile shows your happiness (and that boy next to you is flippin' adorable too :)
  • Thank you to you all :) I just know that when I started this journey I read these success stories and I'm thrilled to finally be able to post mine. Everyone before me helped me get here so now it's my turn to post mine and hopefully help someone else move along their journey. The journey is worth it....everything we…
  • MFP = My Fitness Pal :)
  • It's critical! I wish I had more before I started losing weight....from the last few years. I did start documenting my loss but I wish I had more "befores" for comparison. Take them! You won't regret it AND they serve a great purpose when you are losing by putting them side-by-side....sometimes you can't see your changes…
  • woooo whoooooo! Keep that shizzle up!!!!!!
  • I'm 5'3" and 141...at my age it's harder to lose weight and if I can do it then anyone can....it's not specific foods that help...it's eating less calories than what you burn. Since we are small even a 1lb a week is hard as that is a 500 calorie deficit a day. You can eat the same and burn 500 calories a day extra or you…
  • Congratulations! You look fabulous and your happy smile tells the story :) I know that not everyone can run due to various heath reasons but I've run exclusively and it can make an amazing difference....you are proof! I hope this inspires others to consider it and use a C25k program to start achieving things they never…
  • I'm hoping someone can explain to me why anyone does a 2000 calorie a day deficit (even by exercising THAT much) just for a holiday??????? I don't get it and I'm trying to understand why everyone is in such a hurry to drop weight? Perhaps I am missing the point; but why in the world wouldn't you just eat and exercise…
  • ^^^ THIS!!!! Love this answer.....it's like time travel
  • Congrats! What an accomplishment!
  • awwww...thank you all so much! I am grateful for people in the same place as I am AND a few FRs that are in maintenance. THIS is why this site is so much help!!!! Grateful beyond words and let's DO THIS....who cares if it's holidays...this battle doesn't have to be so hard and with some support we can make it :D
  • Thanks guys.....appreciate it....even the "home stretch" is a new and difficult experience so having people in the same stage of their journey is important and encouraging so if you are close please consider joining me in these last lbs and in the next stages :). For those of you who still have a long road....hang in…
  • Thanks....FRs sent :). Anyone else in home stretch?
  • Awww...thank you....looks like you are well on your way to goal as well! Sounds like I may not find some friends in the home stretch :(
  • I'm not a single mom but had a very similar reason for the weight gain as my kids were young and "going off and exercising" was not an option.....I'd say perhaps if you are needed there at home with your 5 yr old that the best option might be video/youtube workouts. Then you can do them (mornings or after child is in bed)…
