Check the # of servings you make. It probably makes way more than you think.

I log as aerobics, general.

I love Zumba! I do a class at my church each week, and then I borrowed the Wii version and have just started that one. So much fun!

I'm 5'4 and started at 174lb. I was eating 1590 to lose 1lb/week. That was a perfect amount to satisfy hunger and lose weight. I'm still going!

I love mine! I push myself to make it the next level. And, I know exactly how many extra calories I have really burned - so I can happily eat those extra exercise calories! Linking to MFP really works.
-
Try laying on your back and trying to lift just one leg up at a time. And...even if you can only do 1 or 2 of an exercise, that's no reason not to try. Next week you will be able to do 3. Then 5, then 10, Just keep trying!

I love it - have used for years. I especially like the chocolate since I don't need to add jelly. (150 cal sandwich - can't beat it!)

You have to recalculate your BMR and TDEE at your new weight. then you will know how much to eat. Try it for several weeks to see if you are maintaining (you may need to adjust slightly up or down) http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/

The recipe calculator makes it really easy. And since the calorie content listed on packaging may be off by +/- 25%, I put it all in and my day usually averages out properly.

We do year round - taking vacations in the off season, days off when DH is off work, breaks when we just need them. We don't have to spend copious amounts of time reviewing each September, either!

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. I love it! I am active most of the day (homemaker) and wasn't sure how that tracked as exercise. So now I wear my Fitbit 24/7, log my food on MFP and only exercises which involve my arms (Zumba, aerobics, etc.). Fitbit adds any extra calories that I earn from walking and general…

To lose 1 lb, you need a deficit of 3500 cal. So at only a 70 cal deficit, your rate of loss would be 1 lb every 50 weeks.
-
1200 cal is the base because any lower than that is dangerous. If you ask it to subtract (500 for 1lb, 1000 for 2lb/week) an amount that would take you lower than 1200, it automatically stops there. It doesn't mean that is a good amount. Maybe choose a more reasonable goal - like the recommended 1 lb/week. You get more…

This site has many frugal recipes, and a sample menu for how to feed a family on $50/month. http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/recipeindex.htm

Well, yes, if you replace a 500 calorie cheeseburger with a 200 calorie protein shake, you will lose weight. But if you are replacing a 200 calorie bowl of cereal with a 200 calorie shake, it probably won't make a difference.

I choose to honor my husband - and just as I would not be found alone in a room with another man, I would not intentionally put myself in a potentially compromising relationship on the internet, either.
-
It this already creole flavored, though? I use a roux for bases in everything - I don't really like gumbo seasoning. Is it still good?
-
I use EVOO/skim milk for most of my roux, but for chicken pot pies/casseroles, I just use chicken stock and corn starch. BTW, rework chicken soup into casserole by just adding cornstarch, heating in a casserole dish - brand new meal!

Well, 144 is in the normal range for 5'4. It is actually my goal weight for same height. But your body type can affect how you look in different clothes. Here is a very useful site for figuring out your body type and what styles are most flattering. Check it out! http://www.shopyourshape.com/body-shapes.html

I had been looking for this site for weeks!
-
That's what I thought! Why would you make a goal that is destined to fail?

I was severely anemic and put on Slow FE. I was supposed to take 2 a day - it caused the worst abdominal pain in my life! When I moved to one a day, I have not had any problems. I also do make sure to still eat lean red meat during TOM.

If you open your diary, we could be of more help. Are you measuring your food? Eyeballing it over time makes for bigger and bigger portions without noticing the change.

Learning self-control is they only way to stay healthy for the rest of your life. All these people who go for a quick-fix without changing their habits will put the weight back on (plus some more after messing with their metabolism). If you still want to be healthy ten years from now, only YOU can do that, by a change in…

Congrats! 16 lbs in 12 weeks is awesome weight loss! Comparing lb to lb of weight loss is very deceptive. The higher your starting weight, the more you can safely lose at a time. But comparing your weight loss journey to that of a 400 lb man would not be fair. Also, look at your %body fat and inches lost, not just what the…

I drink other things throughout the day, but still try to get 8 glasses of water on top of that. If I drink only pop/tea, I end up retaining water.

around 2500 without exercise.
-
1100 still is not enough. Calculate you BMR and eat at least that many calories + exercise.

I weigh every day, but only record after the number is consistently lower (2+ days). I also ignore when its TOM, since I know its a false spike in weight.
