I'm not sure how much you can improve on your time. There are so many factors involved...the weather, your training, injuries, nutrition to name a few. Some things you could do to increase your speed and endurance are to run twice or three times the distance several times a week. Include some cross training with weights.…

I like the fact that I have lost 40 lbs and that I'm a bona fide RUNNER! I absolutely love running.

Bravo Ryan! Amazing work, bro! Your family should be so proud of you. I know I am!

Exactly what happened 5 years ago. I lost 40 lbs...did absolutely nothing and gain it all back. I vowed to never ever let it happen again. I workout six days a week and weigh in every day. I don't care what people think about my weighing in every day. I know what it takes for me to stay on the horse this time. I also look…

If you are really serious about losing weight, purchase Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred, Ripped in 30 and Shred & Shed. The dvds are $10 each at Walmart or Target. Do interval treadmill running for 20 minutes, three times a week. Log your food consistently. Have one cheat day or preferably one cheat meal. Have a rest day…

I prefer running outside but I do speed work once a week on the treadmill. Both treadmills and outdoors have their place. It all depends on your goals.

Try Jillian Michael's six weeks 6 pack dvd. You can purchase it for $10 at Walmart or Target. That dvd along with some of her other dvd's should help with your problem.

I'm a distance running and will be running my first marathon this Sunday. I just purchased Kettleworx. It's a set of 6 dvds that comes with 5, 10 or 15 lb kettlebell depending on the one you choose. The program involves working out three days a week for thirty minutes. I'm planning to began my six week cross training…

Running hills once a week and everything everyone else stated will shave some time off your runs. After running hills, my flat runs seem almost effortless.

Interesting question. TBO...neither of us have asked the question and we've been married 25 years. Does it really matter? I mean.. the way I see it is I'm the lucky one that is with her and vice versa. I don't want to know how many or who was the first one and I'm sure my wife doesn't want to know either otherwise the…

I believe you may need to change the way you approach your boyfriend with this problem. I was super fit when I met my wife 25 years ago. Then over the years I got fat and out of shape. I'm talking about 40 lbs out of shape. Not very attractive if you know what I mean. The thing is my wife never ever nagged me about it.…

I'm starting Kettleworx on October 1. You can find it at Kettleworx.com. It's kind of expensive...$89.00 online and $64.00 at Target.

I think the best game plan to take into maintenance mode and not fall backwards is to constantly have new fitness goals and adventures. I have an event scheduled for each quarter. I completed a mudrun in May. I running a marathon at the end of this month. I doing Kettlework from Oct. 1 thru Nov 25th. I will begin training…

You can do this but you really need to take a long look in the mirror and decide it's your time. I'm going to tell ya now that this is going to be a life long journey so you might as well toughen up and get ready for the ride. I agree with everyone else and I'm going to tell you from experience that it's not going to get…

Absolutely amazing. Congrats and go get em....that 31 pounds that is!

I'm a clean freak. I have to have on a fresh pair of workout clothes...socks, shorts or sweats, tank top, workout shirt. EVERY THING. When I first started my fitness journey last Novermber I did not have much to wear. Then I started purchasing something every pay period. Now I have enough workout clothes to last seven…

It's an awesome dvd. Heck all of Jillian's dvds are great. I've completed 30 day shred, ripped in 30, shred & shred and done six week 6 pack in between my marathon training. I think you will love it. If you've done the others it may not be as challeging but it will still give you a great workout.

The Bible. It will change your life.

I consider myself a "hardcore runner." I average between 30-40 miles a week . I absolutely love running. I agree with 3dogsrunning that the initial first two miles are the hardest...at least for me. My average run is about 9 miles. It is on once I put on my IPOD. I listen to the music, zone out and enjoy the experience. My…

I would suggest that you subscribe to Runner's World magazine. There you wil find lots of helpful information that will make running an enjoyable experience.

I agree with waterwing response. It's always hard in the beginning when trying something new. It takes time for the body and mind to adjust. I would suggest starting very slow and running a block and walking a block and continuing this process until you are able to meet your goal. I could barely run one mile in November.…

I've been in maintenance mode since May. The key to staying on top is looking at your old photos and remembering when you were at start mode and how you felt. That should be enough to keep or put you back on track.

Hello guys and gals. I'm 46 and feeling better than I did twenty years ago when I was a young Marine. I've lost forty pounds over the past eight months and will be running my first full marathon at the end of September. I feel like a million bucks. My 46 is the new 23.

A lot of the time partners not understanding mfp has to do with user being on too much. That was my case in the beginning. I been on since January and have to admit that it's pretty addicting especially if you are new to the whole new social media scene as I was. After one disagreement I begin to take a look at how much…

I've completed all of Jillian's dvd except for "Thigh & Buns"LOL! Mostly for women. I agree with a_new_dawn. Listen to your body. You could go 5 days and rest two. Or you could take Mon and Thur off. The program works well and you will get some awesome results.Just be sure not to injure yourself or burnout. Also if 4.4 lbs…

Congrats Mike on a job well done. It took a lot of hard work and commitment to shed all of those pounds. I know because I'm 46 and went from 200 lbs to 160 lbs. I didn't lose it as fast as you did it. It took me about 4 months. It's so much harder when you are older but we are proving that there are no excuses. Now 8…

I've done all of them except Killer Buns and Thighs and would recommend 30 day shred and then follow the order that you have listed. I had lost 15 lbs before using the dvd and lost an additional 25 lbs after using 30 DS. Starting weight 200. Current weight 160.

Go ahead and continue to walk and put the nay sayers to shame. Allow the anger to fuel your fitness program.

That's the right attitude. Go and get em Sarah! :)

Get it! It works wonders. I will open my profile for a minute so you can see what it did for me. It's the one with the muscle pose. I've completed Men Health dvd, Jillain Michaels' 30 Day Shred, Jillian's Ripped in 30, Jillian's Shed & Shed, Jillian's 6 week 6 pack. I'm currently training to run a marathon at the end of…
