thanks ladies :) sent FR and let's remember we CAN do this :) Some times you just gotta work a little harder or change things up a bit

bumping this for "like" friends....40-50, 20lbs or so to lose, let's do this!!!! As goals and progress changes we all need different types of new friends.....I'd like to do this part of the journey with a few people who are in my same boat :)

great advice....thanks for the help :) I'm sure people who "get it" get tired of repeating it but it's so helpful to see/read/hear so thank you all.

I'm bumping this for the same issue...I'd asked on the boards and got no posts so I will use your thread as help :) I lost 48 lbs and watched my diet and stated running. In August I've slowed; I can't say I have completely plateaued but I have only lost about 2.5 lbs this month which is way below my normal 7 so I wanted to…

^^^^ THIS.....two additional thoughts to consider....make sure you are calculating that TDEE with accurate exercise (light vs moderate) so it knows how many calories you need to run your body from day to day .......AND when you eat those "extra" calories make them healthy.....don't fill the extra calories with crappy…

I think that is what is difficult for newbies (or just me) to maybe understand :) I think I should start doing it now to add to/enhance/or whatever my cardio work but not sure what I should start with so I obviously have some learning to do...thanks :)

^^^^ THIS!!!!! great post and I totally agree :)

I have lost 48 lbs in 6 months and started out walking in February...moved to the C25k RunDouble app in April....finished it and I am up to between 3 and 6 miles (some days I do longer 6 mi runs and some lazy days just do 3.1 depends on my mood and time availability). I ran my first 5k August 8th. Most notably I worked up…

ok...I'm sorry...perhaps I used incorrect terminology in the word toning. I am doing well with my diet and running so perhaps that will lead to toning (or whatever term I should use) over time like you said. Thanks. I think perhaps I do not understand what lifting, lunges, and such really does and if diet and running will…

I've lost about 48 lbs since February and all with running. I worked up to a 5K at first and now have worked up to 10k. I want to keep running but don't know that I'm interested in a half....but 10k is fine by me :) Would love some running friends to chat running with. I also want to make sure this weight stays gone. I…

You are doing great! Nice job and great commitment! There is no motivation that beats pictures of yourself as you become "a loser" :drinker:

When I am frustrated click on reports, choose 3 months, see your progress line. It's a reminder that I am moving DOWN which is the totally right direction when I get a little caught up in the scale or motivation to keep going. Put on something you wore before you started losing as a reminder of your weight loss and what…

To give a perspective for you to consider here is what my experience is :) In February I started this journey at 204 at 5'3...that is way too much weight. I started out walking. It became a "math game"....why walk an hour to burn 300 calories if I can workout only 30 minutes by running a little and getting that 300…

Congrats! Doesn't matter how fast or how far.....just run! Outside is such a nice view and fresh air :)

wow...that's awesome!

first of all you look fabulous! second of all congrats on your run....my first is this Thursday and I am now starting to get nervous so you are officially my hero as a veteran 5K'er that I can look up to !!!!!!!!! :drinker:

I use both apps too and I go by the MapMyWalk (only because it not only is calculating based on speed and weight but also your inclines) but I also don't eat back my exercise calories so perhaps if you do eat them back it is better to go with the lower number so you know you are eating at a deficit :)
-
Two options ( I actually did both) first my C25K app told me time, distance, and calories burned and I entered that under cardio on my diary....I also ran (and still run) the MapMyRun app also which calculates it too so I had a comparison to try to be more accurate. I started the program in April and if you want to run…
