I was using another weight-loss site, and complained about the lack of features on a forum. Someone told me about this one and I was hooked. Lost 100+ pounds the first time I was on, now back to lose some that I have gained back and hopefully a little extra.

I like to just barely steam it, then toss it with some EVOO, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Then I throw it on the grill. I use a George Forman grill, but a grill pan or outdoor grill would be great too. Works really nice with chicken or Tofu.

I am in, really need the accountablity. This should be fun.

I had this debate too, and ended up going with the 3G. It is true that there is a lot of free wifi out there, but with the 3G I can use the built in "expiremental" web browser even when I can't get a good wifi signal, and when I am on the bus, train etc. That said being able to watch videos etc. can be nice, but I have a…

Low fat beef or turkey jerky. Just make sure to keep an eye on the sodium.

What I try, is to vary my measurment methods. Once a week I do a real weigh in. In the middle of the week if I feel the need I hop on the scale at work, and take it with a grain of salt because I know it weights heavier than the one at home. Finally, if I feel a need to measure progress more often, I either get out the…

Thanks again everyone! tlapdx72- I would tell your mom that she should talk seriously to her doctor, and to a bariatric surgeon. They should be able to give her a realistic picture of what the surgery would be like for her. Also, I know that the surgery can be a literal lifesaver for diabetics. I have a friend who was…

I lost 30lbs while I was waiting for the surgery, and the rest since I had it in June. Tell your friend good luck for me, and my biggest advice is to really follow your doctors advice closely. I have really followed the diet they reccomended the whole time, and I have steadily lost 3+ lbs per week. If she ever wants…

Some of the cheapest foods on earth are rice and beans, especially if you get dried beans. Just soak the beans in cold water over night, and then boil them in a pot with some salt and pepper (garlic if you are adventurous) until they are tender to bite. I do a good sized pot, then freeze 1 cup portions. Make rice, add your…

A protein shake can be very helpful for working out. If you are woried about calories, I reccomend MuscleMilk Lite as it has less fat and calories. As long as you are counting it in your calories, it should be all right. The other option is to have a small high protien snack about 1/2 an hour before you workout to give you…

Try a little bit of olive oil mixed with italian spices (oregano, basil, parsley) and some roasted garlic. For extra flavor/protein, sautee it with peppers, onions, and your choice of lean meat. Toss lightly with the pasta, and add a little bit of fresh grated or shredded parmesan. Yummy! Good luck with pasta day.

At my job we make both a lentil loaf, and a lentil burger that work as great meat substitutes. I will try to grab the recipe tomorrow and post for you. I love the lentil loaf with vegan onion gravy instead of meatloaf.

On the My home section, go to settings, and then change forum signiture. Paste in the code from your ticker, and it will show up every time you post. Welcome back, and good luck. I know that taking control of my health has been the best decision I have ever made, and no matter how hard some days, I will never regret…

I am going to reward myself with things that I have not been able to do easily at my heaviest. This can be as simple as going window shopping with a friend and actually being able to try stuff on, or more exciting like going to an amusement park! I have not been able to fit in most carnival rides in almost 10 years, really…

I know exactly how you feel. When I started this I was 320# and my goal was to loose 120# ending up at 200 even. Now that I have lost 80# I am seeing that I can do more, and my goals are harder. Now I would like to loose 140-160# putting me between 180-160# I would never have thought I could get that small, and am suprised…

I did have gastric bypass in June, and since then have lost 48lbs. Before it I lost 32 with diet and exercise while I prepared. It is really exciting! It has been a challenging process, but I have no regrets. Thanks for all the wonderful responces, it made my day.

If it can be washed in a machine, try washing once with vinegar, then again with baking soda. They can often get rid of that sour musty smell. good luck.

It can also be really good to make yourself some mini goals that are not about the scale numbers. For me it was really great to buy a cute shirt that was only 1/2 to 1 size smaller than I currently wear. Each month I try it on, and when it actually fits one day, I feel like a superstar. Another one is more about how much I…

I like to cut firm tofu into cubes, sprinkle it with taco seasoning, and then pan fry it in a little olive oil until crispy on all sides. This is great in soft tacos, and burritos instead of hamburger:love:. As an alternative, you can cook it with sesoning and make it like a scramble or crumble texture instead. Enjoy your…

Also, If you don't want a large meal in the morning, you might consider a good high protein shake, with a light meal. I read an article that said that things like soup and shakes actually help because they stay in the stomache longer, and take longer to digest. Good Luck!

You look great! Congratulations!

That is so cool! You are doing great, keep up the hard work. It is so exciting when you see that first great landmark weight. For me it was getting below 275 for the first time in almost a decade. Way to Go

Looks like spring is finally here! It is motivating me to get some more outside exercise, and hopefully to be more active in general. Glad to see that so many of you are doing well, and want to offer my congrats on all the hard work we have done this winter. I am really enjoying the chance to ride my bike to and from work,…

6 years and counting for me. Finally making a little progress with help from Dr/nutritionist.

I think this thread is great! It is wonderful to see so many people who are in similar situations to me doing so well and supporting each other. I am a single 32 year old woman, and for the last 2 years have been the heaviest of my life at 320lbs. Currently I am planning to have gastric bypass, and have been doing…

I have 2 suggestions, hope they help. For tracking on the go, I use my cellphone. I just use the notepad feature under tools to jot down what I ate, then add up when I get home. For most cell phone companies you can get an application that does calorie counting even if you don't have a smartphone. Verizon has one called…

I just wanted to say that I have looked over several other calorie counter sites in the last month, and started a blog elsewhere, but this already seems the most fun and supportive site I have come across. I am really looking forward to getting to know more people here, and I can already tell I will be blogging frequently.…
