  • I totally feel you. I love skipping breakfast, but everyone is right, it is not the best idea. What I do, is I eat something very small, something to get me through my workout, and when I finish, I eat a good lunch. I do not skip breakfast though, but a small amount of protein and some carbs and sugar are the best thing to…
  • Thank you all so much for the thoughtful replies. They are very much appreciated. I do live in a snowy place which is another reason it has gotten more difficult lately. I usually ride my bike and run to wherever I am going but it is more difficult in -30 weather (I live in Quebec..) but that is certainly no excuse. On…
  • Haha feta does make it better!!! I don't put any lettuce. Just the veggies listed! If I did, I would probably put it on a bed of baby spinach or cut up some bite size romaine, especially the crunchy spines!
  • Popcorn. As long as you don't load it up with butter or oil, it is a low calorie snack you can eat a lot of without packing on the calories.
  • Eat when you are hungry, and especially if you exercise, do not forget to eat your calories or in the long run, you will crash. Bottom line though, calories add up the same amount at the end of the day whether it's between 6 meals or 3 so do what works for you. I eat 3 meals a day, breakfast often melding into lunch (I…
  • A couple spoonfuls of plain goat yogurt 1/2 cup oats approx. 10 grapes approx 5 strawberries raspberries About 300 cals Voila. Delicious :)
  • Try Green & Blacks or Cocoa Camino, they are both organic and I think CC is fair trade. They have bars over 70% but they also have a bunch at 55% with cherries or other things which are to die for (my favorite is G&B Cherry). The entire bar is about 500 cals... which is a lot but if you can control yourself or have a…
  • Hell yeah! I am drinking lemon juice and club soda right now! It is filling because of the bubbles and so good so it helps to stop the snacking. Try a little lemon juice, there are like zero calories for the whole drink but you feel full after. Amazing.
  • Coconut oil is a medium-train triglyceride which means that your body doesn't store it as fat. It goes straight through your liver and is used as quick energy. It has soooo many amazing health benefits (which have already been pointed out) and also, the best part about it, which nobody has mentioned, is that it has a very…
  • Pear shaped women are absolutely beautiful! If you are in good shape and at a healthy weight then you will look good no matter what body type you have. Curves are beautiful and women have hips! Just keep in good physical condition and you will look fantastic :)
  • I knew it. Coffee feels good for my body and I trust that.
  • Then stop talking to them. You can't change people. I don't want to judge your family because I think there are two sides to every story, but if it isn't working, and sometimes it will never work, then just cut out the stress, the dysfunction and the source of aggression in your life. Activists, some activists, sometimes…
  • If you eat relatively healthy then a multi would be good every other day. If you know you tend to not get all the nutrients you need, a daily multi would be a good idea. Cravings are often a sign of a deficiency (for example, women craving chocolate is often a sign of a magnesium deficiency). Even the healthiest person…
  • Ok, whatever, whether she did or she didn't, even if she asked for it but didn't really want it, doesn't mean people need to get all worked up about it. Relax
  • But so what if she didnt really want feedback? Sometimes it helps just to share, vent, whatever. And I do think you can make changes or suggestions and that people will take them if you arent seeming like you are against them but rather, that you are on their side, trying to help them achieve their goals. Positive feedback…
  • Popcorn is a good, low calorie snack. Dont add butter, just put salt and nutritional yeast. Its super filling so you can eat a bunch of it and not get many calories out of it. Try and air pop if possible for even less calories
  • I agree, nuts are the devil. If I could have just a couple nuts, I would, but I cant stop myself once I start... so I stay away, or, I try to
  • I realize that the replies were well intended. All I am saying is that there is a way to tell people things that will be beneficial to them and there is a way of telling people things that will make them defensive and, in turn, they will likely not listen and just, well, get defensive. I dont think anyone was trying to be…
  • Thanks so much for the advice! I really need to do that... go to the gym and just pump as hard as I can and not be lazy... I will get my heart rate up that way. It's just so much more work it seems than going for a run. I definitely won't get diesel arms hahaha, Ill make sure of that!
  • Well I have been for my upper body and abdominals. It has been better than nothing for sure, but the calories burned are not significant. I wish I could lift weights with my lower body, or do some squats or something but any bending of the knee can be painful. So I am doing something, but it is a lot less than I am used to.
  • What a nice idea eh? I realized how important it is to take care of your body when you push hard and also, how easy it is not to. My knee is simply telling me to slow down and take care of myself better. I was running 40 minutes a day, cycling for about 30 minutes (which, on its own is alright), also, going to the gym for…
  • Hard boiled egg would be perfect after your workout. Protein is key, as soon as you can eat after your workout to help repair your muscles. Also, I think people need to be a little more understanding and less aggressive when responding to people's posts. It is easy to get caught up in calorie counting and maybe go a little…
  • You know, I used to be a lifeguard and I swam my whole life. I really should get back into it. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • Exactly! If I don't rest, this depressing injury will just drag on and on and maybe even turn into a real injury that could last months if not years. Thing is with the built in calorie deficit is that I am at my ideal weight right now. I mean, everyone always thinks they could lose another pound or two, but realistically,…
  • Yeah I might get it checked, but cortisone is not something I want... I am the natural remedy type person... I think it just needs some serious rest, which is difficult when you work standing and go to school etc... I will get it checked soon though, 2 weeks seems long eh?
  • Why don't you add some low-calorie proteins like fish and eggs? Seriously, it will only help. You will feel a lot more able to get through your exercising, even if you don't feel like you are having trouble doing so. I was vegan for 3 years and when I started on fish and eggs again I felt so much better. Just add some…
  • Weight loss is on a grander scale than calorie count for a week, you need to keep it up for, well, ever. I find also, (sorry guys) that one's menstrual cycle plays a huge role in one's weight. If you are close to getting your period you can gain like 1-2, even 3 pds that will go away after you get it. Don't fret the scale…
  • You are best to go with a granola that has oats or something. Honey Nut Cherrios are empty calories and you will find yourself to be hungry not long after breakfast. There are some great, easy recipes out there for granola, and if you add dried fruit it's awesome! Also, if you use the Almond Breeze (which is so good by the…
  • I was vegan for 3 years and although I lost weight at first, eventually I found it difficult to be at a comfortable weight. A vegan diet makes it more difficult to get efficient and complete protein so I found myself constantly eating to have enough energy to keep up with my busy lifestyle. I just recently started eating…
  • Yeah well it's the gym's digital scale and it's at zero before I get on it so Yay! I had also eaten already which should have made me heavier but anyway. I guess it's good!
