Thank you! Sounds like my best bet is to run down Canal, up along the river, around and back down along St. Claude to Rampart....I think that's what I'm going with :o
-
I fly in tomorrow and it's supposed to be upper 70s through Tuesday when I leave so we'll see. I know it's like 87 today so there is quite a drop in temp coming over the next 24 hours evidently (there is here in Ohio too so must be impacting the whole eastern states)

:) darn pregnancies....next time perhaps!
-
I agree...at home I run at 5 so I can get ready for work...I think on a vaca I shouldn't have to get up so early :) So between 7-8 isn't early; but earlier than noon :) thank you!!!!
-
No I'll be running alone and yes it would be early....8am each day. I was hoping to head out from FQ straight up New Orleans Ave to the City Park.
-
I'm sorry....New Orleans. I guess if people had run there or are from there they would know and I apologize for that. Then again, no one is offering assistance so I think I'm going to have to resort to the web :)

I did my first in May and I've not signed up for a second yet...but getting itchy to do a second so thought I'd start up the training schedule again.
-
Friend requests sent. Thanks for the offers and hopefully we can all do amazing things together :)
-
and I also forgot to post here that I am on fitbit and MapMyWalk religiously as well.
-
eeek....that's awful; let's hope since I recognize it at 7lbs that I won't do that! Thank you for the invite :)
-
forgot to mention I am faithfully a fitbit and MapMyWalk girl too so if you use those apps I'm all in on those as well :) yeah...guess I'm a bit of a tech geek....it rounds out my hockey and baseball fetish :)
-
bump....still wondering if anyone is training for their first half :)
-
sorry....date was 5/3 but thanks for correcting me.
-
awesome :) Anyone else running it???? It's great to have people you can virtually train with!

MFP is a great place to start! Welcome Leslie :)

Height: 5'3" (on a good day o:) ) SW: 204 CW: 137 GW:depends on the day....140 was my original goal that I thought was a pipe dream but then you make it and you realize how much you'd have to give up to get to 130 and you start to balance "Do I want to be 130 so I can say the number" with "I'd rather be 135-137 if it means…

I understand grimmeanor....since none of my friends are runners I don't want the "0.0" miles sticker comments or "the only post I want to read about your treadmill was if you fell off it" memes :) It's sometimes easier to have runner friends than to hope others support your running/exercise....either way it's easier not to…

awww thanks! Can't wait to cheer each other on....I don't like to post my running on FB because my FB friends don't run so MFP is my exercise motivation :)
-
I just started training for my first half as well...would love some friends who are also :)

I am on only child. We tend to be very confident, independent, bright, and mature. I never once cared about being an only as a child and only now do ever even think about what it would be like to have a sister in particular....only because at 46 years old I see others having "girls days" (frankly nights, weekends, and…
-
thank you :) the 500 days was so very worth it.

Congrats on the weight loss thus far. That is a big number and imagine how you'll feel when the next 70 comes off :) GO YOU :) !!!!
-
That weight loss by inexpensive means (no gyms or classes....just running and cutting back on food) becomes expensive when NOTHING...including your bras, undies, and shoes NO LONGER fit. You want to be excited that you are smaller, but the cost of replacing literally everything you own is incredibly frustrating (and in…

wow...just found this thread and wanted to connect. I had posted this question to my own MFP friends on my wall and everyone just kinda thought I was the only one who had experienced it.....and I don't even know why it's happening. My kids are 13 and 15 and I started running LAST MAY and never had this issue until in the…

Thank God it's Opening Day! Reds fan here

My experience is that runners will cheer you on. Runners don't care if you are overweight, if you stop to walk, if only run a half mile, or if you wear an oversized t-shirt and sweats (which I did when I started)....they are encouraging and accepting of anyone who is trying or who "gets it" :) cause honestly to enjoy…
