  • It gets easier. You just have to stick to your guns. If you want something you've never had you're going to have to do something you've never done.
  • I try to lift, do cardio and abs three times a week. I start with a 20 minute upper body or lower body circuit workout using dumbbells or kettlebells. Next, I do a 20 minute abdominal circuit workout. I finish my workout with a 20 minute interval treadmill run. I try to do this on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm also an…
  • There are several things you can do on a treadmill. Of course there's walking but that can get pretty boring after awhile. I generally walk for 30 minutes in the evening a few times a week after work. I also do interval treadmill running at least twice a week. My runs start with me walking at level 4 and increasing the…
  • Thanks mandywe. :)
  • You're bound to get several opinions about where to start. So this is just another opinion. About 16 monhs ago I weighed 200 lbs. I didn't like what I saw and struggled with motivation. After watching a reality show , I woke up the next morning and attempted to run three miles. I felt like I was dying. Lol. Since then I…
  • Trying the Brizilian Butt dvd.
  • I've completed 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, and Shed & Shred. I'm in agreement that Ripped in 30 is harder. I found Shed & Shred kind of easy but a great recovery workout dvd. For the best results I would complete them in the order I have listed here. Just my opinion though.
  • You look amazing. Awesome job.
  • It's possible to lose 20 lbs but it will probably take 3-4 months. I lost 20+ lbs and hit my goal weight last May. You have to really want it and not stop after 30 days or when the going gets tough. I've completed 30 day Shred, Ripped in 30, Shed & Shred as well as Kettleworx. Remember losing weight is a journey and not a…
  • A few weeks back my training was becoming a drag. It was getting to the point were it was more like work than fun. So one week I completely went against my training schedule and did what I wanted to do. I put on my music, left my watch at home and just went for several fun runs. I was not concerned about time, tempo,…
  • The one with the cap and the necklace is cool.
  • I would rather be very smart. Being smart is the new sexy.
  • Try the Brazil Butt Lift workout dvd by Beach Body. That should help you.
  • I've been married for 26 years so I think I can safely respond to this question. You know the person is the one when you will drive over two hours to see them only to have to return to work the next day. You know the person is the one when you talk on the phone for hours and after 3-4 months you still talk on the phone for…
  • I agree with mockhoc...start over and over and over until you get it right. I've been on here 345 days and guess what...I've had many days like you just had today. Don't forget today but don't dwell on it and beat yourself up FOREVER! Tomorrow is a new day and a new start. You must first understand this....A lifestyle of…
  • Like how you started your post. It seems some people are here for other reasons. To each his own but I'm all about business. You can add me if you like.
  • If you want to have something you've never had....then you're going to have to do something you've never done. I goal without a plan is just a wish. Do what you can do until you can do what you want to do.
  • As a former personal trainer, I would suggest going with home equipment. You can purchase and elliptical machine or treadmill for cardio and some dumbbells...5 lbs to 25 lbs to start and a portable bench for weight lifting. I trained my clients in their home and took all my equipment in one of my smaller cars. I suggested…
  • Carlsbad, Irvine or Lake Tahoe, California. I've lived in Carlsbad and Irvine. Both are awesome cities to live in. Vacationed and ran a marathon in Lake Tahoe. Would love to retire in Lake Tahoe. The water is actually blue...even the lakes. The snow may be a bit much.
  • I think everyone was brought up on cereal. I now eat a lot of oatmeal, turkey bacon, waffles and egg substitute. Homemade burritos are great too.
  • Jacksonville, Florida but California since 87.
  • I love J.M's dvds. I completed 30 day Shred, Ripped in 30, and Shred & Shred in that order. . I did my last one last July right before I started training for my first marathon. Plan to start them up again tomorrow. You can checkout my profile pic for the results. I think they are an excellent buy for $10 each. You'll have…
  • Sometimes you just have to get in the car and go to a desired location. I don't have your problem during my normal runs but I do have a pace group that I run with every Saturday. My drive is 1 hour and 15 minutes. I have to get up early and be on the road by 5:00 am to get to Santa Monica by 6:30 am. Is it worth it? It is…
  • In 2012 I accomplished the following: 1. Lost 32 lbs 2. Ran first mud run 3. I ran my first marathon in Lake Tahoe 4. Liked marathons so much I ran a second one on Dec 2. 5. Ran a 5k in 20:32 6. Ran a 10k a few days before Christmas at 49:03 7. Completed Body 4 Life, Spartan Circuit, 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, Shed &…
  • No flirting at all...but hot dang. You look amazing. Happy New Year and keep up the great work.
  • "The Fighter" by Gym Class Heroes. I never hit the road without it.
  • Start with walking. Add a 3 lbs dumbbell after a few weeks so you don't get bored. You can curl, punch and do overhead lifts to build your arms the same time you're working on your legs and cardio.
  • I planning to rest more, stretch more and drink even more water. Working out is not my problem. It's the smaller but just as important things that I first mentioned.
  • Runner's World Magazine and books are a great source of information. You'll learn about proper nutrition, training, injury prevention and recovery.
  • I agree with HMVOL7409 and scottb81. I would also included some reading about marathon and half-marathon training. I recommend Runner's World Magazine, The Runner's World Big Book of Marathon and Half-Marathon Training, and Runner's World Guide to Road Racing. These books with help you with nutrition, proper training, and…
